Over the last 10 years, we have cycled with Great Explorations six times in five different countries. Great guides, superb scenery, wonderful food, interesting cultural tours, excellent accommodation, faultless logistics, enthusiastic fellow cyclists… how are you going to top that next time?

Our second Italian trip with Great Explorations. We toured Puglia with one other couple so the guide was able to make changes to suit us. Every trip has a few niggles: this time a couple of minor bike problems which were fixed promptly.
Once again, ideal for those of us in our 60's who want more comfort than backpackers but not expensive 5 star bling. We have used several cycling companies during 25 years of cycle touring and GE remains our favourite.

Just finished the wonderful Prague to Vienna trip with Great Explorations (GE) and Veronika as my guide. There is no better way to see the Czech Republic and Austria than through this bike trip with GE! Veronika makes this trip so unique and special. Her knowledge of the area, the people she knows, and constant patience and cheerfulness sets apart this company from others. My guide, the unique opportunities I was given (oh the food!!!) and my AMAZING bike were everything I was looking for and more. I will definitely be using Great Explorations again for my next adventure!!!

A year late in sharing my review. Enjoyed a stellar trip in Piedmont, Italy last May (2013). A wonderful guide (part Italian) and support crew, beautiful scenery, amazing food (and wine) and the villa's and accommodation were great. A one-stop shop solution for busy people seeking a reliably great holiday with fun, interesting history and culture, great gear, routes and interactive touring! Our group of friends had the added bonus of entertainment and team spirit provided by the one and only Great Explorations founder/owner - Robbin! I look forward to my next trip!

We chose Annapurna Base Camp because the trek has a lower risk of altitude sickness that Everest Base Camp.
The trek was still quite challenging with many mountains to climb over (the guide called them hills ha ha) before we eventually started to follow the valley line up the mountains towards Base Camp. The accommodation was pretty basic (tea houses) in each village we stopped and the temperature kept getting lower the more we climbed. But once we got to base camp the view was amazing and we were so glad that we decided to do this trip. It was pretty hard, but the memories of being surrounded by some of the tallest mountains in the world was worth all the effort.
I would recommend that trip to anybody with a moderate level of fitness

This trek is definitely worth it. It might take a week to trek from start to finish but it is worth every step. The day we got to the base camp was very difficult but only because it started the hail, then snow in the last couple hours of trekking. Apart from that the trek was amazing. The views were amazing and I got to see thing i never would have at home.
