I took the 10 days to Bangkok Thailand. Overall, a good tour, good service and a very responsible and fun guide : Patty! Transportation good. Hotels, I believe they are rated 4; but for me the only 4 stars was the one in Bangkok city; the other are3 stars. Places to eat not bad, but expect to find many flies most of the time. Optional tours...if you are animal lover don't take the tiger zoo and elephant ride. If you love beach, take Coral Island. Bangkok is a populated city so expect to find a lot of traffic, vendors everywhere and dirty streets and garbage. Be aware on the streets, actually the streets are more secure that they look like ; but still go with precaution . Ping pong shows is not worth the money but cabaret show with lady boys, yes! The tour takes you to the important temples but you have to pay extra for the tour to emerald Budha and great palace. The tour is worth the money so definitely worth the money. I'll recommend to take a tour that includes Chiang Mai and some island like Phuket, maybe you have to pay more for the tour but its worth it. Thailand, is a must go destination and if you want to go there, definitely take a tour which will be cheaper and less planning. I will consider affordable Asia for my next trip for sure!. PS: if you have at least 6 hours layover in Beijing I recommend you to take a tour to Great Wall! It is a 1h 30m from the airport and you can get a 72 hours pass from immigration in China at the airport, the pass is a yellow card that the airline will give you before landing; fill it out and at the airport go to the line of 72 hour pass. There are many companies that offer the tour to Great Wall from the airport. Have a safe trip!

Our hard working & funny tour guide, Patty, was awesome!! We were well taken care of; it was a worry free trip. Hotels were great and buffet breakfasts were incredible, especially Bangkok hotel. WiFi free in lobbies. Then lunch & dinners were just 4 hours apart. We always felt full. Transportation was reliable & safe. Optional activities: you can decide once you get there for the same price as on-line prepay which we appreciated. Yes to lady boy show, no to ping pong show, it was an absolute waste & disgust, wish we would have been better informed. Loved the bamboo raft ride down river!! Wish it was longer & earlier in the day, I think we ran late that day, it was a long drive & the only unsatisfactory dinner in the trip. Prepare for mosquitos. I'd prefer to skip cemetery to have more time to relax in hotel which had beautiful grounds & pool. Lots of temples and cultural sites. Not great for beach & snorkeling seekers even in Coral Island. Worth paying a bit more for tour to Chiang Mai or Phuket instead of Pattaya. After 1 day in Pattaya left group to fly to Phuket for James Bond island tour, so beautiful! However, we should have done it on 2nd day in Bangkok because tour ends with another 1.5 days in Bangkok again. Plenty of time for shopping. Bangkok has horrible traffic at most hours of the day, don't underestimate time. Luckily, Patty had us up & out of hotels before getting stuck in traffic. AA listens to feedback and was no longer going to include Zoo. Wish they asked for feedback after 4 days while fresh in our minds. AirChina not the greatest service, strict security and 5+ hours lay over in cold Beijing airport. On return, came prepared with cup-o-noodles. Airport has filtered cold, warm & boiling water. We'll definitely consider AA for another trip.

This was my husband and my first groupon and Affordable Asia experience! All we can say is "Just Do It!" Everything about our tour was amazing!! Our tour guide, Sharky, was fabulous and so helpful! Many daily tours were included, all of our airfare, 5 star accommodations, and breakfast each day! We truly cannot think of anything that wasn't top notch, and we travel a lot world-wide! The price through Groupon was just a tad higher than a round trip ticket! Amazing! Just Do It!!

We experimented Tanzania through Discover Corps! Our trip included service and safari. We adored working with the children, being with the people and seeing animals on Safari. This trip was one of the best things we’ve ever done for ourselves!!!

We really enjoyed our Discover Corps tour and can't wait to return to Japan. My wife and I took the Discover Corps cultural trip to Japan (Started in Tokyo-then a bullet train to Kyoto & more local trains to Osaka). The transportation system works well and no cars were ever needed. We were completely taken care of from booking and then thru the process. Adrienne did a great job of informing us of all the details-no planning required. Our guides in Japan, Aki and Miwa, were very knowledgeable local people & made sure we were having a unforgettable time! The cultural experience in Japan was terrific. Great mix of excitement; watching Sumo and participating in Kendo. The food was wonderful plus we were able to participate in sushi making!

We lived in the African bush for 10 days. Accommodations were wonderful - tents with nice furniture and attached bathrooms. Plenty of hot water! Food was delicious and quite sophisticated. But the best were the wildlife experiences led by an extremely knowledgeable and personable guide. All the staff were kind and professional.

    About Discover Corps

San Diego based tour company Discover Corps is a leader in the rapidly growing field of volunteer vacations. Operating since 2004, Discovery Corps trips average one to two weeks and focus on volunteering either with children and schools or with animals and wildlife conservation.

What Makes Discover Corps Stand Out?

They are focused on providing travel experiences with a wider humanitarian purpose - and help you put your tourism dollars to good use on the ground. The world of “voluntourism” is a sticky area, and has been met with some criticism over the years, so traveling with a reputable and transparent company has become super important.

With Discover Corps, volunteering, responsible tourism, and giving back to local communities is their entire brand - not just a buzzword on the “about us” page. So for those travelers who truly want to make their vacation about volunteering first and tourism second, Discover Corps is a great choice.

Discover Corps trips are all inclusive, and while volunteering is the primary focus, sightseeing and cultural activities are also included. Their trips are very popular among families, friend groups, and solo travelers.

Who Will Enjoy Traveling With Discover Corps?

These tours are best suited to travelers who want to have a humanitarian focus on their next trip. And if this idea is new to you, but you are interested in getting involved, Discover Corp is a great way to start.

The average age on a Discover Corps trip is 45-65 except in summer, when families with children as young as 10 are welcome on “family friendly” trips.

Wildlife lovers as well will love the opportunities available on Discover Corps Nature & Wildlife conservation tours. You’ll have a chance to get up close to some amazing species, learn about their habitats, and get to participate in various initiatives designed to protect these habitats.

    Top Destinations

Discover Corp travels around the world, in rural villages, beach locations, and rainforests. Popular destinations are primarily in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

    Discover Corps Travel Style

Their all-inclusive trips combine light volunteer projects with sightseeing and cultural immersion. They also offer support while you’re on site – from building classrooms to improving water systems to creating eco-friendly homes. The ideas come from the local communities themselves, and local staff plan everything in advance.

Why Choose a Tour With Discover Corps?

If you’re the kind of person who likes being actionable and getting involved with protecting threatened cultures, wildlife, and contributing to growing communities in need of schools and homes, then Discover Corps would be a great choice.

Volunteer vacations are one of the best ways to get to know the local people on a different level than many tour companies provide. Rather than simply enjoying a meal at a local restaurant, you’re out in the neighborhoods meeting everyday people.

“Traveling with a purpose” might seem like a thrown around phrase these days, but it is the entire philosophy around every Discovery Corps trips. So when you join one of their tours, you’ll be surrounded by guides and other travelers for whom this isn’t a buzzword - it’s an important and meaningful mission.
