Croatia Culture Immersion Tour Itinerary
Cruise ships or yachts are one of the best ways to see the Dalmatian Coast. Many of these tours last only 8-10 days and only include stops in Croatia to provide a total Dalmatian Coast experience.
Day 1, Split: Arrive in Split and explore the region’s largest city and homebase for Dalmatian Coast voyages.
Day 2, Split and Brac: Begin your day with a walking tour of Diocletian’s Palace, one of the most important Roman ruins in Croatia. In the afternoon, board your yacht to head out into the Dalmatian archipelago and see the beautiful island of Brac.
Day 3, Brac and Splitska: Enjoy a packed day of exploring Brac and the town of Splitska. Tour the olive fields and historic sites that make this island famous.
Day 4, Hvar: Spend the day enjoying the small village of Vroska, nicknamed “little Venice,” on Hvar and end your day walking through the Stari Gard neighborhood of Hvar Town.
Day 5, Hvar to Vis: Take the morning to further explore Hvar Town before boarding the yacht and cruise through the Adriatic before stopping at the remote island of Vis.
Day 6, Vis: Check out the stunning Bisevo’s Blue Grotto next to the sea and the mysterious military tunnels and submarine ports on the island.
Day 7, Korcula: Sail to Korcula to see one of Europe’s most important medieval cities.
Day 8, Peljesac Peninsula: Sail from Korcula to Dalmatia’s largest peninsula that is dotted with small villages, shallow coves, fruit trees, and beautiful scenery.
Day 9, Dubrovnik: Say goodbye to your crew before heading out by bus to the famous salt walls of Ston. End your trip in the Dubrovnik, one of the most culturally-rich cities in the region.

A Full Balkan Experience - The Dalmatian Coast in 2 Weeks
Many of the longer tours to the Dalmatian Coast include stops in the surrounding Balkan countries. These countries share similar histories and influences as the coastal region of Croatia.
Day 1, Depart: Depart your home country and make your way to Croatia’s capital city of Zagreb.
Day 2, Arrive in Zagreb: Arrive in the elegant city of Zagreb where you are greeted at the airport and transferred to your downtown hotel. Enjoy a greeting meal in the evening to get to know your fellow travelers.
Day 3, Zagreb: Head out early on a walking tour of the old town of Zagreb and the intriguing Mirogoj Cemetery. There will be plenty of time during the day to investigate the rest of the city on your own.
Day 4, Ljubljana: Take a bus to Slovenia’s capital city of Ljubljana where you can explore the dramatic old town and city that has been restored after an earthquake.
Day 5, Bled: Take in the stunning emerald Lake Bled and castle before heading out on a little lake cruise.
Day 6, Slovenia Countryside: Leave Bled to see the Postojna Caves with its countless stalagmites and stalactites before staying the night in the Riviera town of Opatija.
Day 7, Opatija: Explore Opatija and the Austro-Hungarian influence on the city and sprawling waterfront promenade.
Day 8, Plitvice Lakes: Head back into Croatia to visit one of Croatia’s most important national parks. The Plitvice Lakes are 16 teal lakes connected by over 90 waterfalls that provide an escape from the city life.
Day 9, Zadar and Trogir: Get your first introduction into the culture of the Dalmatian Coast in two of it’s finest cities. Zadar and Trogir are both rich in history and important traditional seafaring cities.
Day 10, Split: Get out and get friendly with the heart of the Dalmatian region. Split is the perfect combination of the past and the present and is a must-see on any Croatian trip.
Day 11, Dubrovnik: After arriving the night before, enjoy a guided tour of the famous “Walls of Dubrovnik” and take advantage of the free time in the afternoon and evening to kayak around the bay or stroll through the city.
Day 12, Kotor: Cross the border into Montenegro to see the southern version of the Norwegian fjords. The Bay of Kotor is not only a historic center, but one of the most stunning bays in Europe.
Day 13, Dubrovnik: Enjoy your second day in Dubrovnik to either head out on a day trip or relax in the many cafes and shops in the old town.
Day 14, Return: Say farewell to your tour group and guides before heading back to your home country.

Historical Dalmatian Coast Tour
With a history spanning back to prehistoric times and including influences from the Romans, Venetians, Greeks, and Ottoman Turks, there are plenty of tours that focus on the archaeological culture and history that created the Dalmatian Coast.
Day 1, In Transit: Make your way to Trogir to begin your journey.
Day 2, Orientation: Introduce yourselves to your fellow travelers and learn the day-to-day activities for your historic tour of the Dalmatian Coast.
Day 3, Zedno and Trogir: Take a bus out to the historic village of Zedno and enjoy an archaeological lecture of Ciova Island before heading back for lunch and walking around the UNESCO World Heritage city of Trogir.
Day 4, Krka National Park: Visit the teal waterfalls and lagoons of the preserved ecosystem of Krka National Park.
Day 5, Split: Take a private coach to Split and enjoy a guided, informative tour of Diocletian’s Palace and the Mestrovic Gallery dedicated to one of Croatia’s most famous sculptors, Ivan Mestrovic.
Day 6, Lokvicici: Hike through the dirt roads and vineyards around Lokvicici to learn about Croatia’s long history of wine making.
Day 7, Kostanje and Cetina Canyon: Enjoy an educational and fun day hiking through the Cetina gorge before visiting the pirate stronghold of Omis.
Day 8, Biokovo Mountain Range: Get ready for one of the most stunning bus rides to see the Biokovo Mountain Range and views of the Makarska Riviera.
Day 9, Narona: Enjoy an olive factory tour and olive tasting in Makarkska before visiting the Ancient Roman city of Narona.
Day 10, Mljet National Park: This forested island just 15 miles from Dubrovnik is believed to have influenced Homer’s Odyssey and the story of the Apostle Paul and a hidden oasis for bike riders and hikers.
Day 11, Ston: On your way to Dubrovnik, stop over in the walled city of Ston where you can learn about the Croatian Coastline and history of Ston.
Day 12, Cavtat and Cilipi: Learn about Konavle region in Cavtat while walking between the sea and mountains. End your day atop Cilipi Mountain and experience a Folklore Parade.
Day 13, Dubrovnik: Take in the famous compact, walled in city of Dubrovnik and learn about the historical influences that have made this city one of the most visited places in the Balkans.
Day 14, Depart: Enjoy a private coach to the Dubrovnik airport before heading home.
