Very knowledgeable and customer service reps were great. Our tour leader and bus driver were the best. Great trip to Sicily to see where our grandparents came from.

We just came back from Sicily. Our tour manager Jovanka Mrdja was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. Our driver Franco was also wonderful. He made us feel very safe while navigating the narrow, windy roads. I would definitely recommend Collette and look forward to touring with them again and would love to have Yovanka as our guide

We were extremely happy with how each and every minor/major logistics were taken care of during our entire trip to Peru. Starting from the planning phase, Andrew and Garvey of Lost World were with us revising the itinerary multiple times until it met with our comfort level. This was our very first time of hiring a professional travel agency for organizing our vacation at the international location, so you can imagine the degree of anxiety we had about our trip at the beginning. Andrew kept assuring us that you will know as soon as you reach there that you are in good hands. That turned out to be true word-by-word. At every airport we were met with someone who was assigned to take us to the hotels, and each time the individual left only after making sure that we were all set. Throughout our trip we always find the people attending us (the guides, transfer and drivers) very prompt, professional and courteous. One problem we experienced though that many a times the individuals assigned to us were not very proficient in English. This was quite limiting but nevertheless was countered with the help of google translator and very enthusiastic personnel who were genuinely eager to help. The guides (Natalie in Sacred valley and Cusco; Sergio at the Matchu Pitchu) who went with us to various excursion tours were knowledgeable, entertaining and very very friendly. The cars were in really great conditions, roomy and very clean - in fact one of the drivers used to keep the black synthetic floors spotless by wiping our dusty footprints every single time we stepped out. The location of each hotel was prime, which was truly important for us particularly when we were on tight schedule and has no clue about the orientation of touristy hot spots and down town plazas. Perhaps this is unique to the south american setting, but we struggled a little with the 'Vouchers' - something that you paid for that does not go in to the system automatically when you check-in at the hotels. However, our escorts/hotel front desk people were very much aware of it and they helped us almost all of those time. All of the city tour tickets were booked and given to us as soon as we landed in Peru. I want to mention that we were moved by Carlos, our transfer guy in Cusco, who went over on each single thing included in our itinerary while we were driving from the airport to the hotel on our first day. He did that so sincerely while also telling us about the people/history and geography of Peru. I also remember, he wanted to accompany us up to the Vistadome train, but was stopped at the gate (and desperately argued with them to let him do that). Our food restrictions were varied -from nothing to vegan- it was addressed meticulously at the lodge in Amazon Forests, without us reminding them about it. Other places already had appropriate options in their menus. Our itinerary was not overwhelmingly busy - it had some leisure times and times for shopping or just walking around on our own carefully planted, which we liked the most. At one point, we needed to cancel one of the excursion while there at Matchu Pitchu pretty late in the night (due to some health issues; we were supposed to be at the bus stop terribly early AM), we reached out to the emergency contact number of Lost World and they promptly and rapidly helped us with it. We can go on and on to tell you how much we enjoyed the excellent services provided by Lost World - it only enhanced our appreciation of Peru in its entirety.
Thank you so much, we appreciate all your help and look forward to go on to the next vacation with you.

I really liked Everything Mr. Andrew did for me and my wife. The Tierra Atacama was wonderful, the tours and guides were perfect. Special attention to two guides, Felipe and Carolina, they were perfect end different from the others. I had a Very bad experience with the flight from Calama do Santiago, it really bored me. I Know it probably were caused by Latam, but that was the worst part of my trip.

I was introduced to Lost World Adventures via Responsible Travel and had no prior experience of this company. I liaised with Andrew Gilchrist via email, going through various iterations of my proposed itinerary, combining his advice and my requirements. He was very helpful and responsive. I checked with other suppliers as well and the price quoted was competitive. I chose Lost World because Andrew tried to give me the best combination of price and itinerary.

After I paid the initial deposit there was a little delay in making the bookings, but Andrew stayed in contact throughout. I also made a late change to one of our hotels and this was accommodated. The service throughout the holiday was fantastic with no issues at all. Andrew stayed in contact even once we were on holiday just to check that everything was going to plan.

I would highly recommend this company and will definitely be contacting them if i travel to Brazil again.

Do you love the ease of mind that comes with having every detail taken care of when you travel? Details that allow you to relax and enjoy the special little moments of discovering the world; learning about new cultures, awe inspiring wildlife encounters, and leisurely meals highlighting local cuisine? Then you are ideally suited to Collette tours.

The Collette traveler is typically older, in the 50+ range. Travelers who enjoy the finer things, value a premium to luxury style of accommodation and transportation, yet have an adventurous spirit.

Recent retirees and active seniors who are game for anything are the kind of traveler who relish a tour with Collette - check out this group in Costa Rica - taking part in Costa Rica's famous ziplines!

If you don't want to be encouraged to jump in and push your comfort zone a bit, you may find yourself out of step on a majority of Collette tours. Though they have several offerings, so don't let that discourage you.

Collette is ideal for active travelers who enjoy a comprehensive guided tour, with a lot of activity, and local experiences. These tours usually involve extensive walking, sometimes over uneven surfaces, so a certain basic level of physical fitness is required. Tours are classified by 5 basic physical levels, to help you find one best suited to you.

Free days are included in most tours, giving travelers time to relax, take walks on the beach, or maybe do some shopping.

If you’re the kind of traveler for whom the a glass of champagne out in the blazing sun of the Australian outback, gazing at Uluru, sounds idyllic - then Collette tours would be perfect for you.

    Top Destinations

Collette tours travel all around the world, to all 7 continents including Antarctica. They are well known for Central and South America, Australia, and Africa. They also offer an impressive variety of North America tours including several in the United States and Canada.

Travel styles include everything from river cruises to family tours to faith based tours.

    Collette Travel Style

Collette promises the “trip of a lifetime” through exclusive outings, luxury touches, and appreciating the moments of anticipation before the world reveals itself. Their travel style is about discovering new cultures, embracing the explorer within -- in time for a cocktail at the end of the day.

    Beautiful national park landscape

They have 6 broad classifications for travel style: Classic, Explorations, Spotlights, River Cruise, Faith, and Impact Travel:

    1. Classic Collette Tours - This is what they call their Flagship collection, group tours that make the postcard come to life. Visit all the must see sites, enjoy cultural experiences, all with a professional and knowledgeable guide, there to help make your travel as seamless as possible. Groups are on the larger side

    2. Explorations - These tours are about going deeper, meeting locals, and getting off the beaten path. “Authenticity” is a big word for Collette Explorations. You’ll experience the destination in a smaller group, an average of 18 people, allowing for access to more local experiences not available to larger groups. Classic sites will also be included in your itinerary, but the focus is mostly on unique experiences.

    3. Spotlights - Have a shorter amount of time and don’t want to miss anything? Collette Spotlight tours are designed to maximize your city stay or short getaway experience. These are primarily walking tours, packed with sightseeing, historical and cultural information, but with some downtime as well. Typically these tours are between 5-9 days.

    4. River Cruise - A very popular mode of travel, particularly for 50+ travelers, river cruising is ideal for those seeking a leisurely vacation, unpacking only once, enjoying gliding by beautiful sites and participating in various guided shore excursions. Collette river cruises go around the world, including China, Egypt, and Europe.

    5. Faith - For those travelers interested in visiting religious sites, Collette has a group of tours dedicated to faith based travel. Visit world famous icons and learn their ancient histories. Collette Faith tours visit everything from grand churches to the humble beginnings of the three major world religions in the Holy Land. Tours are history based with an emphasis on finding deeper spiritual significance and meaning.

    6. Impact Travel - Being a responsible traveler is an important component on all Collette tours, however if you’re seeking to do more to give back, their Impact Tours are a great way to do so. Sightsee with a purpose as you assist with local initiatives, volunteering among the community, helping in classrooms, and protecting local wildlife.

This is a great opportunity for meeting fellow travelers in a similar age range. Collette tours are open to everyone, but the majority of people on your tour will be older - in the 50+ range.
