Tour Tips
  • If you want a more personal experience, pick a small group tour. These often offer more freedom and flexibility, plus the opportunity to meet other awesome travelers.
  • If you're on a stricter budget, the accommodations might not always be luxurious. But, they will still be more than comfortable and a great way to connect with other travelers.
  • Take time to eat at a family restaurant and get to know the locals. You can learn more from them than anyone.
  • Get to know the local culture by walking around street markets
  • Some tour operators offer 'meet up' apps to help you get to know your fellow travelers before the trip departs.
  • Let your guide know if you have any health issues such as food allergies or other dietary restrictions so they can try their best to accommodate you ahead of time.

They Made It Difficult For Me To Get Money Back

Balkan Adventure

1.0 August 2017 Intrepid Travel Recommend: No I booked a 981euro holiday with Intrepid in July 2017. They emailed me a few days after booking to tell me that trip was cancelled and that I was entitled to a refund. Fair enough. I emailed back that day to say I would accept the refund. No response or returned money ensued so I contacted them about this again a few days later. A lady told me via email that my refund had now been requested and was on the way. A little peeved that I had to remind them of money they owed, esp as they had cancelled.
Almost a week later and my bank account still empty. I contacted again and they told me they would authorise my refund. I was getting really worried at this stage. They seemed so indifferent. Meanwhile I didn't have the money in my account to book another holiday during my annual leave. I continued to call and email. Finally after numerous unanswered phonecalls and 15 emails (all unanswered bar 2), I finally got my money back almost two weeks after they cancelled. It was hard work and stressful trying to get it back. I am distrustful of intrepid and will steer clear of them.
Be warned - once you have paid they don't care. Customer service atrocious - over a dozen unanswered calls and emails. I will never have dealings with them again.

YOLO CRUISE - Santorini to Mykonos

1.0 August 2017 Sail in Greece Recommend: No Screw this trip it ruined mine and everyone else's trip! One of the boats sank in bad weather because they didn't have a proper skipper on the boat ! This company must be shut down and sued for their crimes of dangering people lives and wasting their money Read more

YOLO CRUISE - Mykonos to Santorini

1.0 July 2017 Sail in Greece Recommend: No Do not use this company! Firstly, they overcharged me for an add-on, for which I had to fight to get my money back. Was promised a boat with WiFi, air-conditioning, rooms to accommodate the amount of people they hold and got none of this. The WiFi on the boats never worked, the power was never turned on even whilst the boat was docked (where they had access to power). I had to share a tiny room with a couple and was not comfortable sleeping in so had to sleep outside. The ensuite to the room had a shower that never had hot water and no working toilet, I had to go eat at a restaurant to use their bathroom. From the first day the boat stank like faeces, this did not improve throughout the week. Due to weather, was stuck in Ios for most of the trip and the company provided us with no update as to whether we would make it to our final destination. Upon finishing my trip and reading up online this is not the first time this has happened, they try to coerce people into not posting negative reviews! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Read more

Bad experience!

YOLO CRUISE - Mykonos to Santorini

1.0 July 2017 Sail in Greece Recommend: No Our experience with Sail in Greece was awful. The customer service we received was horrible and consequently our booking was given to someone else without notification. Both deposits were lost and the company refuses to refund the money. Be very cautious booking with this company. Read more

18-30's Travel Trips & Tour Advice

Young adult travelers are often -- though certainly not always -- on the lookout for budget trips. Many seek active, outdoorsy adventures such as hiking or biking tours, trekking and camping expeditions, backpacking trips, off-the-beaten-path locations, and a variety of learning tours, such as cooking classes in Turkey or Scuba lessons in the South Pacific. All these options and more are offered by today's tour operators. And if you want to put together a custom itinerary for yourself and your friends, just ask -- many operators will be happy to do that, too.

Take the Planning Out

The 18-30 group is one of the busiest by far; busy with school, work, kids, and life in general. Pre-planned trips save you time by having a set itinerary so you don't have something else on your plate. You can search by the number of days you have available, where you want to go, or what type of trip you want to go on. You can guarantee that you will see plenty of wildlife and exotic locations.

Productive Itineraries

If this is one of your only vacations of the year, you’ll want to see as much as you can. These trips have multiple activities everyday to make sure you see the most of each area visited. Choose activities based on your interests. Short on time? There are trips you can do in less than a week for a quick vacation. Whether you have a week or a month, your trip will be unforgettable.

Budget Trips

These trips are catered to the young traveler's budget. Traveling alone can be very expensive, and is not as affordable if you are in or just out of college. No need to worry about booking expensive taxis or hotels for your vacation. Your trip will put together the most affordable lodging and transportation for you to get the most out of your money.

Exploring New Territories

More and more young people are venturing out of their comfort zones and going to less well known countries. The convenience of a pre-planned group trip means you don't have to worry about getting from A to B and deal with transportation. You can focus all your energy on taking breathtaking pictures as you see foreign lands.
