Since September 15, we (we were just under 80) were in a 10-day cruise on the Sea Spirit in East Greenland. Unforgettable impressions and great fun!!!
We have a large experience of cruises on big ships with passengers from one and a half thousand or more. The last our trip has nothing to do with all the previous ones: about 100 passengers, 70 - the crew, all landings on the shore are included in the cost. Service (cabin, food, etc.) is not worse than on large ships. In the zodiac-boats and on the shore you are under constant surveillance of the expedition team members. They are experienced, knowledgeable and always friendly and attentive people. Flora and fauna of the Polar region and its landscapes are interesting and picturesque. Comments of professional members of the expedition team are very capacious and always in place and time. You will bring fantastic photos home. I strongly recommend this kind of travel!
However, if you are usually used to spending most of the cruise time in the pool, on all sorts of shows and boutiques, you will not find all this on this ship. Truly speaking, you would not have time on Sea Spirit for this: zodiacs trips, walking on the shore and excellent stories about the surrounding nature. We are planning a similar trip again.

In conclusion: Many thanks to all the staff of Poseidon, who to some extent took part in the realization of our trip.

Fantastic trip to East Greenland. Loved every moment.

The ship's crew and Poseidon staff took great care of us. M/V Sea Spirit was very comfortable and well appointed. Lovely ship. The meals were well served and offered a great selection for both the set menu and buffets. All senior staff were seen regularly around the ship and were open to chats and solicited comments on your experiences.

Weather and ice conditions necessitated some modifications to the trip, however the alternatives were excellent and well chosen.

I would not hesitate to recommend Poseidon Adventures.

This trek is definitely worth it. It might take a week to trek from start to finish but it is worth every step. The day we got to the base camp was very difficult but only because it started the hail, then snow in the last couple hours of trekking. Apart from that the trek was amazing. The views were amazing and I got to see thing i never would have at home.

We chose Annapurna Base Camp because the trek has a lower risk of altitude sickness that Everest Base Camp.
The trek was still quite challenging with many mountains to climb over (the guide called them hills ha ha) before we eventually started to follow the valley line up the mountains towards Base Camp. The accommodation was pretty basic (tea houses) in each village we stopped and the temperature kept getting lower the more we climbed. But once we got to base camp the view was amazing and we were so glad that we decided to do this trip. It was pretty hard, but the memories of being surrounded by some of the tallest mountains in the world was worth all the effort.
I would recommend that trip to anybody with a moderate level of fitness

      About Poseidon Expeditions

Since 1999, Poseidon Expeditions has been leading adventures to the world’s Polar Regions.

      What Makes Them Stand Out?

An innovator in polar exploration, Poseidon takes you on a breathtaking journey through icy waters and snow. They offer such activities as camping in Antarctica, penguin viewing (of course!) and adventure sea kayaking through their own kayaking club.

      Who Travels With Them?

The great thing about a cruise is even the most cautious traveler can visit adventurous destinations. They do require a single supplement if you are traveling solo, so unless you’re ok paying a bit extra, their trips are ideally suited to families or couples. The average age of travelers is between 45 and 65 and they recommend that travelers be physically fit.

      Where Do They Operate?

Poseidon Expeditions specializes in the polar regions of the world, meaning Antarctica and the Arctic. You will visit the enchanting lands of Greenland, and experience the thrill of dodging ice in a zodiac in Antarctica; cruise through Iceland, and visit the North Pole. Due to their specialized focus, they have extensive expertise in these regions, giving you an in depth look at their tremendous beauty and history.

      Why Travel With Them?

For an adventurous travel experience including fun shore excursions such as hiking and a lot of on-ship activities such as whale watching. Knowledgeable expedition guides provide expert insight on local wildlife, and the science behind the incredible landscapes you’ll explore.

      About Epic Adventures

Epic Adventures offers in depth Nepal tours, as well as tours that feature Bhutan, Tibet, and India.

      What Makes Them Stand Out?

They provide a way for you to experience rural and remote Himalayan life, from a local perspective. Their main focus is on hiking tours, where you’ll meet local communities and learn about the mountain cultures. They have an experienced and international team, dedicated to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all their travelers.

      Who Travels With Them?

Their tours are open to all ages, but travelers should be in good physical shape. Their treks and peak climbs are offered in a variety of durations and are all led by extremely experienced guides. Trekking in these environments requires a certain amount of endurance and skill, so travelers should know very clearly the level of the trek or peak climb they choose.

      Where Do They Operate?

They are very specially focused in Nepal, with tours also offered in Bhutan, Tibet, and India. Multiple treks and peak climbs are available.

      Why Travel With Them?

If you are looking for a lot of variety to choose from for your next Nepal trek, they certainly would be a good place to start. This kind of travel depends on a company that puts safety and guide knowledge first, and Epic Adventures takes this aspect very seriously. They also take care to ensure that all their tours fulfill the commandments of sustainable and responsible travel. Especially important for the area of the world they specialize in.
