Cycling for food and wine lovers - self guided tour

From the moment we met Alan we felt confident and comfortable that this trip will be great and it was ! Great bikes, good advice, long lunches on route (made for relaxed short afternoon ride !), accommodation and food kept getting better and better. Wonderful trip, as energetic as you want it to be. The Spanish people are wonderful, the area you ride is diverse, interesting, full of history and culture. We loved our food and wine and trip cycle went from Fawlty Towers quirky fun dinners to stunning cuisine and wines. It caters for all tastes. A good, fun cycle in an amazing area. Read more

Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Holidays

A Sacred Ride can't be experienced or expressed in words on some Google review.

I've been to a few clinics around Ontario, and decided to go all out and join their BC Single Track trip last year. Man, what a liberating experience!

Awesome guides, awesome rides that the average person would never find. A truly once in a life time experience.

Simple. If you want a ride you'll never forget, pick the one on their website you think fits for you and just do it!

I promise you it won't be your last with Sacred Rides.

Rick Hirschegger, Ontario Canada.

This is a family that fell in love with Peru! Our trip in the Andes was the stand-out of our itinerary, and we even muse about what it might be like to live in Ollantaytambo or nearby for awhile January 1970

Family Adventure in Peru

First of all, the logistics such as all the air travel, ground transport here and there, hotels, food, etc., went without a hitch and worked perfectly for us. The main thing that "made" the trip was, however, our guide. You have a gem there in Renee Flores-Solis, and by the end, we were navigating a relationship that felt part expert guide/part friend. Renee's delivery of archeological and historical Peru was backed up with books provided and museum walks that illustrate various events. His interpretation rings authentic and "real"with us, and we had many hours of conversation about the re-taking of one's heritage. Fascinating and empowering. Our children learned SO much this way. Our Macchu Pichu days were amazing too. He knew exactly how to tackle this site, and we spent a beautiful day there, and even have photos at Mapi with NO one in them due to Renee's planning of crowd avoidance. We imagined Renee's own 12 y.o as we watched his affectionate, playful, and fatherly interactions with our own boys and they adored him. Read more

Trails of Vietnam - a cultural delight August 2016

Trails of Vietnam

An amazing trip giving you a wonderful insight into Vietnam.
We saw all sides of Vietnam - from the frenetic city of Hanoi to the stunning natural wonder of Halong Bay with a visit to the beautiful farming regions.
Highlights included;
Amazing food in interesting places
Having tea with a local family in the mountains and learning about rice farming
Sailing and swimming in Halong Bay
Touring the beautiful temples of Hue, exploring the outlying villages and having an oscar-worthy reenactment of farming traditions from the lady at the museum.
Seeing the beautiful city of Hoi An lit by lanterns at night time
Visiting the fascinating Cu Chi tunnels
Sailing through the Floating markets in the Mekong Delta
Having children running out to greet you as you cycle through villages in the Mekong Delta
Having an impromptu cooking lesson at the homestead in Mekong Delta
Watching fireflies whilst swinging gently in a hammock after a delicious dinner
Our group leader, Thom, was excellent - he ensured we were entertained at all times and constantly sought out extra activities for us. He fitted in well with the group and had a great sense of humour.
Thom was very enthusiastic in his love of Vietnam and we learned a great deal about the culture and history of this fascinating country.
I would advise taking a sleeping bag liner for the homestays and overnight train (it is an interesting experience!) and plenty of hand sanitiser/wet wipes.
Get yourself a Non La on arrival - they are the best way to keep cool in the sun.
Definitely worth investing in a camel pack to keep your drinking water cooler on hikes/cycle rides.
Take as empty a suitcase as you can - if you need more clothes just buy them there (cheaper than laundry and they are fantastic quality)
Book it! The country is beautiful, the people are lovely and this trip is excellent value for money. It may seem a bit like a whistle stop tour but I found it was just long enough to get a taster of each unique area.
