Terrible, the guide ruined our trip

Our guide tried to skip almost all of the things on our itinerary and we had to fight with him to get him to do half of the things we paid for! He hated his job, didn't do any of the guide portion and really ruined our trip to Sri Lanka. Overall, this company was terrible to deal with and didn't care about what their guide did! We didn't get what we paid for at all. Stay away from them!

Based in Paris, Evaneos is similar to a travel agency, though with a heavily personal and social community touch. What Makes Them Stand Out? Evaneos puts you in touch with local travel agents who are there to help you design a custom trip catered to what you want to see and do. They provide easily accessible sample itineraries to help you design the perfect trip.   They are also an effective tool for local travel agents and DMC’s to find new clients. In essence, Evaneos allows the traveler to get directly in touch with the resources often used by traditional tour companies. If you are on the fence about whether you want a small group guided tour, speaking with an agent from Evaneos can clear this up. Agents have a lot of flexibility - and you can still join a tour through them if you end up deciding this is the right mode of travel. Discussing one on one with a local expert can help make this decision clearer! Who Travels With Them? Evaneos attracts a younger traveler seeking creative control over their travel experience. This is also apparent in how they’ve structured their social community. They will appeal most to travelers who are somewhat budget conscious, care about responsible and sustainable travel, and value having a local guide. Evaneos agents are helpful for providing local expertise and knowledge about how to make your trip ideas fit into a viable itinerary. Where Do They Operate? Currently trips are available all over the world, excepting Antarctica - a majority of tours are centered in Europe and Asia, and very few travel to North America. Why Travel With Them? You may be thinking that a guided tour isn’t right, but also may be unsure about creating your own travel experience from scratch. If you are looking for help crafting an experience that has a local focus, with professional input this is a great way to find agents and travel advisors to help you do just that. Prices vary, but are generally affordable - around the same amount as a group tour but this is a great option if you’re looking for something a bit different than a traditional tour. Unlike a traditional travel agent, flight arrangements are not always included.

Great place for kids

Great place for kids. If you want to have a birthday in East bay a place to consider. We celebrated our grandson's birthday here. It was a hit. Has several games. Staff were nice.

Patagonia Trip

Overall we had a terrific experience. With the exception of El Calafate, the accommodations were all exceptional. The 5 day cruise from Porto Arenas to Ushuaia, although expensive, was worth it. Exceptional weather for end of March also helped. Highlights were Bariloche, Puerto Natalas and Torres del Paine (Chile postcard peaks), and Glacier Alley on the cruise. Ushuaia showed what 50 mph winds look like but the perpetual rainbow made it a great final stop. Working with Lost World was a pleasure. They were very responsive and followed up on everything including the days of arrival and departure in every city.

I love this place!

I love this place! My 4 y/o daughter loves to play here. She always meets a new little friend everytime we come...it's cute. My only complaint would have to be the food. I paid $7.50 for an ice cream cookie. That's a bit insane! Especially since you can't bring in any outside food and you are forced to eat what they sell. Since that's the case, I would highly recommend selling better quality food. If we have to pay for it, at least make it worth it, right?

Absolutely amazing

We just returned from Kenya and Rwanda and thanks to Pam at Rothschild Safaris we had a trip that far exceeded our wildest dreams. Pam was a pleasure to work with. Knowing nothing about Africa, I told her that within our two weeks we wanted the maximum number of safaris, a hot air balloon ride, and a gorilla trek. I gave her a budget that she respected and she planned an absolutely amazing adventure. Not only was each of the places we stayed in different from one another but each had its own specific charm. This was glamping with fine dining. At each place the managers and staff were warm, friendly, and kind. The food was excellent and the service was great. From the moment we got off the plane in Nairobi and were met on the tarmac by our first contact, we were handed over from person to person and never left alone to fend for ourselves. Our driver Andrew in Nairobi and Sadee in Kigali were friendly and knowledgeable. Our guides Julius in Elephant Bedroom Camp, Milton in Ngenche, and Wilson in Encounter were fantastic. The hot air ballon ride was amazing and the gorilla trek was an experience that can’t be described. Considering that our trip included 6 places to stay, 3 shared shuttle flights, and a commercial flight from Nairobi to Kigali,, it all went off without a glitch. Once again, thank you Pam and thank you Meggan for answering my many questions and emails and for being friendly and patient with multiple phone calls. This whole adventure from beginning to end has been a trip of a lifetime thanks to you.

Incredible

We had the most incredible time on our safari trip. Rothschild Safaris did such an amazing job choosing locations, camps, and guides for us. Our trip to Tanzania has been our best trip yet! We are looking forward to booking a future trip with Rothschild. You have found customers for life. Would like to give special recognition to our Arusha safari guide, Mohammad. He did an excellent job of educating us on Tanzanian culture as well as all of the animals we had encountered. All of the guides were great, but Mohammad really stood out and became a fast friend of ours. We feel so fortunate to have been able to experience such a beautiful country. We are so grateful to everyone at Rothschild to putting together such an amazing trip!

Everyone I dealt with at Myths & Mountains put my mind at ease and was extremely helpful

Everyone I dealt with at Myths & Mountains put my mind at ease and was extremely helpful from start to finish. I had never used a tour operator before, and was concerned that I would get a cookie-cutter experience. The opposite was true. Everything was personalized so well that I felt like I was getting a totally unique travel experience. In Bhutan, our guide and our driver were wonderful and made us feel immediately like part of their families. They were warm, open, engaging and would have given us the shirts off their backs. We now feel as if we have friends for life, and we will forever look back warmly upon our time in Bhutan. In fact, we can't wait to go back, and when we do we will absolutely go with Myths and Mountains to set it up.

We have many great memories

We have many great memories from our trip to Bhutan. Toni designed an ideal itinerary for us. Toni and Jen were exceptionally responsive - every email was responded to right away. Taking the helicopter to Mt. Everest (which we added on while on the trip) was also a life changing experience. Very memorable. Very special. Hiking to the Tiger's Nest Monastery was a once in a life experience."

Everything was planned as I thought it would be - first class and top of the line. The hotel employees were great. Since it was founded in 1988, Myths and Mountains has endeavored – and succeeded – in immersing travelers deeply in the culture of destinations where they conduct both group and custom-designed trips. Each itinerary is focused upon one or more “core concepts” intended to provide unique insights into a destination. What Makes Myths & Mountains Stand Out? The concepts around which each trip is planned are not intended to limit participants’ experiences. Instead, they provide inspiration to explore a destination more deeply and fully, based upon the unique attributes of the local culture. For example, depending upon the destination, the “Culture and Crafts” focus might include learning traditional crafts or cooking local delicacies. “Natural Healing” and “Traditional Medicine” may visit a shaman festival or include a visit with indigenous healers in a rainforest. There also are itineraries that explore the “Environment and Natural History” of a destination, and “Religion and Pilgrimage Sites.” Who Will Enjoy Traveling With Myths & Mountains? Travelers with Myths and Mountains are seeking to delve below the surface of a country and its culture, and meet and interact with its people. These trips are intended to provide an immersive experience, exploring through doing and getting to know individuals. If your ideal trip challenges your perspective in ways you never saw coming, provides avenues through which to go off the beaten path, and explores well beyond the classic tourist spots then the Myths & Mountains approach could be for you. These trips are not for those travelers who are looking to stay in 5 star hotels, or pack a lot of activities in each day. Expect modest but comfortable lodgings, you will be active during the day, and spend a good amount of time outside or in rural areas getting to know the locals. People who travel with Myths and Mountains to Nepal, India, or Bhutan also have an opportunity to learn first-hand about the company-supported READ Global centers there. Those self-sustaining projects provide education and community development to residents of isolated villages. In the past two decades, the close to 80 READ (Rural Education and Development) centers that have been established continue to improve the lives of people in countless ways. Top Destinations Given its goal of introducing travelers to life-changing experiences, it’s not surprising that Myths and Mountains steers clear of more tourist-trodden destinations. It offers guided trips to six countries in each of Asia and Southeast Asia. A “Customize Your Trip” link to each planned itinerary described on the website enables those who wish to do so to tailor a tour to their own interests and preferences. Myths & Mountains Travel Style The term “off the beaten path” gets thrown around a lot these days, but Myths & Mountains creates itineraries with this in mind, and in a more authentic and true way than most. This is somewhat due to the destinations themselves that they specialize in. Depending upon the location, Myths and Mountains augments familiar ways of getting around with modes of transportation that are indigenous to a destination. They include trekking through stunning landscapes, exploring caves in a sea canoe and hiking over lava fields to a volcano. Why Choose a Tour with Myths & Mountains? The Myths and Mountains approach to immersing travelers in the essence of a destination is a major reason why it attracts a very high percentage of repeat clients. You will return home with not only new understanding about a part of the world but also with memories of very personal experiences that will linger for the rest of their lives. For Myths and Mountains, the belief that “There is no such thing as one itinerary fits all” is not just a slogan. It’s the way the company does business. As a result, travelers benefit in ways well beyond only seeing a destination. They get to know and understand its history, environment, and especially the people who live there. They come away with an understanding of a new and different society that results from being a participant in its traditions and mores, rather than just an observer.

Viaje Al Fin Del Mundo

I was planning to travel to Patagonia for years but due to heavy work schedule, I had no chance to realize this Patagonia trip until my retirement. I found Across Argentina Travel Agency from internet and a young hard working man Sebastian Southwell worked very hard to fix an itinerary. He offered me a different payment plan that made me pay easily. When I arrived at Buenos Aires, Ms Carolina Simonian took care of me and she always got in touch with me during my 16 days of travel all over Patagonia. Regarding my trip, I was highly satisfied with the selection of Point of Interest, hotels selected were very comfortable and all showed me a high degree of hospitality. Local tours I participated were selected carefully, but I like to point out one point regarding with local tours, guides were good but they were giving information in Spanish longer than English then English speaking guests needed to ask questions to clarify subjects, this to be corrected. As a final words Across Argentina and their talented employees, Carolina and Sebastian made this trip ONCE IN A LIFETIME. I would like to thank Across Argentina and employees so much

Great trip organised by the team!

Great trip organised by the team! From the first moment, the team has been very responsive to our emails and the way the tour was setup exceeded our expectations. The help from the experience manager was very crucial in many circumstances (best example was that she organised to have a purse delivered from Argentina to Chile!!). All in all totally recommend Across South America for your next trip to Latin America!

Across South America were first class

Across South America were first class as they really listened to what we wanted and put together a truly wonderful trip across Argentina and Chile. This was no mean feat as our ‘wants’ included tango lessons. hiking. fly fishing and kayaking. The accommodation found for us was just perfect and we had the most amazing time. It was just so relaxing to know that everything was being handled for us.

Brilliant trip

We absolutely loved our time in China and booking through Travel Local made everything so much easier. The guides were ace - so knowledgeable and friendly. We’d never done a trip like this before and it really took all the hassle and stress out of everything as we didn’t need to worry about airport transfers or getting tickets for attractions. Max was also really helpful and supportive in the run up to the trip and made sure we’d done things like get our visa sorted. Great experience.

By far the best trip I've taken!

The guides were fun, friendly and so knowledgable. The luxury tents were so cool; bug proof, comfy beds and hot showers! The food and fresh juices were delicious. I learned so much about wildlife and conservation efforts. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, plus English is very prominent there. Kenya is such a great place to go on safari. In addition to seeing every animal you could imagine, this trip really offers a great look into the Kenyan culture, different tribes, art, music and way of life. Loved every minute of this trip!

We really enjoyed our Discover Corps tour and can't wait to return to Japan. My wife and I took the Discover Corps cultural trip to Japan (Started in Tokyo-then a bullet train to Kyoto & more local trains to Osaka). The transportation system works well and no cars were ever needed. We were completely taken care of from booking and then thru the process. Adrienne did a great job of informing us of all the details-no planning required. Our guides in Japan, Aki and Miwa, were very knowledgeable local people & made sure we were having a unforgettable time! The cultural experience in Japan was terrific. Great mix of excitement; watching Sumo and participating in Kendo. The food was wonderful plus we were able to participate in sushi making!

Meaningful beyond words!

We experimented Tanzania through Discover Corps! Our trip included service and safari. We adored working with the children, being with the people and seeing animals on Safari. This trip was one of the best things we’ve ever done for ourselves!!!

Cuba: Preserving Nature’s Wonders Trip Type: Small Group Tour
San Diego based tour company Discover Corps is a leader in the rapidly growing field of volunteer vacations. Operating since 2004, Discovery Corps trips average one to two weeks and focus on volunteering either with children and schools or with animals and wildlife conservation. What Makes Discover Corps Stand Out? They are focused on providing travel experiences with a wider humanitarian purpose - and help you put your tourism dollars to good use on the ground. The world of “voluntourism” is a sticky area, and has been met with some criticism over the years, so traveling with a reputable and transparent company has become super important. With Discover Corps, volunteering, responsible tourism, and giving back to local communities is their entire brand - not just a buzzword on the “about us” page. So for those travelers who truly want to make their vacation about volunteering first and tourism second, Discover Corps is a great choice. Discover Corps trips are all inclusive, and while volunteering is the primary focus, sightseeing and cultural activities are also included. Their trips are very popular among families, friend groups, and solo travelers. Who Will Enjoy Traveling With Discover Corps? These tours are best suited to travelers who want to have a humanitarian focus on their next trip. And if this idea is new to you, but you are interested in getting involved, Discover Corp is a great way to start. The average age on a Discover Corps trip is 45-65 except in summer, when families with children as young as 10 are welcome on “family friendly” trips. Wildlife lovers as well will love the opportunities available on Discover Corps Nature & Wildlife conservation tours. You’ll have a chance to get up close to some amazing species, learn about their habitats, and get to participate in various initiatives designed to protect these habitats. Top Destinations Discover Corp travels around the world, in rural villages, beach locations, and rainforests. Popular destinations are primarily in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Discover Corps Travel Style Their all-inclusive trips combine light volunteer projects with sightseeing and cultural immersion. They also offer support while you’re on site – from building classrooms to improving water systems to creating eco-friendly homes. The ideas come from the local communities themselves, and local staff plan everything in advance. Why Choose a Tour With Discover Corps? If you’re the kind of person who likes being actionable and getting involved with protecting threatened cultures, wildlife, and contributing to growing communities in need of schools and homes, then Discover Corps would be a great choice. Volunteer vacations are one of the best ways to get to know the local people on a different level than many tour companies provide. Rather than simply enjoying a meal at a local restaurant, you’re out in the neighborhoods meeting everyday people. “Traveling with a purpose” might seem like a thrown around phrase these days, but it is the entire philosophy around every Discovery Corps trips. So when you join one of their tours, you’ll be surrounded by guides and other travelers for whom this isn’t a buzzword - it’s an important and meaningful mission.

This was our first group tour ever and my family and I are greatly impressed and grateful this was our first experience as we had a complete blast! MoMo, our tour guide, made the trip, he went above and beyond to accommodate everyone one on the tour

He was also extremely knowledgeable, humorous and very patient with everyone. I can't say enough positive things, because of our outstanding experience we would definitely consider another group tour with On The Go. MoMo, you're the best.

A most enjoyable tour

Can’t speak highly enough of our tour guide Hung. He was so friendly helpful knowledgeable and made our tour a very very memorable one. Everything went so smoothly The hotels were very comfortable, transport all air-conditioned which was super in the 38° heat. We were on the overnight train and enjoyed the experience something we will never forget. Thanks for your help on the bike ride Hung , you went beyond the call of duty! I am very glad you talked me into going on that cycle ride I enjoyed it immensely. We felt that we were leaving family by the end of the tour everyone got on so well. Thank you again Hung and On the Go tours for giving us such a wonderful experience.

On the Go Tour is a British-based tour company that runs primarily guided tours around the world but will also help fashion independent travel itineraries.  What Makes On the Go Tours Stand Out? They have a large number of holiday styles, including a large number of options for independent travellers looking for tailor made trips. On the Go Tours is very accommodating and popular amongst solo and single travellers, with most of their escorted group tours requiring no single supplement. Specialty tours, such as Tintin tours to Egypt, Jordan, and India, based on the adventures of the famous Belgian cartoon-book boy-journalist-explorer, are one of the main things that sets On the Go Tours apart. Who Will Enjoy Travelling with On the Go Tours? Those travellers who gravitate to busy, lively, itineraries, that also allow for spontaneity, and are budget conscious will love travelling on holidays with On the Go Tours. They are also very popular among those interested in festivals around the globe. These events are often large scale and can be difficult to navigate, find accommodation, and stay safe. On the Go Tours provides a way to take the stress out of planning to attend a festival. And not just music, but Carnival at Rio; the vibrant Holi Festival in India; the Dragon Boat Festival in China; the Nadaam Festival in Mongolia; and the Boryeong Mud Festival in South Korea, along with many others. So if you are culturally curious and enjoy the idea of large crowds attending the same meaningful event, On the Go Tours would be a great place to start for these travel plans. Travellers with On the Go Tours are mostly age 28 and up, and you can expect a wide range of ages and backgrounds among the group. These holidays are relatively active in nature - a lot of walking and time outdoors, On the Go does offer some family itineraries suitable for children. They also actively solicit single travelers, and don’t require a single supplement. Nationality wise, they attract mainly British, New Zealand, Australian, North American, and South African. Top Destinations On the Go Tours operate around the world, with a large majority of holidays offered in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Australia, and Central and South America are also popular. On the Go Tours Travel Style The On the Go Tours travel style is a combination of coach travel, 3 to 4 star accommodation, some camping, walking and cycling. These tours will keep you active, and in most cases you will carry your own luggage, so pack light, and if you are relatively physically fit you will enjoy the days far more. They have 5 “Holiday ranges” to help you determine the tour type that is going to be best suited to you. 1. Signature - The On the Go Tours Signature Collection is a group of higher end offerings. Accommodations will be in 4-5 star hotels, and groups are kept smaller, with a maximum of 24 people. Destinations are primarily focused in Asia, with a few departures in Europe including Iceland, Russia, and Italy. Peru is also available. 2. Budget - Budget tours are a key component of On the Go Tours. These trips are for active backpackpackers interested in meeting similar travelers in a larger group (max 32). You will be carrying your own luggage, and using a variety of transportation including overland vehicles, public buses and trains. Accommodation is in tented camps and 2-3 star hotels. Most meals are up to you and not included in the itinerary or base price. 3. Handpicked - These trips visit classic and iconic sights, utilizing locally run tours (where you might join up with other tour takers, not exclusively your own tour companions). Partners on the ground help On the Go craft a unique vision for your itinerary. Groups are small, around 28 people max. 4. Active - Active holidays with On the Go tours are intended for those travellers interested in being outdoors and have an adventurous frame of mind. Whether you’re traveling by bike, or on foot trekking or hiking. Travellers who are physically fit and used to stretching their limits will find the most enjoyment on an Active trip with On the Go Tours. Active holidays are offered in Asia and the Middle East primarily, with outings also available in Croatia, Turkey, and Africa. 5. Independent - For those travellers who aren’t as excited about a group tour and like the idea of being on their own but with a professionally planned itinerary, On the Go Tours has you covered! These bespoke tours allow you to have input over what you see, and the pace of your journey. Expect to pay a little bit more for this experience (bespoke tours with On the Go can be considered akin to their Signature Collection), but having the expertise behind your itinerary is all worth it. Why Choose an Escorted Tour with On the Go Tours? On the Go is a perfect starting place for active travellers who maybe don’t know quite yet the kind of journey they’re looking for and want a lot of choice. Prices are kept in the low to mid budget range, and on most tours you can expect a lot of inclusions - this does means there is quite a bit less free time available during the itinerary to explore on your own, so if this matters a lot to you, On the Go may not be the best fit. From tours that specialise in festivals and events (both obscure and popular, musical and cultural), to bespoke holidays designed for you personally, to extended overland journeys, On the Go Tours has tons of holiday types to choose from. Destinations cover a wide range of popular, classic, and off the beaten path locations from less traveled areas of Eastern Europe to the Middle East and Africa. The age range is diverse, and solo travelers are very welcome and actively encouraged to join On the Go Tours. This is a great tour company for meeting new people who have like-minded approaches to travel.

Super friendly staff and team from Look at Egypt

I was traveling solo and decided to go to Egypt last minute. I originally booked a trip just for Cairo but changed it to a week in Egypt instead going to Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. I'm glad I did. Cairo was ok. but Aswan and Luxor was amazing. Look at Egypt was super nice about everything. There was someone with me at all times and made sure I was safe. Cairo could have been planned better with hotel accommodations. The first hotel I checked into at Cairo was dirty that I decided to check into another hotel and pay out of pocket. Look at Egypt tried to get a refund for the hotel rooms but was unable to. The personal guide I had was amazing. She was very informative and friendly. after, there was a flight to Aswan to take a boat cruise to Luxor on the Nile river. The boat cruise was very nice and staff were very friendly. At each destination, I had my personal guide with me who explained the history behind the temples and villages. I don't think it was necessary to pay extra for the additional tours since that package itself has a lot of things to do.

A wonderful country to visit. The programme Tribes put together fitted our wishes exactly and worked perfectly.

The people were lovely; ziplining for the first time, when in ones' late 60s! the wildlife; the beauty and tranquility of the North Pacific coastline.

The Galapagos surpassed our expectations, our boat ,Beluga, was exactly what we had hoped for friendly staff with relaxed and casual atmosphere, good food and comfortable cabin. All transfers and pick ups went very smoothly and to time. Our stay in Bahia

The whole Galapagos experience was special but snorkelling with Hammerhead sharks, Penguins and Eagle Rays was amazing also walking through islands and standing right beside nesting Nasca and red footed Boobies with newly hatched chicks just wonderful. Seeing a family of Howler Monkeys in trees at the beach beside the hotel in Portrero was an unexpected treat.

Great location, excellent

I researched Say Hueque on Trip Advisor and read the reviews on your website and decided to make contact. The booking process was excellent. Our travel advisor was Agustin and he gave us some great advice about where to go and what to do. He also helped us with advice on flight times and airlines to use. Our favorite hotel was Arena Ipanema in Rio. Great location, excellent room and service. Least favorite was La Cantera in Iguasu Falls. Huge room but no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Staff were great but no room service and we had some noise from surrounding rooms. I think the 2 day at Iguasu Falls was our favorite tour. Just seeing the magnitude of the falls and being able to get so close to them was amazing. Favorite memory (and photo) was at Ipanema Beach and the Christ Redeemer statue.

Trip to the Great Salt Flats

Lujan was extremely helpful from booking our internal flights when I could not find good pricing to buying us tickets for the performance at the Colon Theatre. She also answered all of my many questions. It is hard to pick a favorite excursion between Buenos Aires, Salta area and the Iguazu Falls. If pushed to make a decision we loved the mountains – both the trip to the Great Salt Flats and the Humahuaca and Conchas Gorges. We were probably most blown away by the drive through the Conchas Gorge to and from Cafayate but, at the same time when we were at the top of Humahuaca Gorge the view was unbelievable. And we saw a condor! We liked the mix of tour and time on our own to explore. I went with a very open mind so there was nothing that did not fulfill my expectations. I already miss the croissants and empanadas and hope to return one day to explore the central region and Patagonia.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip

The places we visited were just breathtaking, and the Argentinians were very friendly and welcoming. It was one of our best trips ever and one we will remember and talk about for a long time. We chose Say Hueque because of the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, and after talking with Maria we knew she was very knowledgeable about her country and had lived and traveled around there extensively. The booking process with Maria was excellent. She made many wonderful suggestions about which areas to visit, how long we should stay in each area, and which excursions would be best for us. She was also very prompt in answering our many emails. My favorite excursion was the Marpatag Glaciares Gourmet boat trip. Seeing the glaciers up close was an unforgettable sight. The Gourmet lunch was excellent and we enjoyed the company of other travelers. I would like to mention our guide in Buenos Aires, Ceci Martire. She was our very best guide, very knowledgeable and a lot of fun! She sent us emails throughout our trip to make sure everything was going as planned. Thank you, Ceci. One negative thing that I need to mention was our all day excursion from El Calafate to Torres Del Paine. We expected to be picked up in a comfortable van for such a long ride, but instead we were picked up in a small SUV. This was too small for 3 adults in the back seat. And on top of that our driver decided to take a short cut over very bumpy gravel roads. This did reduce our travel time by 1 1/2 hours each way though.

The trip was a perfect

We just returned from our first family trip with B&R though Normandy. Our guides, Thilo & Sigrid, were incredible. The trip was a perfect balance of cycling, history, food (and wine, of course). The kids loved hiking across the bay to Mont Saint-Michel and the go-karting was a huge hit (as was pizza night)! Really can't say enough great things about this trip. We enjoyed every minute and are looking forward to planning our next adventure!

Amazing!

We just completed our first bike trip with Butterfield & Robinson riding in the Piemonte area of Italy. It was amazing! The accommodations, food, wine, bikes, guides and routes were great. Each bike had a tablet on it with the days route so you could go at your own pace and stop and take pictures and really enjoy the beautiful scenery. It was a very challenging ride but after the first day I switched from a hybrid to an E bike which absolutely made my trip more enjoyable. B&R is very accommodating to all of your needs and provided the best trip I have ever been on. My husband and I look forward to planning our next trip!

Grand adventure

I just completed my 9th biking trip with Butterfield & Robinson! We loved every minute of biking in Tuscany with our guides, Alex, Stephano and Edo. Stunning scenery, challenging biking, a great group of fellow travelers, and, of course, delicious food and wine! Private access to illuminated Medieval manuscripts was a highlight for us because we are college professors and book lovers. Thank you so much for a grand adventure.

Born in 1966, Butterfield and Robinson specializes in higher end guided and self-guided biking and walking tours to many of the world’s top destinations. What Makes Butterfield & Robinson Stand Out? The seamless combination of luxury minded travel and the active travel style of cycling are what have consistently made Butterfield a household name among affluent 50+ travelers. You can choose your own activity level, whether it’s a ramble through the Burgundy countryside in France or a more strenuous hike along the Inca Trail in Peru. On cycling trips, bikes are customized to fit the riders, and they have a high staff and support vehicle ratio per guest -- making them a top choice for travelers seeking a high-service biking adventure. They offer several tours around the world, small group is their primary offering, though private guided and customizable itineraries are also available. Who Will Enjoy Traveling with Butterfield & Robinson? They offer trips for all ages, but are definitely most popular among older active travelers with a taste for the finer things. If a leisurely 25 mile bike ride through European vineyards, stopping for picnics, going at your own pace, and meeting up with your small group for a nice rustic dinner with a well deserved beer or glass of wine at the end of the day sounds like your perfect vacation, then Butterfield & Robinson is for you. Activity levels vary with the terrain and there are several different activity categories that B&R offers for you to choose from. They’re open to people of all ages -- kids under 18 are eligible to go on special family trips -- and athletic abilities. Ebikes make it easier for even the most basic physical fitness level to travel farther and in more comfort. Of course it’s not a complete ride with no effort - you must pedal, but it is possible to travel on a cycling trip with Butterfield & Robinson without feeling like you’ve entered the Tour de France. Trips with Butterfield & Robinson are not budget by any means, though a range of price options are available in the mid to upper budget category. Top Destinations Over the years, they’ve expanded to more than 100 biking and walking trips around the world, including Bhutan, the Baltics, Jordan and Colombia as well as favorites like Spain, France, and Italy. Wherever you are, you can expect to be showered with refreshments, route maps, and suggestions for interesting places to stop and explore. Butterfield & Robinson Travel Style Most tours with Butterfield & Robinson are easy to moderately paced. Cycling is the primary means of transportation from point a to point b on most trips, with a generous helping of stops to enjoy unique cultural experiences or explore a historical site. Guided bike trips average about 25-30 miles a day (longer for expert level), while walkers average six to ten miles a day. Group sizes are kept small, to allow for travel along all kind of roads, and create the opportunity for a lot of space between riders, allowing you to find your own pace. On most trips you’ll be joined by more than one guide, allowing for very personalized and dedicated attention throughout your cycling experience. Small group sizes also help Butterfield be able to arrange unique accommodations. On a B&R trip, it’s not unusual to find yourself in a renovated castle, chateau or other signature lodging. They are known for cycling, however Butterfield also offers Walking Tours, Family Trips, Boat Trips & Cruises, Safaris, Food & Wine centric tours, and Corporate Holidays. Why Choose a Tour With Butterfield & Robinson? Even for avid hikers and cyclists who choose the more expert options, B&R sees to it that all you’ll have to cope with is that next hill. You never have to carry your own luggage or purchases that you might make along the way -- the support van, which you’re likely to encounter several times a day on your route -- takes care of that. You also have plenty of flexibility in pacing your walk or ride; group members don’t have to stay together -- you can stop at cafes or museums along the way as you see fit. You can even take the afternoon off if you wish. In short, Butterfield is the pinnacle when it comes to well planned, fun, expertly guided, cycling tours with a luxury travel touch.

Absolutely superb trip.

Absolutely superb trip. I would put this tour up there with the best I have ever done. The scenery is otherworldly and travelling in a small group (a driver, an English-speaking guide and 5 tourists) is perfect. Would recommend to everyone who considering doing this. Yes, the accommodation is basic, it gets very cold at night (I was there in early October) and there are a couple of very early starts, but it is all part of the adventure! I only have 2 negative comments: 1. Our guide was in a bad mood on the final day (we had our suspicions as to why this might be, but they were only suspicions, so it wouldn’t be right to mention them here) and was quite rude to the whole group – in particular to the 2 Swiss people, for no reason whatsoever. 2. Our guide insisted on taking the salt flats perspective photos with our phones – because “it is too complicated with cameras”, but this means we got rubbish photos, with either the foreground or the background out of focus. (My advice is to use your camera. Set it on aperture priority and use a high f-stop number – at least 9 – and set your focus to ‘wide’, not ‘centre’. Finally, don’t put the camera too close to whatever is in the foreground and don’t zoom. (OK, maybe he was right – that does sound a bit complicated, but if you do it right, you’ll get amazing photos!) Finally, I’m glad I’d spent 3 days in San Pedro to acclimatise before doing this tour, as the altitude didn’t affect me at all. Anyway, book this tour – you won’t regret it.

What an amazing Trip! Really appreciate all of the work

What an amazing Trip! Really appreciate all of the work that went into making this trip run smoothly and how everything was organized and efficient from the moment we arrived in Puerto Natales. We (my roommate and I) booked this trip hoping for a great experience, and it definitely delivered. We were met at the beautiful hostel in PN by wonderful staff members who had our room ready and offered great advice on things to do that night. The next day, we met up with Laura, owner of the tour company, at their office and were provided with all of the passes, maps, information and tips you could ever need for the O-Circuit hike. We met our guide, Carlos, who has over 9 years of experience hiking in Patagonia. He answered all of our questions and made us feel ready for the trip. The next day, we took the bus to the park entrance and then the ferry to the first campsite. The hike is BREATHTAKING, and worth every blister, ache or sore you might experience during the hike. I would definitely recommend the O-Circuit, as it gives you the full experience of how large Patagonia is. It was a perfect mix of hiking on our own for the first 4 days at our own pace, and then having the guide to lead us on the north side of the circuit, which is definitely not as well marked and has harsher climates and hikes. During the whole trip, all of our lodging, entrance fees, campsite fees and logistics were handled and delivered smoothly. All we had to do was hike our gear from one site to the next, show our passes and passports, and drink some delicious Austral. This was a trip of a lifetime, and definitely worth it to have all of the logistics, including all of your food on the hike, already taken care of and planned out for you. We’re very thankful to Keteka for helping organize all of this, and would recommend this trip to anyone!

The Pura Vida trip was an outstanding family vacation

With teenage children, we wanted to do something that would satisfy all of us. There was enough fun activities to keep us active and enough down time for us to relax. We were pushed outside our comfort zone, but the outstanding staff was there to encourage us and cheer us on.

Best adventure vacation.

Pura Vida in Costa Rica is a vacation is for those who like the water—we were white water rafting, kayaking, rappelling down a waterfall, and even soaking in hot springs. Great food and lodging, interesting birds and animals to see, and excellent guides made this our best adventure vacation yet.

Mountain Travel Sobek, which was officially renamed MT Sobek in 2018, offers small-group adventures and expeditions all over the world. The company was founded in 1969 and is one of the pioneers in the active, adventure tourism industry. It is based in Northern California, USA. In 2018, MT Sobek celebrates their 50th anniversary - and 50 years as a leader in the adventure travel space. In honor of this, they have updated their website and are expanding their catalogue of tour offerings - planning to add 60 new trips by the end of 2019. What Makes MT Sobek Stand Out? MT Sobek, previously Mountain Travel Sobek is a specialist in crafting adventures such as hiking, trekking, rafting, expedition cruising, and safaris. They help travelers to access some of the more remote corners of the world in comfort and safety. MT Sobek’s first ever trip was to the Himalayas of Nepal, so if you decide on a MT Sobek tour, you can rest assured you are traveling with seasoned veterans. Who Will Enjoy Traveling With MT Sobek? These trips are definitely for the outdoorsy type. While exploring and learning about the culture is definitely an important part of trips with MT Sobek, it’s a secondary theme to the physical adventure. A passion for nature, conservation, hiking, camping, and wildlife will definitely be found among your tour companions. If you’re the kind of traveling for whom a pair of hiking boots is just as essential to your travels as cultural activities, then the MT Sobek approach will be perfect for you. Most meals, all accommodations and transportation, are included during their tours - so if having ample free time is important to you, be sure to read the itinerary carefully. There will probably be a lot of time together with the group, and if this doesn’t sound appealing, you may want to compare with a few different tours. MT Sobek attracts like-minded adventurers that can be couples, families, or solo travelers. Age ranges vastly, from late 20’s to 70s. The nice thing about traveling with MT Sobek is their group sizes are small - usually no more than 15 travelers. Top Destinations Mountain Travel Sobek offers adventure travel experiences on all seven continents -- from the best Canada tours in North America to the most unforgettable vacation packages to Costa Rica in South America. Some of their best known guided trips are to the rivers of Asia, Africa, and South America as well as trekking and hiking trips in the Himalayas. They also offer more relaxed itineraries, such as small-ship cruising in the blue waters off of Turkey. MT Sobek Travel Style The activity level on every MT Sobek tour is given a grade between 1-5. This will help you choose the style you want - whether you’re looking to take easy or give yourself more of a physical challenge. Tours with MT Sobek that are graded 1 are the easiest, often focusing heavily on wildlife viewing activities, and cultural experiences. Tours that are graded around 2-3 are great for those who are new to adventure outdoor travel - including kids and older travelers. Trips are not hard and feature simpler and shorter duration hikes and other activities. The more physically challenging tours with MT Sobek will be in the 4-5 grade range. If you have some experience already with longer distance hiking or kayaking and are used to elevation changes, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy trips in this range Why Choose a Tour with MT Sobek? If you like to challenge yourself and experience an adventurous holiday, then MT Sobek could be the tour company for you. Their guides are mostly locals with advanced training in their niche (mountain guiding, river rafting, etc). The company has also won multiple awards and are the official travel supplier to New York Times Journeys.

I was completely blown away

The most beautiful holiday country I have ever visited All that I've seen, far exceeded my expectations. Especially the gorillas. We had a fantastic guide Anthony Kato. He brought us each day along bumpy, smooth and non asphalted roads to our lodge. Most lodges I found good. Our guide has told much about Uganda, such as habits, tradition, the population and so on. Thought it was clever that he knew a lot about the animals in the park. I got through his explanation a very different and positive image of Uganda. Sure to recommend Uganda and Scenic Trails Safaris to others.

I like the way they plan my 23 days trip to South America tour in Peru, Argentina and Brazil. Although we can enjoy more in Brazil but we have only 3 days left before we go back to Manila. Since our tour was made from our own IT expectation and budget, Acriss Argentina was able to fulfill our dream vacation in South America. We will use tgis agency again when we explore Patagonia and Antartica.

I apologized for this late post. My husband and I went to Japan last April with RITZ TOURS. We can't tell you enough how much we enjoyed this trip. From our Japanese guide, Hiro who made sure our trip was awesome and simply wonderful. We were only a small group which made it a lot better. We all bonded. And the places we saw, the hotels where we stayed and the food that was included is unforgettable. The Kobe steak dinner where Hiro took us is so delicious, the steak melts in your mouth.
I can go on describing our experience in Japan. Overall I would give RITZ Japan Tour thumbs up.
