Best Things to Do in Istanbul

Less bus travel- I feel like we saw every service station and especially on the marathon day and this precluded longer stops at sites as were on a schedule.
Swap the itinerary so that its the other way around
At Istanbul, include the Cistern as this was exceptional and swap out for one of the mosques

This was an extensive tour giving a very good overview of the country. Mehmet our guide/leader was excellent in every way making it both interesting and fun with insights into every aspect of national life, customs and practices. Excellent planning and advice added to the experience and saved time and effort on many occasions. One or two of the hotels were of a lesser standard than expected whilst others were very comfortable or had additional facilities and services. Overall a very good experience with a wonderful group of likeminded people who bonded throughout. Would encourage me to book again with Explore and separately to make further travels into Turkey particularly more of Istanbul and some of the more remote archaeological sites.

My first experience of this type of holiday. Very full on, but had an amazing experience. Packed everything in, and shared it with a lovely group of people. Very knowledgeable guide, who looked after us very well. Smooth travelling so we could just enjoy the experience.

Turkey is a huge, fascinating country and this in depth tour gets many things right, but there is inevitably, a lot of travelling by coach. However, the itinerary is well considered and all the sites and destinations carefully chosen. We had an exceptional leader Alkan, who sourced restaurants seamlessly, checked on our welfare daily and was generally a wealth of support, knowledge and humour throughout. I also travelled with a wonderful group of kind, witty people, always a bonus. Book this trip, you won’t regret it. I’m hoping that Explore put on a tour of the Eastern part of Turkey soon. I’ll be booking that one!
