Travel Style Travel Style Relaxed A lot of free time, with very few inclusions. Ideal for independent and/or low-key travelers and cruisers.
Full on For those looking to maximize their sight seeing time. You thrive on a packed day’s schedule from 8 am to 6pm, with some (but limited) free time. Most activities and meals included.
Mixed You will have solid amounts of both free time and structured time with some activities and meals included.

Trip Type Trip Type Group Tour Groups are between 25-60 people, typically ~30-40. Usually there will be many opportunities to split off and enjoy meals and excursions in smaller groups. This is the most economical way to travel, saving up to 40% versus booking the same itinerary yourself.
Small Group Tour Small groups are usually defined as between 10 and 24 travelers, often less. If you're the kind of person who enjoys more intimate experiences and personal service this is a good choice. All else being equal you will pay a premium for this style vs a larger group tour.
River Cruise These vessels are smaller than most ocean cruisers, limiting which amenties are available. Passenger counts can vary. One of the biggest advantages of a river cruise is the ability to dock at smaller ports and local villages.
Small Ship Cruise Small ship cruises usually have a max passenger count of 500. The primary purpose of these trips is to spend time off the vessel in local ports (e.g. Mediterranean) or experiencing nature (e.g Galapagos or Antarctica). Cabins can vary from budget to luxury.
Private Guided Private tours give you the undivided attention of a guide, and often involve special access to sites and unique experiences not available to larger groups. This is a great option for families, couples, and small friend groups. Expect to pay a bit more for the extra service.
Self Guided / Independent Tour A travel company plans your itinerary and arranges all the logistics including lodging, local activities, and transportantion. You have the flexibility of a solo trip while still getting the convience and time savings of expert planning. Get 90% of the benefits of a tour, without a guide.
Vacation / Holiday Package Similar to a self guided tour, this usually involves a home base, such as a hotel or resort, with packaged activities and day tours as a part of the stay.
Large Ship Cruise This is the "floating city" experience, with multiple ways to enjoy your vacation aboard the ship as much as on land. Ships are multiple floors, provide several activities, culinary, and shopping options. They often make fewer stops and have less time available for shore excursions.

Itinerary Focus

Lodging Level Lodging Level Camping Typically involves most nights sleeping in tents (sometimes permanent tented sites) or in rustic cabins and lodges.
Basic - 2 star You'll stay in no-frills, but clean and comfortable, hotels or guesthouses. A 'Basic' trip might also involve a few nights of camping.
Value - 3 star Mid-range budget with accommodations ranging from comfortable lodges, guesthouses, and homestays to three star hotels.
Premium - 4 star 3 to 4 star western hotel equivalents. While not all lodging will be 'luxury' they will be quite comfortable by western standards.
Luxury - 5 star The highest level of comfort and service. All accomodations are in four or five star hotels, boutique lodges or high-end homestays.

Rate 0, would never touch Globus or Cosmos tour again. Be warned if there is an issue with your tour - Don't expect Globus to help you or provide a resolution – care factor is nil. Don't risk it - don't buy Globus or Cosmos. Globus and CEO of Globus accepts and approves employee bad behavior - including lying, disrespect and mock client in front of them and putting the client health and safety at risk - I have proof in emails that support this. Had major trouble on a Cosmos 15 night trip in Sicily - 10 nights of 15 nights trip went through extreme stress and no resolution (not during the trip or after rectification).

The tour guide was extremely unprofessional in behavior - lying to clients repeating, tour guide was disrespectful, mock, belittle, laugh about and downgrade clients in front of them in Italian thinking they don't understand what you are saying (clients understood what was said and extremely upset), the tour guide and company ignore risks and forced two of the shared clients to share with another that was an issue (that person should not been allowed to purchase a twin share or should of been told to get own room on tour - sharing with this person posed WHS hazards with power cords hanging mid high across room for their medical equipment (trip hazard) and breach of privacy and access to basic amenities (sharing with a stranger twin share - where can't shut bathroom door to go to toilet or shower - as the only power point is in bathroom and her equipment had to be plugged in for life support). Multiple clients on tour complained to tour guide for 10 days and demanded another room, the tour guide did not deal with it and lied, also mocked and disrespected clients in front of them. While on tour multiple complaints emailed direct to Globus as governing body did nothing and swept it under the table and ignored it. Multiple complaints was lodge after trip as well - still no action or resolution, Multiple complaints alerting CEO of Globus (12 pages letter full examples, photos and correspondence - still no action and I specifically ask CEO questions Does the CEO accept staff bad behaviour and breach of code of conduct - approving Globus staff lying, disrespectful, mocking clients and in Italian too and a whole heap more - I received a call today and YES the CEO of Globus approves the bad behaviour of staff and clients being disrespecting, mocking, lying and more. I travel extensively all over the world for 28 years, no other Tour company does this - all other companies will resolve it. Don't risk it - don't use Globus or Cosmos - if you have an issue you wont get help. Use another tour company - there are plenty of good ones out there who will stand by their service.

My husband and I had a fabulous trip to Sicily - a place I knew I would adore
and I was not wrong. In 8 days you can only scrape the surface of this
wonderful island but this round trip was a great way to see what it can
offer. It was a perfect introduction to somewhere we will return to many
    times.
The aching beauty of Eriche, Noto and Cefalu.

Marco was a charming leader, efficient, informative with a dark sense of
humour. And he was extremely good company.

There is an element of walking every day so if you are infirm this may not be
    the trip for you.

It would have been good to have been given a map of Sicily at the beginning
of the week so we had a sense of where we were going. Please do not ever use
Hotel Europa in Palermo again. Other than this notable blip however the
accommodation on the trip was amazing.

Overall an excellent trip. This covers the main sites round the island. As it
is the largest island in the Mediterranean there is quite a lot of ground to
cover so it is quite a busy tour. However it was worth it to see the
contrasts of this lovely island which combined with the lovely food made a
    great holiday.
The wine tasting on the first day was really excellent and a good way at the
start of the tour to get to know your fellow travellers. The sites of the
island were stunning. Selinunte was not overcrowded with tourists so was
particularly lovely to walk around, with its stunning setting overlooking the
sea. The town of Erice also had stunning views and was lovely to wander the
    quite streets of the town.

Marco was excellent. He provided us all with a book at the start of the tour
and with a map of each town as we visited them. I have done many Exodus trips
and have never had a guide so organised with such maps, highlighting the
    points of interest.
Phillipe was our trusty driver who was also excellent and we all felt safe
    with his driving.

I would say that the coastal walk was more challenging than the walk on Mt
Etna. I wore good walking boots for both although could have got away with
walking shoes for the Mt Etna walk.

Overall a great trip with excellent guide and good hotels. The only downside
was the hotel in Palermo which was a bit “Faulty Towers”. Two sets of
people in our group had to change room and my Mum (who was on the holiday
with me) had to put out a spark from an electrical socket. i Suggest the
Exodus seriously look at changing the hotel for the two nights in Palermo.

This was an excellent well planned tour. I found the pace busy but not overly
strenuos or hectic. You have plenty of variety, Mt Etna seaside towns and
harbours, quaint old towns as well as the ancient sites. What made this trip
so good was the guide, Vanessa,, who often went the extra mile to help the
group, and the group itself, 15 very different people who got on well. We
stayed on for 4 nights after the end of the tour for rest and relaxation near
Taormina and this was certainly the right decision. Taormina itself is very
crowded and touristy with the side streets and the public gardens offering a
welcome relief. Palermo was the best big city with plenty of character.
The drive up to the hilltop village of Erice plus the stay at the farmhouse.

Vanessa was one of the best, if not the best, tour leader I have travelled
with. She had excellent English having lived in Dublin for eight years. She
was extremely well informed and organised. She often went out of her way to
help the group or individuals. For example we had independently booked a
hotel at the end of the tour. Not only did she drop us off but checked the
booking before we arrived and arranged for hotel staff to meet us at the end
of the drive to the hotel. She was always cheerful and fun.

Be be prepared for some long bus journeys and quite a busy pace. Don’t
worry overmuch about the walks. Our group managed both walks without any
issues but good walking shows are essential for the Etna walk. Consider
staying on after the tour but not at the tour hotel.

Well balanced holiday with a good guide as well as good local guides who had
more detailed knowledge of the sites. Plenty of variety in the other
    activities,
Seeing the Straits of Messina AND the meal cooked at the AGRITURISMO hotel in
    Busseto Palizzolo.

He was pleasant, engaged, efficient and knowledgable about his homeland

Wonderful trip. Varied, good hotels and the best trip leader. Francesca is
    kind, knowledgable, helpful.

Probably would have prefered 2 less cities to visit. This would have made
the trip a better pace and give us a chance to savour each place.
    Valley of temples.

    Super as mentioned above.
