For as long as she can remember, Ailish has wanted to travel. Her first backpacking trip was to India, where she felt completely lost in a chaotic land of new sights, sounds and smells. And she loved every minute. Since then she has spent every summer abroad, travelling through over 50 countries in various parts of Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. 

Ailish travels in search of fun adventures, interesting people, and cultures different to her own. She prefers to travel independently and explore off the beaten track. She believes that there is something to be learned and some fun to be had in even the worst of travel experiences. 

Some of her favorite travel memories include: 

Getting stranded at a local village when her boat sank on the way to Timbuktu. 

Taking a bath with an elephant in Nepal.

Partying on the beach during the full moon in Thailand. 

Camel trekking and sleeping beneath the stars in the Thar Desert, in India. 

Swimming with pink dolphins in the Amazon.

Learning to Tango in Buenos Aires.

Dancing the night away at a favela party in Rio.

Ailish's favorite trip was to Nepal and Northern India, an incredible part of the world with beautiful landscapes, warm people, fascinating culture, and incredible food. Most of her time here was spent teaching child monks at a monastery, though she did manage to take in a Himalayan trek and an elephant safari. She is thrilled to get a chance to return this year.

The next trip is a big one! Starting in Asia, taking in Nepal, Northern India, China and Mongolia, before heading to Southern Africa, then to South America, and heading north through Central America to hopefully reach the U.S. and Canada.
