  1. What does Stride have to offer that other travel sites don’t?

A:  Stride makes it easy to search and compare different pre-planned travel experiences on one site. You can search by destination, activity type, company, and many more ways to find the right guided tour, escorted tour, travel package, river cruise, or small-ship cruise. 

  1. Who am I booking a trip with?  Am I booking with Stride or through the travel company offering the trip?

A:  You book directly through the tour operator or travel company organizing the trip, never with Stride. We will never ask for your credit card information.  Stride is like a very specialized search engine (like Google) that helps you find and research great trips, but we do not actually sell them.  We think it's better for you and the travel provider if you buy directly from the operator once you’ve made your choice at Stride.

  1. What do “Stride Preferred” and “Stride Premier” mean?

A:  Stride Preferred and Stride Premier (the highest designation) are status categories that Stride has created to help users sort quickly through known and reliable travel companies.  We are all about saving you time and hassle. Since there are thousands of tour operators around the globe, this lets you quickly see which companies Stride has determined meet very high standards of professionalism, customer satisfaction, and quality. 

  1. If a company isn’t Stride Preferred or Premier, does that mean I should avoid it?

A:  No. Just because we haven't fully reviewed a tour operator yet -- allowing us to designate it Stride Preferred or Stride Premier -- doesn't necessarily mean there's anything to be concerned about. We invite you to read some reviews, check out the company's profile page on Stride, and perhaps other sources as well to determine if they meet your personal standards.

  1. I’d like to write a review of my trip on Stride. How do I do that?

A:  Great!  The easiest way is to click on the ‘Write a Review’ link on our homepage. Then, select your trip and/or travel company and write your review.  If you don’t find the specific trip you went on, you can still write a general review of the travel company. If you don’t see the company or have other questions, let us know by email and we’ll try to address it ASAP. 

  1. I’m a travel professional. How do I qualify to become a Stride “Destination Expert"?

A:  Email us to find out the current qualification requirements.  Generally we limit the number of Destination Experts and require that you have demonstrable knowledge of a region, having lived or traveled extensively there, and have good writing skills. You can also visit our Destination Expert page for more details.

  1. I don’t see a trip that I’m looking for. Does that mean it doesn’t exist?

A:  Stride is a young company and there are thousands of travel providers -- each with hundreds of trips and itineraries -- so we're still adding to our growing database.  We have a strong initial focus on African safaris and European river cruises, as well as on guided tours to some of the most popular (and intriguing) destinations around the world such as Machu Picchu, Angkor Wat, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Antarctica, and China. But you'll also find guided trips focused around a variety of activities including 50+ Travel, Cycling, Culinary and Wine-Tasting Tours, Hiking, History, and much more. Since we're collaborating with some of the largest tour operators and cruise lines, you'll see the number of global trips expanding quickly.

  1. I don’t see tours from a specific travel company here. Why not?

A:  We're working as quickly as we can to list major travel providers around the world on the site. Meanwhile, please let us know which companies you’d like us to add and we’ll do our best to make them a priority. You may also want to directly inform the companies that you'd like to see their tours added to Stride, which can speed the process along.
