Classic Sacred Valley Itineraries

The Sacred Valley encompasses much of the ancient Inca Empire lands, and is a standard attraction for most Machu Picchu tours and Peru tours. When touring the Sacred Valley, you'll most likely spend a few days in Cusco before venturing out. This is essential for getting used to the altitude!

Also in the Sacred Valley, you'll see Ollantaytambo and many smaller ruins on your way to the most famous at Machu Picchu.

Inca Ausangate Trek

Every transfer was seamless, and the trip itself was phenomenal. Almost everyone in my tour group had previously done several trips with World Expeditions and all had great things to say, so I was immediately put at ease that I was in good hands. Our guide Jose Pepelucho Corpancho was not only knowledgeable about the area but he also knew personally the families we passed on the trek, which afforded us a more intimate and privileged experience in terms of interaction with locals, and putting in perspective the landscape and geography in relation to peoples’ daily lives. It was evident that the team of staff (Tambo Treks) worked diligently to maintain high standards on the trip and I am still a bit in awe of how such fantastic meals came out of a tent, at high altitude. Thanks so much for an unparalleled vacation in both itinerary and execution. Read more

The High Inca Trail

This trek was a difficult one because of the high climbs in metres. Dealing
with high altitude was to take it slow and easy. I was very satisfied when
completed and the views were amazing. It was not a well trodden path so it
felt like we were the only people around. The guide was very knowledgeable
and entertaining. Even though it was my first time camping the food was
really good and freshly prepared. Seeing Michu Pichu was the icing on the
cake.
Seeing the Inca architecture and thinking how it was all achieved. See Machu
Pichu was a dream come true. Meeting the lovely people in the group and our
group dynamics that developed made the difficult situations so much easier.

He was very knowledgeable and no job was to big or small for him. He was a
caring individual and a great motivator when the mood was low. Looked after
us all very well. Thank you Thomas.

This is a high altitude trek and not easy with the large height gains. No
matter how fit you are it is best to take it easy and slowly. No rushing as
the altitude can kick you in the teeth when you think you are ok. Stick with
the group and do t go rushing off even though you are fast.

Have.a great time. I know I did.

Inca Rivers Trek - Choquequirao to Machu Picchu

Itinerary was good and trek from Choquequirao to Machu Picchu was intense. Very steep going up AND down - at times the up and up felt like it was never going to end! Loved the descents though, dust and all! The scenery along the way, especially through the cloud forests was beautiful and isolated. I am not a keen camper but the camping on this trip was amazing! The campgrounds throughout the trip were phenomenal and the most surreal was camping under the stars, on the Inca terraces of Choquequirao, with dominating mountains in front of you and river deep down below. Having stayed at some pretty luxurious hotels, this campsite beats them all! It was simply too stunning for words. Read more

In the Footsteps of the Incas Summer 2018

Two climbing venues in one day could have been done on two separate days since nothing was planned for the next day. The itinerary included a 4 am wake up to catch a 7:30 flight to Lima and then nothing to do until 5:45 that evening. What a waste! Read more

Amazing Peru

I just wanted to take a second and thank you profusely for your help in booking our Peru trip. It was honestly a once in a lifetime experience, and we could imagine a better outcome!! Virtually all the details of our trip turned out excellent. I didn't know what to expect with the hotel--but it was fantastic. The setup for three people was perfect. And the staff there was amazing. Took care of our every need. But the true highlight was the Inca Trail Hike. I was pretty worried, honestly, because. Let me tell you--they were incredible. Our guide, Reuben, was superb. The food: Terrific. The supporting staff and porters...truly unbelievable. I sincerely hope you book tons of trips with them in the future, and we'll look forward to sending our friends their way. Lastly--your responsiveness, communication, and personal skills were amazing. Thank you for helping to coordinate everything. You were absolutely excellent. In short--the trip was superb. The only bad part is that it eventually had to come to an end! Many many thanks for your help. Mike McKinsey Portland, OR

GREAT TRIP! November 2015

Enchanting Peru

I wanted to start by saying that Enrique our tour director, was amazing. He made us feel like we really mattered. He even let my husband and I tag along with him during his down time to enjoy an amazing meal in the town below Machu Pichu. The hotels were great, although the beds were a bit hard in Cuzco( but that is not anyones fault). The food was great, and every place that Enrique recommended to eat was amazing. The value as usual was unbeatable. Our only input for improvement might be that you add an extension to the end of the trip in Lima of a day or two with the optional tour of going to see the Nazca lines, otherwise had a great time. The group was all fun to be with as well. Thank you again for all of wonderful experiences, I look forward to the next adventure! Read more
