A memorable trip

I loved this trip . The Tucano is a great little ship, and if the weather's good you can eat out on the top deck and watch the river and rain forest go by. The guides were terrific -- they knew the area well, and could tell you about the use of medicinal plants or even take you piranha fishing. There were plenty of opportunities to go on shore and occasionally we'd visit an isolated village. My only disappointment was that it's hard to spot wildlife, though we did see some of the famous pink dolphins, heard plenty of howler monkeys, and, at night, spotted some sloths in the tree by spotlight.

Viaje Al Fin Del Mundo

I was planning to travel to Patagonia for years but due to heavy work schedule, I had no chance to realize this Patagonia trip until my retirement. I found Across Argentina Travel Agency from internet and a young hard working man Sebastian Southwell worked very hard to fix an itinerary. He offered me a different payment plan that made me pay easily. When I arrived at Buenos Aires, Ms Carolina Simonian took care of me and she always got in touch with me during my 16 days of travel all over Patagonia. Regarding my trip, I was highly satisfied with the selection of Point of Interest, hotels selected were very comfortable and all showed me a high degree of hospitality. Local tours I participated were selected carefully, but I like to point out one point regarding with local tours, guides were good but they were giving information in Spanish longer than English then English speaking guests needed to ask questions to clarify subjects, this to be corrected. As a final words Across Argentina and their talented employees, Carolina and Sebastian made this trip ONCE IN A LIFETIME. I would like to thank Across Argentina and employees so much

Great trip organised by the team!

Great trip organised by the team! From the first moment, the team has been very responsive to our emails and the way the tour was setup exceeded our expectations. The help from the experience manager was very crucial in many circumstances (best example was that she organised to have a purse delivered from Argentina to Chile!!). All in all totally recommend Across South America for your next trip to Latin America!

Across South America were first class

Across South America were first class as they really listened to what we wanted and put together a truly wonderful trip across Argentina and Chile. This was no mean feat as our ‘wants’ included tango lessons. hiking. fly fishing and kayaking. The accommodation found for us was just perfect and we had the most amazing time. It was just so relaxing to know that everything was being handled for us.

Great place for kids

Great place for kids. If you want to have a birthday in East bay a place to consider. We celebrated our grandson's birthday here. It was a hit. Has several games. Staff were nice.

Patagonia Trip

Overall we had a terrific experience. With the exception of El Calafate, the accommodations were all exceptional. The 5 day cruise from Porto Arenas to Ushuaia, although expensive, was worth it. Exceptional weather for end of March also helped. Highlights were Bariloche, Puerto Natalas and Torres del Paine (Chile postcard peaks), and Glacier Alley on the cruise. Ushuaia showed what 50 mph winds look like but the perpetual rainbow made it a great final stop. Working with Lost World was a pleasure. They were very responsive and followed up on everything including the days of arrival and departure in every city.

I love this place!

I love this place! My 4 y/o daughter loves to play here. She always meets a new little friend everytime we come...it's cute. My only complaint would have to be the food. I paid $7.50 for an ice cream cookie. That's a bit insane! Especially since you can't bring in any outside food and you are forced to eat what they sell. Since that's the case, I would highly recommend selling better quality food. If we have to pay for it, at least make it worth it, right?

Amazing trip planning and execution

Urpi at Kuoda worked with our group for several months and several iterations to design the perfect trip to Cusco, Sacred Valley and the Inca trail trek to Machu Picchu. The personnel on the ground were super helpful and efficient; willing to accommodate our requests and always flexible to make our trip super memorable. Highly recommended for custom luxury travel in Peru!

Excellent attention by the entire Kuoda Staff. Private guide and driver that were phenomenal. They took care of us and insured our trip was amazing every step of the way.

I had never heard of this company until I found them on Stride Travel, so was a little nervous, but it was EVERYTHING and MORE than we hoped for. They surpassed our every expectation. They even made sure I was OK by getting me a doctor (who came to the hotel) when I became sick. If we ever travel to South America again, we will be sure to check with Kuoda first.

Very knowledgeable

I can't say enough about how great my experience was with Latin Adventures Tour. Our tour guide, Diageo, was great. Very knowledgeable, friendly and fun and just made our overall tour very enjoyable. Highly recommended and will definitely use again!

I really appreciated how well-organized this tour agency was, everything was always punctual and consistent with the agenda

I started off my week in Quito with a free walking tour offered by the company Latin Adventures. The meeting point was in the Historic center of the city and easy to find. I proceeded to do a couple day trips with Latin Adventures as well to the Volcano Cotopaxi and Laguna Quilotoa. I really appreciated how well-organized this tour agency was, everything was always punctual and consistent with the agenda. Eventually, I even went on the Amazon jungle tour that this agency offers. I can't recommend Latin Adventures enough to other travelers of all lifestyles and ages. Gracias

Magnificent scenery, wildlife animals and birds.

Antisana Volcano 1 day tour. We had a wonderfull day with our eminent guide Francisco and a beautifull hike on one of the good trails by the lake (lagoon). Magnificent scenery, wildlife animals and birds. We also had a delicous lunch with 4 courses at a small restaurant in the neighbourhood of the national park. We did not see all the tops of the volcanos, but we still had a perfect day. Thanks a lot. Aksel and Dagrun, Norway.

It is both responsible and meaningful travel. It will push you out of your comfort zone.

Anthony Bourdain once said the following "Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind." This accurately (and far more eloquently) describes how a trip with Julian and his company, Large Minority Travel, will leave you feeling. I've taken two trips with LM, Lanka Challenge Southern Route and India Rickshaw Challenge. Large Minority has completely changed the way I like to travel and it will do the same for you should you decide to go on one of their adventures. It is both responsible and meaningful travel. It will push you out of your comfort zone. You will: grow as a person, laugh, get frustrated, get lost, try things you never thought you would and you may even cry, the good kind of course. You will see unrivaled beauty and things that may break your heart. You will drink, dance, and stare at the stars. You may even catch a glimpse of an elephant. You will find your tribe and you will make friends for life. You will help local economies, schools, children, and villages. You WILL have the most epic vacation you've ever had and will come back for more. Cambo Challenge 2019? Family Tukster will be there. Will you?

Team and challenge based adventure holidays throughout parts of Southeast Asia and the Amazon. What Makes Them Stand Out? This is a unique kind of travel that involves a sense of adventure and competition. Similar to the Amazing Race, you are presented with checkpoints to reach and challenges to participate in along the way. While there is a large element of fun to their approach, they place a strong emphasis on helping and contributing to local communities. Some of their challenges are called “charity challenges” centered around creating as positive an impact as possible. Who Travels With Them? They are definitely geared toward younger travelers, in the 18-30 range. Activities are often physically challenging and the process definitely requires a sense of excitement about the unknown and figuring things out on the ground. Where Do They Operate? Their challenges are focused in SE Asia, and they also operate a challenge in the Amazon. The “Lanka Challenge” takes you in a rickshaw all around Sri Lanka (multiple routes are available). The “Cambo Challenge” takes place in Cambodia with you and a tuk tuk. One route with many fun activities and challenges along the way. The “Philippines Sailing Challenge” involves sailing the waters of the Philippines in a traditional “paraw”. The “Amazon Challenge” takes you into the jungle waterways in a variety of vessels. Why Travel With Them? Consider their tours as a more “down to earth version of the Amazing Race.” They are team based adventure tours, so you’ll definitely enjoy traveling with the more if you like being competitive and working closely with others toward a common goal. The common denominator of course is travel and adventure, so you’ll most likely have a lot in common with everyone from the get-go.

Great

A group of us from Wyoming just did the 5 day Hells Canyon trip with ROW. Great guides (Will, Bethany, Max, Trevor, and Connie) and excellent food. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Best Vacation Ever!

The Family Magic Trip down the lower Salmon River in August was AMAZING! The guides were awesome! So knowledgeable, funny, and resourceful. The food was better than most restaurants and my kids loved it (as did I)! The River Jester (Lily) was such a sweet yet stern and fun lady that kept the kids entertained and they loved her. They setup camp for us each day at these amazing beaches! I have never been rafting, and they were there to make it seem easy and doable! I loved that they taught us about the local history and environments. A stop at Spalding was awesome start to the trip! I enjoyed the paddle boats, inflatable kayaks, and the oar boats. I even became part of the swim team but it was a good experience having the guides there to ensure our safety. I loved cliff jumping, the short hikes, swimming the rapids, and swimming in the river with the kids. The time with friends and family was great. It was so relaxing and good to meet so many different people I feel that I can call my friends now. Best part was sleeping under the stars with my family hearing the rushing river next to us. The guides made the trip so personal and they were caring! Thanks so much Mark, Max, Connie, Jonas, Curtis, Lily, and Bethany! Absolutely recommend going on a trip with ROW and I plan to with my children again, it was worth every penny! Thanks Jason for helping plan the trip for me!

Just got back from my first whitewater rafting trip on the Lochsa and I'm hooked. My husband and I were both river newbies and we had a blast. All of the guides took very good care of us, the lunch was very good, but Eric is hands down the best guide ever!

Galapagos, Otavalo & Amazon Tour
Galapagos, Otavalo & Amazon Tour Trip Type: Private Guided
Established in 1979, by ROW Adventures began as a whitewater rafting company, which now offers many different kinds of active adventure trips. Their award winning trips have been featured in National Geographic Traveler’s “50 Tours of a Lifetime” and Travel and Leisure has named them one of the “World’s Best Tour Operators.” What Makes ROW Adventures Stand Out? ROW Adventures has grown over it's 30 years as a family owned business to include all sorts of adventure travel offerings. They have a high guest to guide ratio, and specialize in small, customized tours, highlighting history and culture with the help of authentic local connections. Most trips involve some camping, but lodge-based options as well - higher end lodging, motels, and ecolodges are available as well, depending on the location and type of trip. Who Will Enjoy Traveling With ROW Adventures? At first blush, ROW Adventures may seem to only be intended for hard core adventure travelers and adrenaline junkies. In reality, they are less niche focused - striving to create active tours that will appeal to a wide range of travelers. It’s not just about Class 4 rapids! If you are active travel minded, relatively physically fit, and enjoy being outside - you will definitely find a tour to enjoy with ROW Adventures. They cater heavily to families, as well as couples, and even retired-aged adults, provided you don’t require mobility assistance, as these trips usually involve walking, hiking, and being active in general. ROW is particularly well suited to travelers who maybe have hesitated to book active travel tours in the past out of fear that cultural travel experiences will not be included. Rather than focus 100% their time on active travel, ROW itineraries also do an impressive job of incorporating visits to historical attractions and cultural activities. Additionally, it’s not all camping and roughing it - ROW has a very wide range of accommodation styles available from glamping to more traditional hotels. Top Destinations Row offers trips on five continents, including North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Antarctica. Almost all trips take place on or around water, and many involve kayaking, rafting, or other multisport activities. Among some of the most popular activities offered are sea kayaking in Baja, kayaking with Orcas in British Columbia, and they are the world's only tour operator through which guests can beach camp inside of the Galapagos National Park. ROW Adventures Travel Style While some of the main activities you’ll experience on most ROW trips are of course water based given their name, they also offer safaris, biking, and hiking trips. For those who can’t make up their minds, multisport itineraries are also available. Many trips utilize self-powered means of transportation, either sea kayak or raft. Others are cruise or yacht-based, hiking-based, or are supported by gear boats. All trips are accompanied by an extensive support staff. In fact the impressive guide to guest ratio on ROW Adventures trips is a huge plus for travelers. Accommodations on ROW Adventures trips are quite varied depending on the trip theme, time of year, and budget. You can find everything from luxury yachts in Croatia to camping the stars along the Idaho River. Why Choose a Tour with ROW Adventures? Whether you are a thrill seeker or just dipping your toe in the waters of adventure travel, ROW has the trip for you. With their focus on authentic local experiences, highly qualified guides, and intent to make each trip as special and personalized as possible, they are one of the best choices available for your next adventure trip.

Enjoyed a fantastic 2 Day

We thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic 2 Day Inca Trail Trek tour led by Hipolito and Maribel. Everything from the booking process to the pretrek briefing was clear and simple. There were 11of us in the group, and the guides made sure we were all taken care of and that we all enjoyed the hike, while still keeping it challenging. The stories about each ruins we saw along the way and facts about the local floral kept the trek interesting. The view when we finally reached the Sun Gate made it all worth it. I highly recommend Action Peru and Hipolito as your guide for future adventures in Peru.

I had an awesome time with Tours4Fun and it was a good tour

Tours4Fun seemed to match the dates that my cousin and I were looking for exactly and was in the price range as well. We were doing a complete search through as many tour groups that were covering those locations that we wanted to do. We wanted to start in Paris, which was awesome that it started there. We wanted to hit all the places that were included in the tour such as Switzerland, South of France, Italy and Venice. The online purchase experience with Tours4Fun was quick, very easy and convenient. The website was easy to understand and there were no difficulties at all. I wasn't clear about something to do with the payment and I contacted their customer service through chat and they got back to me quickly and cleared up any issues or miscommunication that I had. I had an awesome time with Tours4Fun and it was a good tour. Everything was on a bus. We were a bit wary about that and the long bus rides. The tour was a lot larger than what we were used to. They had to combine two groups, the Vietnamese group and our group but they gave us a heads-up about it. We were a little concerned about that because they had the Vietnamese people translating and then us. However, it wasn't even a big deal because the tour guides were awesome as well as how they handled the group. The people, the information and how they took care of our luggage for us and the accommodation were all amazing. Everything was top-notch for us, especially given how much we paid for the tour. We were expecting it was gonna be pretty budget considering what we paid but everything was of great quality and we had absolutely no complaints. The itinerary was awesome. We are the kind of people that pick up and go and we wanted to do a lot, visit so many cities, in a short amount of time. We were literally in a different city every night, which was really cool. Some people don't like that but if people that I know are ready to go and live out of their suitcases so that they could maximize the time that they are there and see a lot, I would recommend the whole thing. The locations that Tours4Fun chose for each place were amazing. There were little towns that we stopped in between France and Italy that I never even heard of, and I was like, "Wow." The locations that they chose were thought out well.

Very helpful and very pleasant.

We were in Las Vegas and decided we wanted to do the Grand Canyon. The online purchasing experience was easy, although I was nervous because it took a while for me to get a confirmation. I had not ever booked anything like that online. We made the arrangements before we left, then I had to wait for the people to call me. They said they would call 24 hours before, but I finally made a phone call because I was nervous. Sometimes you wonder if these things are scams but it was fine. When I made the phone call, I talked to the booking agent. She had only been on the job for about a day and she was very helpful and very pleasant. She got the information for me and told me that we were staying at the Wynn and we had to go across the street from where we were staying.

Everything went smoothly

I went online and googled Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas. I called to ask a few questions just to clarify a couple of things and we liked the price. We didn’t wanna stay overnight and we wanted it all in one day. Tours4Fun was one of the few that stopped at Hoover Dam and at the Grand Canyon. We wanted to stop at both. They delivered everything they promised. We got where we wanted to go. We spent plenty of time at the canyon and they didn’t rush us out of there. We also made a stop for lunch. Though they got us back to our hotel about 10 minutes later than we thought, everything went smoothly. I would recommend Tours4Fun.

One stop shop for finding tours and activities, from one day to multi-day, during your travels at affordable prices. What Makes Them Stand Out? A large variety of short trips (many trips are two day packages) around the world. They are an aggregator of lower priced tours, however don’t take the advertised prices at face value. Tours are one to three days, and they highlight a number of US city tours, adventurous locations such as Machu Picchu and Costa Rica, and classic tours such as in Paris and Rome. Large cruises are offered as well. Who Travels With Them? Be forewarned: their tours are almost entirely conducted in Mandarin! English speakers will not get a fully satisfying experience. But if you do speak Mandarin, their tours are well suited for young single travelers, families, and friend groups. A number of their trips are shorter, from one to three days in some cases. Where Do They Operate? You’ll be able to find tours all over the world, except for Antarctica, with an emphasis on the United States. How Does it Work? You want to be on the lookout for several hidden fees behind their lower than average tour prices. Even if you choose not to participate in certain activities, you will still be charged for them. They use bus transportation, and simple but comfortable accommodation. Food choices are similarly basic.   Why Travel With Them? If you speak Mandarin and are looking for a two to three day add on to a larger vacation, they could be a good option. Be careful when selecting a trip because additional fees may apply. Tours range from large to small groups, and include meals, transport, and accommodation - previous travelers warn that buses are cramped and don’t provide much leg room. Accommodations are in three star hotels - comfortable but not overly special.

The customer service was excellent

When I booked with Great Value I was nervous because it seemed too good to be true. Nope, just a really great deal. I was able to take my dream trip to Ireland and Scotland and it was within my budget. Everything was covered, my lodging, flights, and rental car. There was no hidden fees, or fine print that would nickel and dime me later on, as "good deals" usually have. I also had to change the date of my trip and the customer service was excellent and this change was simple. Thank you Great Value, I'll be using you every time I travel from now on

Our trip was amazing!

This was my first time planning a trip out of the country. I read previous reviews who had a good experience with Great Value Vacation. Our trip was amazing! The booking and reservations were easy to use with the vouchers provided. The staff was helpful. The only downside was I upgraded to have an automatic vehicle and they gave me a stick shift. It took a while to get sorted out but other than that I loved my trip! I will definitely use great value vacations again when I book my next trip. I opted for the additional wine tasting package and I did not regret it! I recommend adding those additional tours to get a more complete experience.

Everything on the trip was excellent.

Everything on the trip was excellent. The only concern with any services from GVV was initial communications ahead of the trip regarding when and how we'd receive all our travel vouchers, as some were available online, and some were to be picked up in country upon arrival. It took no less than 5 phone calls to learn some vouchers would be picked up in country. The trip was outstanding, exhausting, but gloriously beautiful. It was exhausting from the perspective of moving around the country and only a few places were 2 nights. But, we knew that going in, and we wanted to see ALL of Switzerland and this certainly checked those boxes. We saw majestic mountains, we saw countless waterfalls and glaciers. The trains in Switzerland were all clean and we felt safe. The hotels were good with delicious breakfasts each morning. Overall, I would recommend GVV to a friend or family member and I would personally book another vacation with GVV.

Italy Monograms Trip

Hands down this was the smoothest any vacation, local or abroad, has gone for me. Monograms did not miss a thing, from the nice hotels to the friendly local hosts. We would have missed so much had we booked a trip by ourselves. The local guides were also top notch, with a clear high reputation among their colleagues and in the city with which they live. With that, we felt like royalty with drivers picking us up in a Mercedes each time. The whole trip was professional, information and enjoyable. Monograms has my business moving forward.

Scary part of Paris and horrible customer service!!

DO NOT USE THEM!!! We trusted Monograms to book our vacation. They put us in a very sketchy part of Paris. We got MUGGED literally right around the corner from the hotel. There are also homeless people sleeping on beds on the sidewalk. We called Monograms customer service and they told me to calm down. Excuse me, did you just pay thousands of dollars to get mugged because your hotel is in a part of Paris full of hoodlums? Then their customer service rep put me on hold for 15 minutes and never came back on the line. My wife called back and the guy basically said it's the weekend, we can't do anything. DO NOT USE MONOGRAMS. My wife has been looking forward to this vacation for six months and now is afraid to leave the hotel. A lady on the sidewalk says this happens in this part of town ALL THE TIME. Last night we stayed at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand, and I can tell you in that district I saw no homeless people sleeping on the street, no muggings and lots of police. Oh, by the way, we paid extra for the upgraded hotel option; I'd hate to see their standard pick.

Monograms, one of the Globus family of brands, offers classic vacation packages to many of the world’s most popular destinations. The company has many years of experience creating packaged tours and is based in Colorado, USA. What Makes Monograms Stand Out? It can be difficult to find a company that successfully marries two seemingly disparate ways of travel: independant or self guided and classic group travel. But at Monograms this is exactly the task they have set for themselves, and their positive reviews and large variety of products would seem to say they do a solid job. With Monograms there is no need to choose between self guided or group travel. You can personalize your experience as well - an important element for many of today’s travelers. Themes include Family travel, Food & Wine, Cruises, and Active. Monograms prides themselves on the all-inclusive nature of travel planning, pre-organizing everything from your airport transfer to your activities and meals. They also provide a Local Hosts program, which is basically like an in-destination concierge. Who Will Enjoy Traveling With Monograms? Monograms is ideal for travelers who don’t love group travel but also highly dislike the stress of arriving in a destination and having to plan everything themselves. It’s for the traveler who wants the freedom of a private couple or family getaway and the comfort of a local guide who can assist with everything from restaurant recommendations to skipping the line at major attractions. Monograms is Globus’ mid-tier brand in terms of pricing and thus travelers span across many different age groups. Many couples choose Monograms for a romantic trip to places like Italy and France, although they also offer specialized packages for families. Most Monograms packages are a mix of group sightseeing tours and independent exploration. This can result in some very large touring groups when visiting popular tourist attractions like the Louvre in Paris, for example. However, most of their trips still afford some level of flexibility to explore a destination on your own terms. Top Destinations You can travel with Monograms to many different locations in Europe, Australia, Asia, South/Central America, and Africa. Perhaps their most well-known destination is Italy, and they also offer some unique trips to Australia, specifically to areas other similar tour companies don’t operate. Monograms Travel Style At Monograms, their travel style is about providing you with a no hassle private vacation, catered to your interests. Everything from honeymoon vacations to family vacations are available through Monograms. When you use Monograms, you can elect to have the help of a travel agent, or book a pre-planned package. Why Choose a Monograms Tour? For a well rounded trip, designed for you, and with an attentive local host there to make your journey as seamless and stress free as possible, Monograms is the perfect company. These tips are mostly private, so ideal for families, couples, and honeymooners - though during some days on the itinerary you will join up with a larger group for guided day tours Monograms is all about providing personal touches, and arranging a trip for you that matches your travel style. Providing some personal input and likes / dislikes / must sees is going to take your Monograms tour from “ordinary” to extraordinary, so these trips are best suited to travelers who like to be involved with planning the itinerary.

Avalon transport to hotel

We came at the airport in amsterdam, the driver came to pick us up in a FORD station car, What a Joke. A small simple car. We expect a Mercedes, BMW or Audi, at least a great German car. The driver was friendly, but how Can they send a bad old car like that ? I could better take a Tesla outside the airport

Cancelled Cruise

We had booked a Danube River Cruise for April 2019 and we had to cancel due to a family emergency. Our travel agent, Cruise Planners in Charleston and Avalon were absolutely FABULOUS about helping us cancel our reservation and were very understanding and sympathetic to our issue. If we plan another trip in the future, I will not hesitate to use both companies again.

Part of the Globus family of travel brands since 2003, Avalon Waterways has proven to be one of the more innovative of the many river cruise companies now in operation. Its newest “Suite” ships feature “open-air balconies” with floor-to-ceiling windows that open up to serve as indoor-outdoor seating areas, which don’t cut into cabin space as do normal balconies -- meaning you have more room to move around. Bathrooms are also roomy. What Makes Avalon Waterways Stand Out? While global in scale, Avalon Waterways is best known for offering high-end cruises on brand new ships on European rivers. The oldest of the 15 Europe-based ships dates from just 2008, which makes it the youngest fleet of any size on European rivers. Newer ships generally mean that staterooms are larger and amenities are enhanced. Who Will Enjoy Traveling with Avalon Waterways? While the majority of river cruise travelers are in the 50-plus range, more and more middle aged couples have been enjoying river cruises as well. Avalon is a good place to start, particularly for the more exotic destinations like the Mekong in Asia or the Amazon in South America. Travelers seeking a luxury minded cruise experience, without an overly pomp and circumstance feel, will love cruising the world’s rivers with Avalon. If you’re wary of river cruising as an extension of the “floating hotel”, Avalon makes sure that a focus on the region itself is felt onboard as well as through the port excursions. Local ingredients are used to make traditional dishes, and beer, wine, and spirits of the area are also showcased. Casual and comfortable, combining a relaxed atmosphere with a fine dining calibur food and wine, Avalon presents a quiet elegance without being stuffy. Travelers who like choice will appreciate Avalon’s numerous options when it comes to port excursion activities. Starting in 2019 and unlike many cruises, a majority of these excursions will be included in the price.   Top Destinations Avalon is well known for their Europe cruises, but they travel all over the world as well.  They have five ships in Asia (sailing the Yangtze, Mekong and Irrawaddy rivers), and one ship each in the United States (the American Queen, which sails the Mississippi) and South America (the Aria, which plies the Amazon). Avalon runs small-ship cruises through the Galapagos Islands as well. Avalon Waterways Travel Style The comfort of their passengers is top of mind for Avalon. Whether this means the spacious viewing deck or numerous excursions available to satisfy different interests. There is a sense of casual elegance that Avalon portrays. The culture on board is professional while still friendly, and the furnishings are not overly opulent. Another thing that makes Avalon stand out is their attention to staying active and healthy. They have been a frontrunner in river cruises providing bikes and other ways to be active in each port stop. Why Choose a Cruise with Avalon Waterways? Avalon Cruises are comfortable, fun, and active. This is the perfect choice of cruise company for older affluent travelers seeking top notch river cruise experiences around the world. Considering the spaciousness and innovativeness of its cabins, the fact that shore excursions and multiple dining options are included in the rates, and a chance to take advantage of some attractive early-booking discounts, Avalon can offer excellent value.

Expect no help, ignored, no resolution if issue on tour occurs Rate 0

Rate 0, would never touch Globus or Cosmos tour again. Be warned if there is an issue with your tour - Don't expect Globus to help you or provide a resolution – care factor is nil. Don't risk it - don't buy Globus or Cosmos. Globus and CEO of Globus accepts and approves employee bad behavior - including lying, disrespect and mock client in front of them and putting the client health and safety at risk - I have proof in emails that support this. Had major trouble on a Cosmos 15 night trip in Sicily - 10 nights of 15 nights trip went through extreme stress and no resolution (not during the trip or after rectification). The tour guide was extremely unprofessional in behavior - lying to clients repeating, tour guide was disrespectful, mock, belittle, laugh about and downgrade clients in front of them in Italian thinking they don't understand what you are saying (clients understood what was said and extremely upset), the tour guide and company ignore risks and forced two of the shared clients to share with another that was an issue (that person should not been allowed to purchase a twin share or should of been told to get own room on tour - sharing with this person posed WHS hazards with power cords hanging mid high across room for their medical equipment (trip hazard) and breach of privacy and access to basic amenities (sharing with a stranger twin share - where can't shut bathroom door to go to toilet or shower - as the only power point is in bathroom and her equipment had to be plugged in for life support). Multiple clients on tour complained to tour guide for 10 days and demanded another room, the tour guide did not deal with it and lied, also mocked and disrespected clients in front of them. While on tour multiple complaints emailed direct to Globus as governing body did nothing and swept it under the table and ignored it. Multiple complaints was lodge after trip as well - still no action or resolution, Multiple complaints alerting CEO of Globus (12 pages letter full examples, photos and correspondence - still no action and I specifically ask CEO questions Does the CEO accept staff bad behaviour and breach of code of conduct - approving Globus staff lying, disrespectful, mocking clients and in Italian too and a whole heap more - I received a call today and YES the CEO of Globus approves the bad behaviour of staff and clients being disrespecting, mocking, lying and more. I travel extensively all over the world for 28 years, no other Tour company does this - all other companies will resolve it. Don't risk it - don't use Globus or Cosmos - if you have an issue you wont get help. Use another tour company - there are plenty of good ones out there who will stand by their service.

Be aware of their online shop

Be aware of their online shop, they charge your card and then cancel your order. I first thought it was an error and contacted their customer service. They told me to reorder. I did so and again my credit card was charged and my order canceled. It's really a shame for Globus, almost a scam.

italian Escape is fantastic!

My husband and I and a good friend just returned from the Italian Escape in March. We travelled to Rome, Assisi, Florence, Pisa and Venice. What a great trip! Our excursions were wonderful- the Uffizi gallery, Tuscan dinner, Roman walking tour and Venice gondola ride. The tour guide Luca and Lucianna our bus driver did a very nice job. Our hotels, the Cicerone in Rome, the Grand Mediterraneo in Florence and Carlton on the Grand were very nice. (My favorite was the Grand Mediterraneo.) Our travel connection was Steve in Littleton, Colorado and he was outstanding making our flight AND trip plans. I was especially impressed with the expert planning on the part of a Globus. We saw so much in a weeks time, yet had plenty of time to experience Rome, Venice and Florence on our own. We arrived in Rome early the 1st day so we scheduled a Skip the Line tour to visit the inside of the Coloseum, as that wasn’t scheduled on the Globus tour. We are really glad we were proactive in that way. We HIGHLY recommend this Escape with Globus; we enjoyed it so much the week we got back we scheduled an Ireland Escape for later this year!

Globus’ roots date back to Switzerland in 1928, when the company’s founder, Antonio Mantegazza, bought a rowboat to carry passengers across Lake Lugano, entertaining them with stories about the local sights along the way. From that modest beginning, one of the world’s leading travel companies was born. Globus is part of the Globus Group of brands, which also includes Avalon Waterways, Cosmos, and Monograms - together they carry more than a half million passengers annually. What Makes Globus Stand Out? All inclusive packages Balanced itineraries between planned activities and free time Centrally located accommodation VIP access (skip the lines and get behind-the-scenes experiences!) Founded in 1928, one of the oldest in the business, they are well respected as a mass market all-inclusive tour company that provides great value. Want free wifi on your tour bus so you can google the interesting sites you pass by? Like convenient hotels centrally located and/or with special local charm? Globus' long experience has helped them learn what makes travelers happy, and they deliver at accessible prices. Offering inclusive, budget friendly coach tours, most notably in Europe, Globus is a classic escorted tour operator ideal for those travelers seeking a comfortable and fun travel experience.   Globus tours include mostly everything in their base rates, they choose hotels that are in the heart of a city (where the action is), allow a good amount of free time to explore a destination on your own, and use knowledgeable local guides -- in short, they offer the complete package. Who Will Enjoy Traveling with Globus? Ages 50+ Low and high budget travelers Those who enjoy slower paced itineraries Globus tours are heavily aimed at active older travelers, particularly recent retirees and baby boomers in the 50+ range, as well as seniors. You have a desire to relax and feel at home, able to linger and appreciate classic sights as well as perhaps enjoy a cappuccino at a local cafe suggested by your tour leader. You don’t want to be rushed or hurried from place to place, yet are attracted to the benefits of guided travel - logistics taken care of and a guide to help keep the itinerary moving. As a long-established, award-winning tour company Globus caters to both budget group travelers and those seeking a more personalized (and costly) travel package. And since you can choose among group, individual, family, or religious travel experiences lasting anywhere from four to 29 days, Globus tours appeal to a broad range of travelers. But their sweet spot remains middle-of-the-road ‘value’ travelers. Top Destinations Today, still family owned, Globus operates in 60 plus countries across the globe, offering nearly 160 different escorted tours to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the South Pacific, and North and South America. They are especially known for Europe and Canada Whether you're looking for vacation packages to Switzerland or the best Thailand tours, consider Globus. On European motor coach tours, Globus limits group size to 44, allowing for extra legroom on the bus. Globus Travel Style The Globus travel style is relaxed yet comprehensive. Group tours are designed to allow for personal time to explore, but with many pre-planned activities, excursions, and meals to enjoy throughout your vacation. Groups are medium size - and can accommodate large groups of friends or families. You’ll have the opportunity to meet new friends and like minded travelers. In Europe private tours are also available with Globus. for those looking to make this independent exploration possible to an even greater extent. An attentive Tour Director is never far away on a Globus trip. Globus tour directors are locals, who have input over the itinerary, lend their unique perspective, and take you to the best spots for meals, drinks, shopping, etc. They are also knowledgeable guides, introducing the culture and country’s history through visits to major sites and attractions. Globus travel style is about combining the best of “travel like a local” with the best of “classic tour sites”. Globus is not a luxury brand, but accommodations and transportation will be comfortable. Transportation is in large motorcoaches, equipped with wifi and large viewing windows. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Why Choose a Tour with Globus? Older active travelers not interested in slowing down just yet will appreciate the Globas approach. Globus makes amazing travel experiences reachable - for multiple budgets and styles. Super adventurous and independent minded travelers may be curious to explore other options before deciding on Globus. These kinds of fully escorted tours aren’t for everyone. You will have some free time, but most meals, excursions, and activities are inclusions in the price - leaving you somewhat out of luck if you don’t want to participate in a certain itinerary item. If you’re curious about group travel, other group tours provide more flexibility that could provide a more positive introduction to this style of travel. Globus offers many great perks for larger groups planning to travel. If you’re a group of eight people traveling together, you are eligible for special deals and discounts; and if you’re a group of 20 people, Globus will arrange a tailor-made itinerary for you. If you are a traveler looking for value tours and prefer a specific travel theme, then globus has trips and tours that are designed accordingly.

Great COSMOS value

I am a budget solo female traveler. I have traveled with COSMOS for about 20 years in the past, all over Europe, Switzerland, Turkey, etc. The best thing is that I never have to pay extra for single supplement when I room with someone. If Cosmos can not find a room mate for you, you end up having the whole room. Because of this feature, I was able to travel everywhere by my self with reasonable price. Cosmos always provides great value for the bucks. I would do it again. I highly recommend to you all.

Cosmos promises to “turn your travel dreams into reality” by offering affordable tours in several parts of the world. Part of the Globus group of travel brands, Cosmos has been running escorted tours for five decades since the 1960s. It touts its clout with hotels and other travel providers as a way of keeping down costs, with savings passed on to their customers. Most expenses are included in the tours, though you may be on your own for some meals and optional excursions. Cosmos started out offering value-priced European coach tours for budget-minded travelers, and now has added North American, South American, and some Middle East and North African destinations as well. Religious-themed tours of southern Europe and Israel as well as holiday season tours are all part of the mix. The company emphasizes that when you tour Europe, for example, you’ll stay like Europeans do, eat like Europeans do, and “share the European view of Europe.” That generally means comfortable but not luxury hotels, well-chosen neighborhood restaurants, varied means of transportation, and guided sightseeing of all the “must-see” sites, with extended stays in key cities. Cosmos also offers plenty of free time to explore on your own, a way of personalizing your group tour a bit.

Indus does NOT Disclose Key Aspects of Trip

Actually this is a review of A Taste of Portugal. Indus fails to fully answer questions prior to booking. It was not until we booked that we learned that the air travel "included in trip" was the Absolute Cheapest International Flight. We would need to pay $360 extra for luggage which is normally free for international flights. Also, that the cheapest flight WOULD NIOT PERMIT US TO UPGRADE THE INDUS FARE; choosing to upgrade would cost MORE than the full price advertised online. Un fortunately IT COST US $1000 to cancel this ripoff. Complaints to agent Rachel and Supervisor Tordes was fruitless. Had they answered the one question we asked "Can We Upgrade Flights?" we would not have booked. INDUS FAILED TO DISCLOSE TERMS; it cost us "suckers" $1,000. Richard Supinski

RUN!!!

Been a nightmare, and we haven't even left yet. And may not get to if Indus has it''s way. It's a long story, but I will try to keep it short. We booked our tour to Australia back in Nov/Dec 2018, paid the deposit, and then paid the remainder in Jan 2019. Indus sent me a receipt/invoice showing I owed ZERO now for the tour and that it was paid in full. Our tour is set to depart 4-16-19, and since Jan I have been thinking all is well and calling/emailing every so often to ask when our flights/travel docs will be issued. They kept telling me 45 days before the departure. Well guess what? Yesterday Tayna (my tour coordinator) contacts me and tells me that due to a "glitch" in THEIR computer they will not release my tour and travel documents unless I pay almost another $1700!!! And is it now about 3 WEEKS from departure, so I have very little recourse to do much. Seriously?!? I spent hours on email and calls trying to explain that they cannot just arbitrarily try to charge me more, especially since it was THEIR error. They just kept insisting that I had to pay the money or they would not issue my travel documents. I then found a policy, ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, that says they will not change the price after a final payment is made (which I did back in Jan 2019). I have forwarded all my documents, and the policy from the website, and have asked for either a full refund or issuance of my trip/travel docs. Tanya assured me yesterday that a manager was looking into this, and that I would have an answer by this morning. The next day, I got a call back from Tanya: they are refusing to give a full refund or release the trip unless I pay because they claim they didn't change anything (despite the fact that they are not demanding double what I've already paid) and that the new demand for additional payment does not constitute a price change; despite the documents I have from them with a zero balance since Jan 2019. This looks an awful lot like fraud, extortion, and illegal seizure of funds. I just want my money back at this point because I've been dealing with this since 3-20-19; and I honestly no longer feel that this company would be a safe one to travel with/through. If they acting like this, and doing these very questionable things, before I even leave; what in the world would they try to pull when I am no longer Stateside?!?

Addendum To Previous Review "RUN!!!"

This is an addendum to my previous review: The manager, Tordes, spoke with the owner and reached out to me on 3-27; we have agreed upon a mutual resolution and Indus has agreed refunded me in full.

Canadian based Indus Travel offers budget friendly tours around the world for everyone from adventurous travelers to families. Their mission is to offer quality tours at affordable prices while providing outstanding service to their clients and to earn their loyalty & operate their travel business in an environmentally responsible, ethical and sustainable way. What Makes Indus Travel Stand Out? customizable itineraries use of travel planners and local experts to help design your trip balance between sightseeing and local immersion Their most popular tour offering is what they term “Unbundled Tours” where you book a group trip - meaning better price, but have the power to then customize your experience along the way. Not everyone may want to see xyz, so their itinerary structure allows everyone to tailor their travel experience. And it helps you choose those experiences, accommodations, meals etc that are within your price range. This does mean you’re dependent on the Indus guides on the ground handling a lot of complicated individual schedules effectively. Indus reviews indicate that this isn’t always a smooth ride, and often confusions arise both on the part of the traveler and the Indus organizers. Indus travel planners are available to help you design an ultra customized journey, using local experts. If you’re looking for something classic and cultural on a budget, they are a great choice. They strive to create balanced itineraries that include classic sightseeing as well as unique and authentic stops. Who Will Enjoy Traveling With Indus? Budget travelers Travelers looking for options and flexibility Ages 18-30 Budget travelers looking for an exciting group trip, but with the flexibility to “choose your own adventure”. Group sizes are kept small and they are popular with couples and small family groups. This style of group travel doesn’t always go smoothly however, so you’ll enjoy the experience more if you have an opened minded attitude and are ok with occasional changes on the ground. Indus crafts travel experiences with cost efficiency in mind, so if you’re expecting something more premium, Indus might not be for you. Top Destinations They organize trips around the world; top custom tour destinations include India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Dubai, Peru. Excursions in destination depend largely on what you and your travel companions decide you want to see and do. Indus Travel Style The Indus travel style is about combining the best of independent travel with packaged travel. They will help arrange flights and accommodations, and your input creates a curated experience for your meals and activities. Hotels are usually in the 3 star range. They use a combination of public transportation such as ferries, trains, and buses, as well as their own coaches. These are comfortable, but usually with few upscale amenities. The max number of people on their tours is 22 according to the website, however be forewarned that several reviews state they had over 30 people on their tour. If group size is a very important factor for you when selecting a tour, you might want to consider looking around before deciding on Indus. Why Choose a Tour With Indus? If you are a budget traveler interested in a cost cutting travel solution, Indus is a great choice. Because they are specifically designed to be budget friendly, this does mean you might have to put up with some quirks along the way, so an easy-going attitude is good to have if choosing Indus. While their sales and customer service teams have some negative reviews, their guides on the ground are generally found to be knowledgeable and helpful.

Adventure Smith was exceptional. Antarctica 21 corporate office was deplorable.

Adventure Smith was so helpful throughout-- from initial info to booking the trip to answering questions to helping us once Antarctica 21 cancelled our Mom's trip. But Antarctica 21 corporate office was deplorable. This review is in two parts: a) Antarctica 21 corporate office and b) Antarctica 21 on ship team. The overall headline: Think carefully before you share medical information with Antarctica 21--- as they can and will cancel your trip with no warning, no refund, and no recourse. My mom, brother, and I booked with Antarctica 21 (A21) in February 2018 with an initial deposit and paid for the remaining balance in Sept 2018 for a late Jan-early Feb 2019 Antarctic cruise. We booked through Adventure Smith Explorations (ASE)—who were amazingly helpful throughout. Mom completed the A21 travel and health information when we each paid the trip deposit in Feb 2018, and she disclosed that she was in her early 80s and on anti-coagulant medication. Mom’s doctor also certified in writing to A21 that she was fit and able to take this trip. Then, 20 days before the start of the cruise in late Jan 2019, A21 sent an email to cancel Mom’s trip and refused to refund her $11,995 cruise price—citing medical concerns. We were stunned. When we asked the A21 representative to clarify which medical concerns led them to cancel Mom’s trip, she cited Mom’s age and use of anti-coag--- but all of this had been disclosed a year prior when the trip deposit was first paid in Feb 2018. Our representatives from ASE tried to appeal with A21, but to no avail. A21 flatly refused our offer for both of Mom’s doctors, whom she had visited within 40 days prior to the cruise, to provide additional fitness certification. A21 stated that no further information would be accepted and that their decision to remove Mom from the cruise was final. My brother and I left for the trip without Mom, although this was supposed to be a memorable family trip together. On board, as we shared our experience with other passengers, people readily described their own medical conditions and were appalled that our Mom was not allowed on the cruise. Many of the 50-80 year old passengers said they were also on anti-coag and had various medical issues. At least six people told us they had significant health issues-- one had extensive knee surgery 3 weeks prior to the cruise, another had a stint placed in her heart a week before the cruise, two people had fused spines and very limited mobility, two others walked with canes and needed assistance. Three of the A21 team on board the ship told us directly that Mom had been too honest in noting that she took anti-coag. Many other passengers, including the six with major health issues and those on anti-coag, said they had not shared any of their conditions with A21. The last day of the cruise, we spoke with the cruise manager, and at first she would not give us any information about the decision or contact information at their corporate office. Several hours later, she reconsidered and shared one contact information at their Santiago corporate office, but she discouraged us from meeting with their team in Punta Arenas in person. Also: Be careful with travel insurance. Mom paid over $1,800 for travel insurance for the trip. However, the insurance company denied her claim for reimbursement when A21 canceled her trip. A21 refused to put any reason in writing for us to use with the travel insurance claim. Most thankfully, Adventure Smith Expeditions reimbursed Mom the price of the cruise of $11,995, although Mom still lost the airfare to and from USA to Punta Arenas, Chile. Adventure Smith Expeditions deserves my most stellar recommendations for their help and information throughout our initial booking, during the trip, and once we returned. Part 2 of the review: Onboard with A21: If you are able to take the trip, the on-board experience with A21 is good quality. My brother and I enjoyed the trip, although it was deeply bittersweet without Mom. The landscape, wildlife, and pristine Antarctic views were truly amazing. Many other reviews describe the actual cruise experience well, so I will be brief on this. A21 used the Ocean Nova ship for our cruise. The ship is well laid out, the ship staff (including captain, dining, and cleaning teams) were very helpful, rooms are tiny and spartan but as advertised, all public areas were very clean, and food quality is reasonable. The A21 tour manager (admin and logistics), expedition manager (excursion leader) and guides on board are enthusiastic, and many of the guides have extensive experience in the Antarctic and are happy to talk with passengers. With ship activities, including two landings on average each day, we stayed busy with information briefings and excursions plus three meals. A21 has other ships, including a new one they will launch in 2020, so look at the options carefully. This cruise option on the Ocean Nova worked well for us, with just 70 passengers for a smaller group although more modest accommodations. As noted above, definitely buy travel insurance, as our flight from the Chilean military base back to Punta Arenas was delayed two days given bad weather, and we stayed on the boat during this time. A21 has some of the same investors as DAP, the airline for these flights, so our ship had priority with DAP once flights resumed, while other ships (major tour companies, researchers, etc) had to wait further. Travel insurance covered my revised ticket home, hotel in Punta Arenas, and other minor expenses, which were all more than the cost of travel insurance.

Poor attention to detail

I've already left one review - not sure why it's not showing. The agent I dealt with at this company had the worst attention to detail and no idea about timeliness of responses. The management buried their head in the sand and did not respond to 1 complaint either before or after the trip. The purpose of using an agent is yo make your holiday experience stress free - but I left home with a sense of dread of what was to go wrong - and many things did. Will never use them again.

The ship is beautiful and comfortable

We would highly recommend an Amazon Rainforest Cruise through Rainforest Cruises. We had a five-day cruise on the Delphin III. The ship is beautiful and comfortable and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They have all grown up in river villages in the general area so can speak extensively about the customs, foods, wildlife, the rivers, plants, etc. It was a great experience and we saw very few mosquitoes and were not uncomfortable in the heat and humidity. Our trip was at the end of February, 2019. The water was very high and that made navigation very easy. We loved it! The food was wonderful on board. The accommodations were luxurious.

Never dealt with an agent with such poor attention to detail

I booked a group charter in the Galapagos with Rainforest cruises at the start of May. In addition I, and a number of other couples from the group booked additional travel pre/post cruise - so a fair bit of money went through the company. My complaint is not with the product- they knew their hotels, tours etc, but when you get an itinerary that includes an activity on 31 April - warning bells go off. In the whole lead up to the trip there were so many errors in the itinerary that I had to pick up. The final version was only sent 1 week before departure limiting any proper review. I had members of my group forever chasing the agent for details and information. I raised this multiple times with the company managers but with no response. During the trip we turned up at one airport expecting to be met - but the hotel had no record of our booking. Itinerary details were misrepresented (e.g. a 3 day experience was arriving at 4pm one day, having the next day and then leaving 7.00am the next day - absolutely false advertising). I have tried dealing with the company outside of a forum such as this, but I have worked out they just don't respond. I sent a letter to management on 24th But have had absolutely no response at all. I run a small business and would NEVER treat my clients in such a way - but I am learning that silence seems to be the Sth American way of dealing with things - although with head quarters in USA I mistakenly thought American service would count for something.

it was an Amazing experience!

I did the 4 days Inca Trek with Trexperience and it was an amazing experience! Our guide, Charly, was very nice company and he told us many things on the way about different Inca sites, the nature and its animals and flowers und peruvian and Inca Culture in general. The night before the trip, Charly came to our place for a briefing about the upcoming hike and about all the things we should or shouldn't take, so we felt very well prepared. The next morning we were picked up at the Hotel and drove with a minivan to the starting point of the tour. On the way we visted a little school, that now can afford some computers with internet connection that because they are supported bei Trexperience, which was very nice to see! When the hike started it was a great journey. The breathtaking scenery during the hike was absolute worth the challenging walk. We were perfectly supported by the Trexperience crew of porters and a cook. They provided absolutey everything we needed and more. The food was absolutey stunning and I wouldn't have thought these were meals cooked on a mountain without a proper kitchen. The service of the porters, the cook and the guide was absolutely worth the price, the work they do really is incredible. For that reason I was very happy to see, that Trexperience is a company which cares for their porters and provided equipment for them and treats them well - unfortunately not every company we saw on the way did this... All in all I can absolutely recommend Trexperience for the Inca Trail in Peru and in general I can recommend the Inca Trail, it is an unforgettable amazing experience! Many thanks from Germany and many greetings to Charly and the whole crew:)

A truly amazing experience

I highly recommend booking TreXperience for all your Peru adventures. My sister and I did the 2 day Day guided tours from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. TreXerience provided get end-to-end service. All Machu Picchu permits and bus/train tickets were booked and confirmed in advance. TreXerience called me at my hotel the night before to go over our Machu Picchu hiking logistics. Our guide, Charlie, was prompt to pick us up at the hotel at 8:00am. Charlie was extremely cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable, and took care of us throughout the whole trek. He timed our 8-hour hike to arrive at Machu Picchu after most tourists left, and we had Machu Picchu all to ourselves for photos and more. Thank you for a truly amazing experience in Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. I highly recommend requesting our guide Charlie and booking TreXerience for all your Peru adventures.

Our agent was responsible and flexible and put together a nice package for our relatively short trip. It was a great balance of time on our own to explore and time with a guide. The only minor issue was in getting the written itinerary cleaned up so that it clearly reflected our travel plans. I would definitely use this company again. The local tour company (drivers and guides) were great.  They were friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible.  It was great to have people who grew up in the area and who had also been well-trained in the history and culture.  However, the most enjoyable part of the trip was our stay at Sol y Luna.  This is a treasure of a hotel tucked away on a nondescript side street in the Sacred Valley.  Words can't even describe how wonderful it was.  I've traveled all over the world, and I've never stayed at a hotel this nice for a reasonable price.
