Exceptional service from beginning to end! I'm from L.A. and for the longest time, have always dreamt about traveling to Cuba.

However, when originally researching how to get there from the U.S. (despite the progress between the two countries), I was met with many conflicting and confusing "resources" that did not provide any solutions. But that all changed when I found Cuba Travel Services.

Last month, I was finally able to travel to Cuba and experience it before the floodgates open up. It was the most spectacular trip thus far (Coincidently, I was even there for the U.S. Embassy reopening!)

Andrea Calderon from CTS, provided and setup everything I'd need to go. This included informative and up-to-date knowledge of travel to Cuba (she answered all my 28628100 questions), necessary documents, my visa, and the round trip chartered flight from Miami to La Habana, Holguin to Miami (they have multiple departing locations in Cuba.)

Cuba Travel Services is awesome and it could not have been a more seamless process.

Gracias por todo!

This is my first time traveling with this travel agency and airline.*suncountry* My flight was supposed to leave at 11:35 am from tampa to cuba on 3/5/15. It is 3/6/15 and it is 2:28am. Guess where I am. Miami!!! I checked my bags at 7:30 this morning. Anticipating my flight to Havana where we have a car rented also through Cuba travel. To make this long story short we did not board the plane until shortly after 6pm because the airport kept saying the plane had some part they had to fix. Then every hour the info was that they were waiting for the part. Then part arrived and wasn't fixed, and wasn't fixed. During the whole time we waited we were only offered a $10 food voucher which everyone knows in the airport does not buy you a full meal, not even 1/2 a meal.

At last minute, before boarding we were all happy plane was ready to go. But then, we were told flight crews time expired and we had to fly to Miami first to swap out the crew and then fly to cuba. We didn't like it but the thought of movement was nice. Flight crew could've flown us to Cuba and waited there instead of making us wait here. So we arrive in miami and are informed crew would be on in about 20 min. We start seeing crew, we're happy, and then there it is again. We are delayed because the plane 'still' has electrical problems. Still? We were informed later by a plane mechanic that the plane flew to miami with problems . So all 100 plus of us lives were put in danger. Our lives were risked. Why did they do this. I would've rather stayed in Tampa where my bed is and come back the next day. While on the plane we were not aloud to get off for about a good hour or so. Customs would nor let us. All we were offered was a cup of room temp water. No snack, nada. When we finally exit into Miami terminal we were given a boarding pass. Supposedly to get back on plane. Well guess what , around 1:00 am flight cancelled. You can only imagine people's reactions. Cubans reactions!! We got a nutrigrain bar now and a soda. That's it.

No straight answers from anyone this whole flight and what people want to hear is the TRUTH! !!!!! My car rental in Cuba probably will not be refunded. May not even have a car when we get there. I spent a whole day of my vacation like a prisoner in an airport! ! Come on . It is 4:15 am now. In one hour I will have been awake a full 24 hours. No offering of blankets or anything from airport and it is freezing. There are mothers who have infants that need their formula which was packed under the plane. OMG......this was the most horrible experience.

This is a holiday gave me a chance to slow down, and take the time to feel part of the natural world: the sun, to notice the hook-beaked oyster catchers and families of rare seals, to enjoy the wonderful food, the sunshine, scudding clouds, waves lapping and the feeling of being held safely by the St Hilda whilst being at the mercy of winds, tides and waves. It was fun to share tasks with fellow passengers and to laugh. I haven't laughed so much for years. And I loved seeing beautiful coastal parts of Scotland for the first time from the sea, gaining the chance to wonder at the histories and cultures that have flourished, been lost and yet live on in the remote, unusual places where we moored. I discovered my sea-legs, but I found much more - the pleasure of a little bit of distance from land, the new perspectives it gives and sheer joy of experiencing the sea, and its role in revealing new dreams and uncovering old ones. All this was in the company of knowledgeable crew - sea-farers who made the whole cruise delightful from start to finish and easy-peasy for a land-lubber like myself.

This was a fantastic holiday - there is something magical about being in a ship, relying on wind and waves, seeing beautiful scenery, eating lovely food, helping sail the ship and enjoying the experience with a group of witty, friendly, knowledgeable people.

This holiday was like no other: it was stepping into another world where the wind, sun and sea mattered because our lives were held by the ship and these big elemental forces. It was a realm of sea faring lore, laughter and fun, where the elements - water, wind and tides - mattered and shaped and influenced our journey. It's easy to laugh on a ship because you are sharing the camaraderie of crew and ocean and somehow the sea is lighter than the land. Instead you have the myths and stories of sea and mysteries of the deep - Moby Dick, Jonah, Noah's Ark and Ring of Bright Water! It's fascinating to be on a slow journey with time to reflect and to be looking at the strange, populated and then depopulated, fought over Scottish coastal landscape from a new perspectives. It's fun to work with the charming, witty, friendly skippers and fellow crew hauling anchors and sails. But, most of all, it's a joy to be on, and in, and feeling the elemental ocean. I felt safe and found my sea-legs, but I also stumbled into a new world, one that enriches and ignites dreams.
