This was the first time we have been to Costa Rica and the first time we have done an organized tour. We decided to join the tour for the convenience of planning, the ease of travel within the country, and the opportunity to learn more about the region from the tour guide. We were not disappointed in our decision. Travelstrides and Exodus made the process of booking very easy and we were impressed with our tour guide, Jonathan, who was amazingly well versed in Costa Rica's history, culture, natural wonders and wildlife. The tour provides an excellent overview of all Costa Rica has go offer. We especially enjoyed the cloud forest and the beach. The people that serced us in hotels, restaurants and shops were very kind and welcoming. Our travel companions on the tour were very pleasant company and well traveled. Our only disappointment was that the hotels were not quite as "premium" as we'd been led to believe. Also, this tour had a pretty intense focus on bird watching, which was interesting but tended to slow the pace of things.

A great diversity in scenery a true tour of contrasts. Differences between countries from architecture to wildlife to unwinding on tropical beaches and exploring Mayan culture.
All this was brought about by having an extremely informative and organised leader in Tomas and the wonderful company of my fellow travellers.
