Head of Product

Your Opportunity

As Stride’s head of product, you will work with the CEO and a team of developers and designers and a junior PM to create and improve engaging and satisfying user experiences through new platform features for both travelers and travel companies. You will manage the roadmap, set milestones, and ensure that our engineering team is producing quality deliverables.

To succeed in this role, you must possess a unique blend of Product, UX, design, business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive and organization to make that vision a reality with a roll-up-the-sleeves ‘get it done’ attitude. Role

As our key product evangelist, you will define product strategy while integrating our platform with third-party APIs. You will also work directly with our CTO and Head of Marketing to create the ultimate end-user experience, managing the look and feel of our products, and developing new ideas through research and testing. You will dramatically scale Stride's core SEO features through UGC, other content, and generating backlink-worthy content and functionality.

Your Goals

1. Grow new users (travelers) from organic search by 10X+ in 12 months

2. Grow retention, LTV, and user engagement by 3X+ in 12 months

3. Improve ROI of time and money spent on all product activities

4. Increase new users from sharing features

5. Improve engagement features, messaging and acquisition tactics by listening and interpreting customer feedback with the Product team

 

Your Core Responsibilities

• Manage product development lifecycle from concept to design to QA to user testing
• Collaborate with engineers, including a remote team, to hit sprint deadlines
• Create wireframes and pixel perfect designs to meet business needs balancing UX, SEO, CRO and other business goals
• Work with CEO to set product vision, development priorities and goals and coordinate across different functional teams
• Create beautiful public facing web pages that delight users and achieve business goals
• Bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex product designs
• Generate prototypes at a very fast pace and iteratively make them better
• Analyse feature usage data, user behaviour and feedback to improve user experience

Functional Expertise

• Agile and Scrum methodologies
• SEO
• Wireframes, process flows & visuals creation
• Strong problem solving, analytical and decision making skills; able to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and formulate action plans to resolve issues

Qualifications

• 2 to 10 years of Product Management experience - preferably on a consumer internet product
• Location: Must work in Stride's San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX offices
• Must communicate ideas easily verbally and in writing with engineers and marketing
• Preference to experiment with new designs and use data to drive decisions
• Communication skills: Listens to customers, team, and responds well to feedback
• Environment: Desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with varied responsibilities
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at a time and successfully meet deadlines
