Tour Tips
  • Luxury travel doesn’t have to mean lounging travel. Many luxury trips include active elements, such as skiing.
  • A ‘label’ doesn’t always equate to a good experience. In fact going on a luxury tour usually means you’re staying in hidden treasures, rather than large luxury chains.
  • Be aware of what’s included. Many luxury tours, and especially cruises, are all inclusive, but not all.

Excellent walking trip in the Dolomites

Classic Dolomites - Premium

5.0 August 2017 Exodus Travels Recommend: Yes An excellent trip which I would highly recommend to other walkers. Each day's
walk takes you to a different part of the Dolomites to explore and enjoy.
Alex, our group leader, had very good knowledge of the area and could adapt
our walks based on the weather conditions and was able to share his
historical information with us. The hotel, Hotel Alder, in Villabassa, was a
treat to come home to every night - the food was superb and the staff were
very friendly. There were 12 of us in the group and we all got on very well
indeed which made for a very good week.
The last day's walk on Monte Piano was very special. We were lucky with the
weather and had blue skies and lovely sunshine making the views just amazing.
However, thinking about the events that had taken place up there during the
war was a very sobering moment.

Alex was an excellent group leader and kept our group together very well
which made for a very united group.

Be prepared for all weather conditions in one day!

To future travelers - you will spend most of the week having "wow' moments at
the scenery - hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Cycling Puglis

Cycling Puglia & Matera

5.0 July 2017 Exodus Travels Recommend: Yes The sun shone, the bikes were sturdy to cope with the bumpy roads and the food
was outstanding. After a long and undulating first day I thought I'd
never keep up. But my legs did get used to the speed of the others and the
hills became just a small challenge. A great holiday with lovely people.
I cycled to the top of a coastal hill encouraged by our guide Marinella. I
thought I would have to walk but No........

Marinla worked so hard she made our holiday. Fixing bikes, sorting out the
route and places to eat, making picnics giving encouragement.

Good sense of humour required!

Gastronomic Cycling Loire valley

Loire Gastronomic Self-Guided Cycling - Premium

5.0 July 2017 Exodus Travels Recommend: Yes On the whole the trip was good but there were some disappointments. The
final night"s dinner after fabulous meals the whole trip was very poor.
there were also some issues with the route map that we were given and in one
place in particular the rout took us under a railway and we wee stopped by
two local who said that this route was too dangerous and showed us a better
The cycles were good and generally the route was fine.
Cycling along the cycling paths on the banks of the Loire.

Not applicable self guided.

Get a good route map to check directions.

It was such a shame that our lat dinner was so poor, it rather ended the
holiday on a sour note.

Luxury Travel Trips & Tour Advice

Luxury travel could mean staying a five-star hotel in Europe, a beautiful resort on the Indian Ocean, or a luxurious tented campground on an African safari. It could mean traveling aboard a specially outfitted train, a deluxe river or small cruise ship or even by bicycle, as long as meals, lodging and support is top notch. Many tour operators offer luxury group tours or will plan one exactly to your specifications.

Private Tours and "Backstage Access"

Luxury doesn’t have apply just to the accommodation style. It also means high caliber, exclusive tour experiences, such as an after hours tour of the Vatican or a wine tasting in Burgundy hosted by the winemaker himself. These types of tours are an amazing way to get some one-on-one time with experts in their fields, ask questions, and gain insight into some of the worlds most impressive sights you might otherwise miss if surrounded by crowds.

Villas, Resorts, and Glamps

Accommodation is one of the largest considerations on a luxury tour. While many budget or mid-range tours tend to opt for a basic style, luxury tours take their accommodation seriously. From beachside resorts to glamping, luxury accommodation is something to write home about.

Feel the timelessness of Europe in a villa getaway. Nothing beats waking up to rolling hills of vineyards and roaming the rustic grounds. Feel like a local as visit nearby markets for fresh produce, and enjoy watching the world go by as you lingering over a coffee in a classic European cafe.

Beach resorts are some of the most popular luxury getaways. Take a dip in crystal clear blue water, and enjoy lounging in the shade, feeling the warm breeze on a private stretch of beach.

The relatively new concept of “glamping,” that is luxury camping, it’s actually quite a great way to be close with nature without having to rough it. And glamping destinations are becoming increasingly popular. Get the best of both worlds.
