Chichicastenango Itineraries

Your leader excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. Guided to all the locations and always recommended safe places to go and superb restaurants.
With regards to the itinerary, mostly very good but better use of the free time/ travelling could be achieved. Beach hotel unnecessary and long detours to visit places could be better planned to allow other activities/places to visit to take place

A fantastic experience. Really loved the cultural and historical aspects of the trip. It was made even better by the group and tour guide.

I took the tour beginning at the Guatemala end, starting on 07/03/2024. The best part of the trip for me was Guatemala, partly for the Mayan culture, and partly because we were in the highlands, so this was cooler than other countries. March in Central America is VERY hot (e.g. 36 degree temperatures in Nicaragua, and the Costa Rican rainforest is a sweathouse), so I'd recommend people to go in December/January if possible. Oh, and some of the hotels did not have air conditioning! A couple of things about the tour could have been improved on : (1) getting from Honduras to El Salvador involved going into Guatemala, then (unnecessarily) back into Honduras again before entering El Salvador, making for a long travel day; (2) a walk in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park is included in the tour itinerary, but getting there from La Anita lodge involves a 4-hour round trip on poor roads; as a result, only one of our party went to the National Park--Explore! should consider booking accommodation in future which is closer to the National Park. Overall, a very enjoyable trip. Finally, a mention for the excellent tour guide: Miguel V.

Overall a fantastic tour, particularly Nicaragua, El Salvador, Copan and Antigua. Would be 5 stars, but the Costa Rica section of the tour doesn't quite work at the moment. Other than that a great tour though, and Miguel was a fantastic tour leader. Would recommend
