Best Things to Do in Kampala

The organisation was excellent and the experiences were beyond all expectations with close and personal experiences with both Chimpanzees and Gorillas.

All of the experiences were amazing, but would have to say being so close to chimps and gorillas was a real highlight.

I went on this trip to see the Gorillas and that experience was wonderful. Plenty of food, so you won't starve, the fish in particular very good. Water was supplied each day from large bottles in back of the vehicles. Robert and Peter were very good drivers, but do expect some bumpy stretches.
Negatives for me were the too many people at the Chimp Trekking and the Enganzi Game Lodge. The Enganzi could be much better, food poor and bedrooms hot. Explore should cut that one out.

Highlights were: Chimp and Gorilla treks, Kazinga Channel cruise and walking safari - amazing to see so much wildlife so close up. Uganda is a beautiful country with stunning countryside.

A few things which may be useful to anyone considering this trip: if you are thinking of investing in a proper camera, now is the time - my old iPhone just couldn't do justice to the animals, whereas those with cameras took amazing photos. All the hotels had a good laundry service (one was free) and the usual selection of toiletries so don't overpack. We never went hungry as most meals were 3 courses or buffets and catered for western tastes. On 4 days we needed to wear long sleeves, trousers and socks to prevent bites. And both our groups found gorillas within 1 hour of starting our walk and the terrain was no worse than hilly regions in the UK.
