Chris is the voice behind Wandering Feathers blog, which focuses on experiencing culture wherever you are. She features traditional and nontraditional sites and activities to experience culture, such as visiting the Palace of Versailles or traveling by bus in Bosnia. She believes in traveling in whatever way makes you happy and being your own “travel self.”
Before Chris became a blogger, she was an anthropologist and attorney. After realizing a desk job was not for her, Chris bought a one-way ticket to India and explored the world for nine months. The travel bug has been with Chris since she was a kid watching movies about Ancient Egypt and Greece. That bug only got bigger after she studied abroad in Greece for five weeks in college.
Some of her favorite travel memories are: feeding and bathing elephants in Thailand; canyoning in Vietnam; touring the Isle of Skye, visiting Poland with her mom; touring Ireland with her dad; and walking the streets of ancient Pompeii.
A four-day weekend trip to Santorini and Athens. I was studying abroad in Thessaloniki, Greece, and a few of us took a train down to Athens that broke down and almost caused us to miss our ferry to Santorini.
Luckily, we made it and spent a glorious 48 hours in Santorini. We did a quick 12 hours in Athens before our train back up to Thessaloniki. As an Ancient Greece lover and archaeologist, it was a dream come true to see the Acropolis. So much so, that I teared up because I was so happy to see it.
Hopefully back to Europe for a time!
