Paris to Madrid

The trip was very well planned. We visited cities, large towns and small villages which was a great mix of culture. There were activities organised if you wanted to participate - a bike ride, a kayak trip and a hike. All these activities were well worth the experience. Our guide also recommended places to eat and we always went on her recommendation and it was always excellent. On arrival in each town the orientation walk is so helpful then the next day you have your bearings when exploring the towns. Lastly our leader was excellent. She was patient, approachable, friendly and humorous. She helped make our trip so wonderful. Read more

Classic Climbs of the Pyrenees

Super experience on the Classic Cols tour, small group but very friendly and flexible routes, Xavier did a superb job looking after us - which was important as I brought along my son, Nick, the youngest ever guest of Bike Basque. Easily best value trip I found in alps or Pyrenees but still in nice hotels. Highly recommended, my son already wants to come back! Read more

Discover Wales

We left London and travelled through the Cotswolds toward Aberystwyth, our destination for two nights. We stayed at the very comfortable and centrally located Bodalwyn Guest House B&B (scrumptious breakfast). For the next two days we toured the Welsh countryside to places such as Beddgelert, Harlech Castle, New Quay, Llandeilo, Laugharne (Dylan Thomas home). St. Davids arriving at Tenby and staying at the centrally located Myrtle House Hotel for two nights. Both Aberystwyth and Tenby had good choices of restaurants within easy walking distance. Also visited castle ruins in the Tenby and Llandeilo areas and toured seaside areas. On return to London we visited St. Fagans Natural History Museum outside Cardiff and toured the restored Cardiff waterfront .Our Driver / Guide John was safe, excellent and very knowledgeable and humorous. The 16 passenger bus was very comfortable and perfect for off the beaten path forays. Read more

Self-Guided Cycling in Provence & the Luberon

Fantastic week cycling through spectacular scenery and pretty villages.  Hotels basic but adequate, everyone we met was very friendly and food and wine were superb!
Highlight of the week had to be Mont Ventoux.  Although my husband is a seasoned cyclist, it was the first time I had attempted something of this difficulty and felt a real sense of achievement getting to the top.

We were on a self-guided tour so this is not relevant.

You may want to think about taking your own bikes with you, as we were not overly impressed with the quality of our road bikes, especially if you want to climb Mont Ventoux.
