What travelers are saying

"We joined the Intrepid “Real Italy Food Tour” and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our tour guide, Micol, was very knowledgeable and provided us with lots of good information. It seems Micol knew many of the staff of the venues we visited, including the pasta making class we attended. Our group of 11 travelers was extremely compatible, which greatly added to the fun and enjoyment."

What travelers are saying

"We spent two wonderful weeks touring several of the best destinations in Portugal & Spain with a group of 16 people. Our guide (Fredy) was from Spain and intimately familiar with the region, including its rich history, attractions, and food/beverages. The tour was well-paced using a combinations of private vehicles (small buses and cabs), trains, and an airplane ride as well as a fair amount of walking to get around these two beautiful countries. We extended our stay in Lisbon to see more attractions and took a side trip to Fatima, Obidos, and Nazare that was also excellent. Would have liked to have a bit more time in a couple of the cities, but we'll just have to plan another trip!"

What travelers are saying

"My bestfriend and I had this AMAZING trip booked to Thailand for my 50th birthday at the end of March. We planned to travel to 3 different cities in 10 days and had excursions and tours planned for every day through EXO Travel.......then Corona hit. Needless to say, traveling to Thailand was not an option. Across the globe, international travel was restricted/halted and flights were canceled. We contacted EXO about refunding our money and they flat out refused. They were not interested in the why's, details or circumstances, it was a hard NO. We each spent $1,500 on excursions/tours with this company and they refuse to give our money back despite the fact that there's a WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC going on and travel into Thailand was shut down. We couldn't get there even if we tried!!! Entry into the country is STILL shut down for tourists and yet they refuse to refund our money. They are RUDE, UNCOOPERATIVE AND FLAT OUT UNETHICAL!! DO NOT BOOK YOUR TRIP THROUGH EXO TRAVEL!"

"Subal, Dinesh, Santosh, Amber and the team were brilliant. Subal in particular was always on the look out for the well-being of the group. The views and hiking on the trip were unparalleled, and as may be stereotypical to say, I learnt a lot about myself. I would recommend this trip to anyone."

What travelers are saying

""We used Exotic Voyages for our 3 week trip. Annie made it organized and easy from the very beginning. She worked with me to develop and tweak many itineraries. All of the airline connections were efficient and complete, right down to seating and boarding passes. All hotels were immaculate, reasonable and central to the best locations. All tours and excursions were professional and spot on. There was always someone waiting for us at the airports to help with immigration and luggage. Annie even personalized our trip with a local dinner in Hanoi! She stayed in touch every step of the way. I will use Exotic Voyages again.""

Southeast Asia Tour Selection Trips

  • Every major country in Southeast Asia is worthy of a visit on its own, so consider limiting your tours to one or two countries.
  • A good way to combine two countries is via a Mekong River cruise that sails through both Vietnam and Cambodia.
  • Small ship sea-going vessels are ideal for island-hopping through Indonesia and the Philippines
  • Study up on local customs and taboos before heading off on your Southeast Asia tour; for instance, never say anything negative about the king of Thailand or touch a Buddhist monk.
  • Indonesia, Malaysia, and parts of the Philippines are majority Muslim, so you may want to avoid traveling there during the month of Ramadan, when Muslims don’t eat between sunrise and sunset.
  • While the weather is generally tropical in Southeast Asia, check the rainy versus dry seasons before booking a tour.
  • April is the hottest month in Bangkok, when it can get stifling.
  • Wildlife safaris -- in search of komodo dragons, orangutans, tropical birds, and more – are an often overlooked tour possibility throughout much of the region.
  • While Bangkok and other Southeast Asian cities are essential stops, be sure to choose tours that also visit the countryside, where the modern hasn’t yet overwhelmed the traditional.
