We are the first meta search marketplace for all organized travel and custom trips, including international guided tours, adventure travel packages, and river cruises. Stride offers thousands of trips from hundreds of tour companies along with real traveler reviews, simple search and comparison tools and rich destination guides so travelers can quickly and easily find their perfect trip.
Stride leadership consists of travel industry and e-commerce veterans based in downtown San Francisco with staff spanning the globe.
Role Summary
The Stride Marketing & PR intern will play a vital part in continuing to shape the company’s brand presence with traditional media outlets as well as digital influencers and travel bloggers. In addition to the tactical outreach projects, the intern will also have hands on experience working alongside the Co-founders to evolve the company’s overall marketing, social media, & PR strategy.
Basic Qualifications
- Full/part-time student currently enrolled in Bachelor degree program or recent graduate with
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- 3-6 months of PR, social media and/or general marketing experience in a business environment preferred
- Some international travel experience and/or a passion for the travel industry
- Strong written communications skills - this is a must!
- An outgoing personality, entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
Specific Responsibilities
- Grow brand awareness and site traffic for Stride using proven SEO tactics, especially gaining backlinks from highly relevant sites
- Distribute and share branded content on major social media platforms
- Generate positive, consistent brand awareness for the company by engaging with members of the press & digital travel influencers
- Manage day-to-day execution of community building projects to encourage viral growth
- Posing/answering questions and comments on lifestyle + travel blogs and forums
- Accurately track all PR & marketing metrics for executive team and investor reports
- Ad hoc administrative tasks at direction of Content Marketing Manager
Why You Want to Work with Stride
You will join the Stride team as one of our first marketing interns reporting directly to the Content Marketing Manager. This person will help influence key decisions during a very pivotal time for our company. You will help grow our business while knowing that you are improving the travel planning experience for all of our potential users. This is an all-encompassing role in which you will not only gain valuable PR & marketing experience, but also acquire key skills around launching an e-commerce startup.
Logistics
We are flexible on start dates as we realize that schools are on different schedules. Preference would be given to full-time candidates who are willing to commit to a 40-hour week for a minimum of 6 months.
However, for the right candidate, part-time (20 hours per week) with a minimum of 1-2 days per week in our downtown office would be acceptable.
Stride works with you to attain course credit when your University supports internships for credit. Additionally, the successful applicant will acquire new & useful skills and have the opportunity to truly influence the direction of an early stage startup.
