What travelers are saying

"We joined the Intrepid “Real Italy Food Tour” and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our tour guide, Micol, was very knowledgeable and provided us with lots of good information. It seems Micol knew many of the staff of the venues we visited, including the pasta making class we attended. Our group of 11 travelers was extremely compatible, which greatly added to the fun and enjoyment."

What travelers are saying

"We spent two wonderful weeks touring several of the best destinations in Portugal & Spain with a group of 16 people. Our guide (Fredy) was from Spain and intimately familiar with the region, including its rich history, attractions, and food/beverages. The tour was well-paced using a combinations of private vehicles (small buses and cabs), trains, and an airplane ride as well as a fair amount of walking to get around these two beautiful countries. We extended our stay in Lisbon to see more attractions and took a side trip to Fatima, Obidos, and Nazare that was also excellent. Would have liked to have a bit more time in a couple of the cities, but we'll just have to plan another trip!"

  • A guided tour can be an exciting adventure or a relaxing affair, depending on your idea of a vacation. Proper planning is key to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. Here are some helpful travel tips to consider before embarking on your guided tour:

  • Choose a tour offering unique experiences or off-the-beaten-path destinations to make your trip memorable.

  • Opt for smaller group tours for a more personalized experience and better interaction with your guide.

  • Prioritize safety by ensuring the tour operator adheres to strict safety standards and provides adequate insurance coverage.

  • Consider the environmental impact of your tour and choose operators committed to responsible and sustainable tourism practices.

  • Research the local cuisine and be adventurous with your food choices to fully immerse yourself in the culture.

  • Pack light and smart, focusing on versatile clothing and essential items to stay comfortable during the tour.

  • Take advantage of local guides' knowledge and expertise to gain deeper insights into the destinations you visit.

  • Stay flexible and open-minded to unexpected changes or opportunities that may arise during your escorted tour.

  • Make and capture memories with photos, but also disconnect from technology for some time and fully appreciate the present moment.
