Avichai  traveled a lot as a child, but his first real trip was a backpacking voyage to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. It is on that trip that he was almost killed by an angry kangaroo, but also where he fell in love with tropical islands.

Avichai loves to plan his trips and arrive at a new destination feeling almost like a local. His friends caught on to that skill and soon enough, Avichai found himself spending hours sharing trip plans with friends and colleagues. That’s when he decided to create a website with all his itineraries so that others can use his knowledge to plan their own adventures. After endlessly searching for things to do in ‘10 days in Zanzibar’ - his website ‘X Days In Y’ was born!

Most recently, Avichai left his full time job in the tech industry to fulfill his dream of island hopping in the South Pacific. He spent six months visiting 21 islands and he’s currently publishing travel guides to this remote region so that others can turn their fantasy into reality.

After a decade of dreaming, I quit my comfortable job and embarked on a six month voyage to 21 South Pacific tropical islands. Part of the fun was just getting from one island to another, covering immense distances in boats and small planes. I discovered that nearly all the cliches about ‘paradise’ are absolutely spot on, but the feeling of being at the end of the world and meeting exotic cultures are what really made this a memorable experience.

After falling in love with tropical islands, I’m planning to relocate to Hawaii in the next few months for a year.
