Mt. Kilimanjaro

Highlights

  • After a 4-hour long drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, you’ll find yourself on the western slope of Mt Kilimanjaro, from where the route will take you to the world-famous Shira Plateau. That’s where you’ll embark on your adventure through all the climate zones – from alpine meadows to eternal ice. The climb is smooth and gradual, featuring the highest success rate of all routes on Kilimanjaro.
  • Six, seven, and eight-day programs are available, so you can choose depending on the amount of time at your disposal. Longer programs are always recommended over the shorter ones for better acclimatization.
  • On the 8-day Lemosho route, the trek from Barranco to Barafu is broken up into two days, allowing for a short day just prior to the summit attempt. This is important because summit day begins very early, around midnight, so climbers are sleep deprived going into the toughest day on the mountain. By having a short day beforehand, climbers can be better rested.

He knew the parks like the back of his hand, patient and thoughtful letting us enjoy interesting scenes as long as we wanted. Above all he drove the well appointed safari vehicle carefully going through some tricky sections where some rookie drivers got stuck The accommodations organized by Lappet Faced Safaris were above excellent. Just the right level of comfort and great food out there in the wild. I would not think twice about using Lappet Faced Safaris again. Thanks, Francisco"
