What travelers are saying

"First time we (mom and daughter) have done a tour and first time with on the go tours. What a special trip we had doing the 13 day Casablanca to Essaouira Morocco tour (26 Nov - 6 Dec 2023). We started the first 8 days doing the totally Morocco tour and the last few days at our own pace with down time in Essaouira. Jamal our guide led the tour from start to finish and took us safely on a culture filled journey. His knowledge of the country, it’s history and people was informative and inspiring. Every request was “no problem” and delivered with a smile and happy demeanour. Everything in Morrocco was “no problem” and we felt safe and looked after. We were driven in a comfortable coach with enough stops along the way to not feel long by our competent driver Suleman. The hotels, Riad and Dar were extremely comfortable with exceptional service. We would not have had the same experience travelling on our own, we felt as though we truly experienced Morocco. Everything was a highlight for us and we will definitely book another on the go tour in the future. If you wanting to see true Morocco we would strongly recommend doing this tour."

What travelers are saying

"We traveled as a family to Beijing and Xi'an. Pre-trip planning was done via our travel agent, with excellent communication with the WildChina folks via email. Questions were answered promptly, and all the information we got was absolutely correct. A snowstorm forced changes to 3 days of our plans - but our guide Michael handled all of it effortlessly."

What travelers are saying

"I had to write this review when I saw the only review on here was so mediocre. We went earlier this year on an art tour of Florence. It was excellent, from booking to getting off the plane back in England. The hq staff, the tour guide and the expert were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The tour was brilliantly designed so we saw a great deal in a city of masterpieces, but never felt overwhelmed. The hotel was excellent. The meals were very good. It is expensive, but taking into account the quality of the hotel and the expertise of both the Martin Randall staff and the art historian it really is good value. The whole trip was good fun, enlightening and ran like clockwork. Nobody needs to go on a luxury tour accompanied by an academic - you could stay in a youth hostel and read a tour guide and see the same sights for a tenth of the price. But if you have the inclination and means then Martin Randall is an excellent choice. We have since booked another tour for next year, and I have my sights on two more."

What travelers are saying

"We had a wonderful trip. We were very pleased…the two land trips…both the drivers were wonderful. They had so much knowledge and experiences with the area. We did get to see 4 polar bears on the trip, so that was a real plus. We were not disappointed in the trip (we probably saw 1,000 whales) and would definitely do it again. Thank you for doing such a great job for us."

The Silk Road Tour Selection Trips

  • Travel the Silk Road with a spirit of adventure and flexibility; remember that you’ve come halfway around the world for a new and unique experience – and you will have one!
  • It’s advisable to take a well-organized tour while traveling the Silk Road, since guides can prove invaluable in smoothing out travel difficulties (transport, bureaucracies, language, lodging, etc.) along the way.
  • Because of the varied terrain, there can be dramatic shifts in the weather along the route, so take layers of clothing that will provide comfort during extreme temperature changes.
  • Pack any medicines you take in their original containers, and keep them in your carry-on luggage because they may be hard or impossible to replace.
  • Bring a generous supply of your favorite snacks, which may be difficult to find along the way.
  • Some areas of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, through which a section of the Silk Road passes, are situated at altitudes over 10,000 feet; check with your doctor if you’re prone to altitude sickness.
  • Occasional windstorms kick up desert dust that can clog the nose and throat and sting the eyes, so bring a kerchief and perhaps nose and eye drops for relief.
