India Gate Itineraries

This was the trip of a lifetime.! A fabulous experience all round with a very knowledgeable local guide and lovely travelling companions.There are many aspects of this trip that I shall never forget -such as the 1st glimpse of the Taj Majal and the boat trip in Varanassi-also the experience of riding a camel into Pushkar camel fair and us being so lucky to see a Leopard and Tigers at Ranthambore..The overnight sleeper trains were a new experience. Such a well planned itinerary in the safe hands of Raj (Rajesh Verma)our brilliant guide.

Our excellent guide Indira was knowledgeable, unflappable and fun. We learned a lot not only about the sites we saw but also about life in India today

Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra

Overall very stimulating and enjoyable. Great places to stay, brilliant guide.
Downside is of course the length of the transfers -not helped by the age of the bus itself which seemed to struggle to maintain any speed.

All the forts and palaces listed in the itinerary were stunning and seeing the iconic Taj Mahal was a real highlight. At most of the sights our group found ourselves almost alone and had great local guides who were able to take the time to point out interesting features and explain the history. Our tour guide, Inder, was simply fantastic and suggested many experiences outwith the itinerary which added to the overall delight of travelling in India.

Travelling in Jan/Feb the mornings and evenings were cold, so do take plenty of layers. And take long trousers/skirts as temples expect men and women to cover up. Be aware there are lots of steps everywhere!

So difficult to pick just one highlight. The whole trip was full of them!
