The two Intrepid treks I’ve been on (Peru and Papua New Guinea) are run by local people, and they took me to local places. I learnt something about locals’ lives; and the land I was visiting became richer than just scenery. I wasn’t simply looking out from the window of a bus. If you want to be immersed into the daily life of the place you’re visiting, I highly recommend Intrepid tours.

The Kokoda Track

This trip was probably the hardest thing I have ever done, but the feeling of accomplishment once arriving at Owers' Corner can't be beaten. The porters are amazing and were always there for assistance, and even carried all my stuff too. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!!

Doing the Kokoda track was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone and there were many good things about the intrepid group however there were a few things it was lacking as well. I loved that it was a small group, Our Historian was awesome, the porters were awesome but there are a few small things could be improved on. 1 - Services should be conducted. 2 - There should be enough tents for everyone. 3 - The final dinner should be included as part of the trip.

The Kokoda Track trip was fantastic. It was very different to any other trip previously taken. The history and local knowledge was fabulous and the small trekking group was most appealing to us when booking this trip.
