our tour guide Bruce was excellent April 2018

America Israel Tours Company Reviews

our tour guide Bruce was excellent! the best I have ever heard! had all of us on the edge of our seats! I would have liked to have done more spots and less catholic church tours. I would have liked to go to Jericho and to the pool of Siloam, to name a few! Otherwise it was an excellent time with your tour . Thank you again for this privilage Read more

Planning the trip with the consultant at this travel agency went smoothly. July 2017

Inca Trail Trek

" However, I think the our consultant needed to spend a little more time understanding our age/physical ability. He recommended 2 days touring Machu Picchu. However, we got there by 10 am the first day and had seen all we needed by the end of the day. Since we were not hikers, we were not going to hike to the Sun Gate, nor were we going to climb Huana Picchu. So, we spent a pleasant day relaxing in Aguas Caliente, but wasted the cost of admission for 2 for the second day.

All of the accommodations were fine and most of the local tour guides were excellent. Our guides in the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco were excellent. Unfortunately I was very ill in Lake Titicaca and could not go on the tour, but the local tour guide helped us find a doctor, called my husband several times to make sure I was ok, and came to the hotel to check on me. She was very helpful in my time of need.

Our Lima tour guide was curt and not very good and the guide who rode with us for over 8 hours for the Nazca lines tour fell asleep most of the time and was NOT very informative.

Our consultant did not respond to an email when I had a medical emergency in Peru. However, the person monitoring the chat line was able to make our travel changes for a price that I believe is excessive. Changing 1 flight out of 3 on our return trip cost me $100 from the travel company for the change fee. I think considering the cost for the trip, they could have done that for free since I also had to pay the travel company and the tour company. Given my condition in the morning I was unable to leave the hotel room and travel for an hour to the airport. It took some time for the prescribed drugs to take effect so I had to leave later. The hotel was extremely helpful and accommodating, including allowing us to check out from our room very late."

I really enjoyed this trip to Belize December 2016

Maya Reef Explorer

I really enjoyed this trip to Belize - it was my first time. I loved the culture, the people are friendly, the weather was good, a little windy for a few days on the reef, but our guides were outstanding at tailoring the activities to meet the weather conditions. The food out on Lighthouse Reef was outstanding, considering the location. I would rate the food at the Lodge as good to very good.

Why did you choose to travel with Island Expeditions?:
It is a Canadian Company located in BC. I know they have been around for a long time. I also explored trip advisor to see how they rated. With all of these being considered, I chose Island Expeditions.
What was the highlight of your trip?:
One of the highlights of the trip on Lighthouse Reef was the early morning yoga with Andrea, it set the tone for the day and I felt yoga was such a positive addition to the whole experience.

A big tick off the bucket list! August 2016

Machu Picchu & Galapagos

We researched options for visiting Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands on the same trip and found that the Exodus trip offered a great combination, allowing plenty of time in both locations and with good itineries. We appreciated the small size of the party (15) and the knowledgable and helpful local guides. The Vieja Cuba Hotel in Quito was quirky and lovely, with friendly staff, but I wouldn't have chosen the hotels in Cusco or Agua Calientes - they were a little too 'budget'. The crew of the Cachalote were fantastic, anticipating every need and providing a faultless service. The tiny cabin space was something of a challenge, with only a couple of small shelves for storage and the bunks are definitely not for the claustrophobic, but that's the price you pay for the privilege of sailing in a small boat.
The day trek along the Inca Trail from Km 104 to Machu Picchu was challenging but absolutely wonderful. Arriving at the Sun Gate and looking down on Machu Picchu as the crowds were leaving at the end of the day was one of the highlights in an altogether fantastic holiday.

Wilmer in Peru, Gloria in Ecuador and David in the Galapagos Islands were all knowledgable, professional and helpful. Both Gloria and David went out of their way to look after an injured member of our party, and David in particular went to a lot of trouble to ensure she was able to enjoy as many of the excursions as possible.

This is a purely personal observation, but not being able to flush toilet paper on the boat, and having to put it into a bin with no lid was enough to stop up my metabolism for the week! The bin was only emptied once a day as well! The provision of bio-degradable nappy sacks for used toilet paper would have been more hygenic.

One of our party really struggled with the ascent on our Inca trail trek, slowing down the group to the extent that we only just made the time at Winay Wayna. Highlighting the difficulty of the walk when people book would give people chance to prepare or opt out.

10 day trip with Caravan to spectacular Guatemala August 2016

Guatemala with Tikal, Atitlán and Antigua

We spent Jan. 30 -Feb. 12 in Guatemala touring the country. The first 10 days were on a Caravan Tour-2nights in Guatemala City, 2 nights at Lake Atitlan, 2 nights near Copan, Honduras,2 nights near Tikal, and 2 nights in Antigua. We then extended our trip by staying 3 more nights in Antigua on our own.

The Caravan Tour (you can see the details on Stride) was excellent-a great guide, good hotels, decent, food, (unexciting and somewhat bland, but varied and good quality) and great, well travelled tour participants.

Overall, the country is beautiful and we had a wonderful time on our trip. If you are thinking of going, I would encourage you to go.

GREAT TRIP! November 2015

Enchanting Peru

I wanted to start by saying that Enrique our tour director, was amazing. He made us feel like we really mattered. He even let my husband and I tag along with him during his down time to enjoy an amazing meal in the town below Machu Pichu. The hotels were great, although the beds were a bit hard in Cuzco( but that is not anyones fault). The food was great, and every place that Enrique recommended to eat was amazing. The value as usual was unbeatable. Our only input for improvement might be that you add an extension to the end of the trip in Lima of a day or two with the optional tour of going to see the Nazca lines, otherwise had a great time. The group was all fun to be with as well. Thank you again for all of wonderful experiences, I look forward to the next adventure! Read more
