"Andrew stole our money ($22,000) that we paid for a luxury Ecuador / Peru vacation. He also stole $8,000 from our friend that was meeting us in South America. He first took our calls in 2020-2021, then disconnected all numbers. We went to the credit card company, and were unable to get a refund. He is a scammer. Beware! "Our most recent trip with Hidden Places, the La Rioja Bicycle tour, has only confirmed our high regard for the quality and attention to detail that make their trips beyond parallel. Starting in Pamplona, we enjoyed seven days of riding through gorgeous, verdant green countryside, through lovely historic hilltop villages, through wildflowers, vineyards, fields of wheat and oats, and alongside many pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. We toured an underground winery in Laguardia, a monastery dating to the 11th century, the Frank Gehry designed winery in Elciego and the most amazing wine museum, Vizcano, with a world class collection of everything wine! Our lodgings, always beautiful and a welcome sight after a day’s ride, varied from a repurposed flour mill to historic convents. Although Santiago Island is not one of the main islands that springs to mind, most Galapagos cruises will include a visit to Santiago in the itinerary.
When visiting the Galapagos, it's important to pack light, but definitely include a pair of water shoes and close toed walking shoes. Bring layers, including a light sweatshirt for nighttime.
You'll also want to bring strong sun protection, such as hats, long sleeve swimming gear, and strong sunscreen.
Observing the wildlife is a key element of Galapagos travel, but remember not to ever pet, feed, or touch the animals even though they are used to human presence and will allow you to get very close.
