Mallorca Itineraries

This tour is a biking paradise. Mallorca has enough challenging biking for any level of ability. VBT offers many different routes daily to satisfy all levels of competence and experience. Most days were averaging 35-45 miles for the full day, but shorter routes were available after lunch. There were hills, rollers, flats and riding on good roads was a pleasure. The hotels are excellent, each one better then the last, with the last being a Spa Resort, that is exceptional for a two night stay. Two of the hotels were in the middle of a town where walking to dinner was easy. The last hotel was stand alone, but that was the Spa Resort, were the food was excellent and included. Very friendly group, all got along, new friends were made, many enjoyable moments. But the glue that made this tour were the guides. Hanka is a people person, exceptional guide, caring, professional, always looking out for her riders, funny, good cook and a good person. Marc is every where, helping, guiding, fixing, doing any thing needed, even loaned me his bike to ride as I had a moment of change. Hanka and Marc fed off each other, are a joy to be with, a super pair of individuals. It was great seeing you again Hanka, Poland was a while ago. We loved everything about this trip! The guides BB and Marc were phenomenal, the routes were beautiful and well thought out, the accommodations were well located, and very high end.

This trip was a great mixture of varied rides (flat to challenging), great scenery, a nice mixture of riding and visits to local fincas and places of interest (olive oil making, winery, salt processing), wonderful hotels, and terrific food. Of course our attentive, entertaining, and always helpful guides, Juantxo and Joan, and a very cohesive group of riders made for a memorable trip.

Perfect weather, attentive guides, great biking and the planned lunches -- at an olive oil press, a winery, and a paella cooking demonstration -- as well as the group dinners were all memorable and delicious. The boutique hotels did not disappoint. The only things I'd add would be a visit to one of Mallorca's many caves and some time at the beach which we learned was less than two miles from the last hotel.

Of the 10 trips we have taken with VBT, Mallorca is one of our favorites. The guides were fun to be with, the accommodations were a cut above, and the scenery is spectacular. The trip is rated easy/moderate which is accurate, given the climbs that are on some of the main routes. One afternoon option was especially difficult on a road bike, but the remainder of the days can certainly be done without e-assistance. The Palma pre-trip is interesting and the offered guided walk is worth the fee. We didn't opt for the post-trip in Barcelona since we had been there on a prior VBT trip.
This trip is definitely one to consider.
