Having done some very basic Via Ferrata I thought this trip sounded
interesting. I was a little apprehensive having injured my knee 10 weeks
before and, approaching 70, wondered if the trip might be too ambitious.
In the event I had no problems coping with the activities and the trip
exceeded expectations.
We did the hardest day on the third day as the weather was most favourable. A
very exhilarating trip and certainly the most technically difficult. So a
great sense of achievement.

Absolutely fine.

You must have a head for heights and a couple of the climbs are tough so long
distance mountain walking experience will help. In my case my cycling fitness
was sufficient.

A fantastic group of 8 (5 male / 3 female) with a good age spread from 30 ish
to 70. We all got on exceptionally well and, on our free day, 7 of us hired
bikes and cycled into Austria where we all went downhill on a summer
toboggan. Then all 8 had our evening meal together at a local restaurant.

I have a wonderful time met some amazing people and shared the adventure of a
lifetime. I would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday to anyone
who loves hiking/trekking
Getting to the summit

Mohamed Idali was a very well informed local guide from the Berber community
who spoke good English. His extensive knowledge of the High Atlas put
everyone’s mind at rest whilst in remote areas.

Drink lots of water to prevent altitude sickness

Get a good pair of walking boots

A challenging and spectacular tour involving climbing and walking in
breathtaking surroundings.
Standing on top of the mountain and looking across the Dolomites.

This tour did not have an Exodus leader, however the Mountain guides, Andy
and Mark were amazing. They gave us the confidence to attempt the challenging
elements of the climbs and would only intervene if someone was having
difficulty.

Whilst upper body strength is important do not underestimate the walk to the
start of the Via Ferrata. The descent can also be difficult on some of the
walks especially on the scree.

Do not hesitate to book this trip. If you enjoy a challenge in a stunning
location you will not be disappointed.

An amazing experience, one you cannot truelly appreciate until you climb into
your harness and step foot on the mountain.
Realising that I can overcome my inner fears by having trust in the guides
and belief in my own ability. This belief enabled me to reach the peaks of
the mountains and experience both fear and excitement during the journey,
truelly awesome

No leader was assigned this trip, but the guides were truelly inspirational.
They dealt with the fears, anxieties, excitement of our group with aplomb,
never once showing concern or weakness in the face of multiple challenging
customers.

Put aside any fears you have and pack your bags, you will find the courage to
overcome your fears and have the time of your life.

I want to go back!!!!

An excellent trip providing a combination of both climbing and walking. This
trip provided a variety of challenges as well as new experiences of the
Dolomite Mountains under the professional guidance and expertise of the
mountain guides.
Standing atop of the mountain after completing a strenuous climb.

On this trip we did not have an Exodus leader. The mountain guides Andy and
Mark absolutely made this trip. They were fantastic. Their expertise was
unquestionable and their knowledge of the Via Ferratas, the terrain and
timings through the day was 100% . Both of them were both professional and
knowledgeable which made the trip even more interesting.

Whilst upper body strength is important for the challenging climbs, do not
underestimate the steepness of the ascent and descent, especially on scree
terrain.

If you have the opportunity to do this trip, do not hesitate for a moment.
Thoroughly recommend.

Climbing & Mountaineering Tours and Travel Guide

Climbing & Mountaineering Attractions & Landmarks Guide

Want to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro? How about some serious Himalaya action? Maybe you're eyeing Cotopaxi in Ecuador or Pico Duarte in the Dominican Republic?? The Rockies in the U.S. and Canada always beckon, as do the smaller Munros of Scotland. If there's a climbable mountain, you can probably find an outfitter to take you there. We'll help.

There’s are few things better than cresting a ridge to find yourself on the top of a mountain. Whether it be five or fifteen thousand feet, reaching a peak is both a literal and metaphorical accomplishment. Luckily for amateur climbers and mountaineers, there are no lack of mountains around the world, and many climbing trips can be combined with other guided or adventure travel itineraries for non-climbing travel companions.

Popular Climbing Destinations

The United States offers many options for climbers and mountaineers - from the granite slabs in Yosemite National Park to Washington State’s volcanoes, including Mount Rainier, there is something for every ability and skill level. Farther afield, Mexico invites climbers from around the world to experience their volcanoes, including Orizaba and Popocatepetl, both of which are within close proximity to the museums and culinary delights of Mexico City.

Further south, the Andes mountains include gems like Cotapaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador, Chopaqualki and Yannapancha in Peru, and Aconcagua in Argentina, standing as the tallest mountain in the Western Hemisphere at nearly 23,000 ft (7,000 meters). A classic trip would be to pair the flair of Buenos Aires plus the wine and culinary mecca of Mendoza with an exhilarating summit bid on Aconcagua, which requires a minimal amount of climbing experience.

Of course, every mountaineer dreams of stepping foot on the massive, storied, and sacred peaks of the Himalaya, especially in Nepal. Everest, which is reserved only for those with extensive high-altitude climbing experience, is far from the only famous mountain in the region. For begineer climbers, try the ‘trekking’ peaks of Island Peak and Lobuche. For the more experienced, Ama Dablam beckons with it’s near perfect conical form and location just off the main trekkers route to Everest Base Camp.

Questions to Ask Your Tour Company

Once you’ve decided on your destination, there are a few key pieces of information you’ll want to obtain from your chosen climbing guide. What meals are included? What personal climbing equipment is required and what can be rented on site? Are the guides all certified mountain guides with First Aid and/or Wilderness First Aid training?

What is the acclimatization plan (pace of the climb). Are there any tour options for non-climbing partners or travel companions? For example, many operators offer trekking options in the same region where climbers will be attempting their summit bid. All in all, a climbing trip can leave you exhausted but filled with a deep sense of personal accomplishment as you push your physical boundaries further than you ever thought possible.
