Aswan Itineraries

A wonderful mixture of the ancient world and modern life. From pyramids, temples and tombs to a felucca, homestay and overnight train, the variety gave us a wonderful flavour of Egypt then and now.

The trip is amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone. The highlights for me were visiing the Great Pyramid at Giza and the Nile cruise.

Everything, there is not 1

This trip had so many brilliant highlights-Going deep into the Red Pyramid, the eternal peacefulness of sailing on a felucca, on the River Nile, or seeing the Abu Simbel temples at dawn. But the real highlight - and what made our trip special - was our Tour Leader, Sayed.
Sayed was simply brilliant, and I really hope he gets to see this feedback too, as he thoroughly deserves the highest praise. We arrived around midnight at our Cairo Hotel, but he had a handwritten note oft welcome, room numbers, mobile numbers, etc for us. To have such a well qualified and informed Egyptologist, as our guide, who had also undertaken archaeological digs, was phenomenal. His knowledge of Egyptian culture and history was so impressive. I think he struck the exact balance between giving us information and allowing us time to look around for ourselves. As a former teacher, I know that this is not easy to judge, but he made it look simple.
He also had a lovely, warm sense of humour, was happy to talk about his own family and attitude to Muslim life. His discussion session on the boat about Muslim life was very interesting, and he did not shy away from controversial topics such as terrorism, FGM and conservative values coming up against modern life.
He gave us the chance to go to Egyptian restaurants and markets, always offering good advice. I very much appreciated his help in organising extra excursions, such as the light Show and the Hot Air Balloon ride.
As an ex History Teacher, who has organised residential group trips, over several days, I was impressed by his tireless enthusiasm and organisation. Great that he took away all the hassle of tipping people.
It was clear from meeting other guides, that he is very well respected and admired by his peers. Rightly so.

Perfect itinerary balancing amazing sights with ample time for relaxation on an absolutely beautiful boat!
