My Perillo trip to Greece: Athens is a maze riddled with ancient ruins and beautiful sites. The food was terrible at every place our tour group had chosen for us. We were not able to choose what we wanted to eat other than a choice of fish or meat. One would think that without a doubt at least the calamari would be excellent but every place that was chosen for us the food was either improperly cooked or rotten. My experience in Athens was horrible: there was not one person or vendor we encountered who did not try and deceive or take advantage of us in some manner. Our tour guide did nothing but make excuses for all of the mistakes and screw ups rather than try and correct them.Read more
Then it was off to Mykonos. An extremely beautiful island. The restaurants chosen for us were terrible and once again our tour guide did nothing to try and resolve any dissatisfaction anyone in our group had no matter how slight. Our accommodations were horrible, and once again our tour guide did nothing but make excuses stating that it was the end of season. We were promised a full breakfast buffet daily, however the eggs were not only fertilized and red they were nearly raw. What was supposed to be bacon was nearly raw, the coffee was instant, I could rant about more but, the overall attitude of our tour guide as well as the staff was an "I don't care attitude". This is not only my opinion but the opinion of most everyone who was on the tour. Did I mention I had food poisoning twice while there?
Next and currently I am in Santorini. The views and islands are spectacular. However, I did not get to experience our boat tour today because I was in Bed all day with a severe fever which has finally broken. However, the bed bugs got the best of me and my legs and and arms look like I have some type of disease.
Perillo did not take into consideration anyone who may of had any type of physical handicap or illness. We were forced to carry our own luggage on and off each boat trip to each island. This may not sound so terrible but this entire vacation has been nothing but extremely stressful and unsatisfactory.
Mostly I blame our tour guide. She took no interest in making accommodations for any of us. And most importantly did nothing to ensure or safety in any manner.
My trip to Italy via Perillo was the best experience I had ever had and our tour guide was the best one could ask for. Raphael set a standard so high that I guess no one else is able to meet.

Took a Perillo Tour to Hawaii in September 2015. It was awesome. Everything was taken care of and if there was any kind of problem, it was taken care of immediately! Our tour guide, Paul, was fun and very good. The people on the tour were fantastic and it really did feel like vacationing with family. One of these days, Perillo is on my list for my Italy tour.Read more

Have you ever wanted to go to the most beautiful, interesting country in the world? If you've been to Italy, you've been there. If you haven't, you don't know what you are missing. My first trip to Italy was in 2005 with Perillo Tours. I fell in love; with the country, with the history, with the art, with the beauty and with the tour company. Since that first trip, I've returned eight more times. Each one with Perillo. I wouldn't do it any other way. Perillo knows how to do it right. You can leave all your worries with Perillo and enjoy your time in the most beautiful country. I've been asked many times. No, I don't work for Perillo. But I'm absolutely sold on the service they provide. From the folks you work with in New Jersey to the tour bus in Italy. It's all first class. So, do yourself a favor, book a tour. I promise there is nothing like it. And I'm always thrilled to share my experiences with anyone, should you want additional information regarding money, art, food, shopping (my favorite) or anything else. Just let me know and we can schedule some time to talk. Ciao!!Read more

My friend and I recently traveled to Nepal from the United States and had an amazing experience trekking to Annapurna Base Camp with sunrise adventure travel! We met Suresh in Kathmandu and he was incredibly helpful in setting up our trek and accommodation/activities in Pokhara post trek. Our guide, Palman (aka Paul) was amazing as well!! He was knowledgeable, patient, trustworthy, and kept us laughing with his hilarious sense of humor (which matched our own spot on!). Everything worked out exactly as Suresh promised that it would and he checked in before and after the trek to make sure that we were pleased with how things were going. We definitely felt that we were in good hands with both gentleman and would highly recommend Sunrise Adventure Travel. The prices were very fair and our experience was unbeatable. Thanks again, SAT!Read more

Founded in 1945, and headquartered in New Jersey, Perillo was a pioneering company in the guided travel industry.
Perillo has been a name in the tourism industry since the 1940s, known for operating tours in Italy. Today Italy is still their main focus, though they have expanded to offer limited departures in Hawaii, Greece, and Costa Rica.
They provide well thought out and classic itineraries, showcasing the traditional sights, nicely augmented with local insider knowledge. Perillo is a classic tour company, offering several trip options including custom tours, destination weddings, and traditional escorted group trips. On the trip, you’ll benefit from their extensive experience and destination knowledge.
They have a dedicated Italy brand, “Perillo Italy Tours”, which expands on their long legacy providing Italy guided experiences, as well as a “Learning Journeys” brand. Their learning journeys travel to many more destinations, and cover a very wide range of interests, including certification classes for certain skills.
All ages are welcome on Perillo tours, however their type of travel may be more enjoyed by older travelers looking for a calm, fully managed tour. Perillo is a bit old fashioned. They do one thing and do it well, and haven’t changed much in the 60 years that they’ve been around. So if you’re looking for a traditional guided tour, busy but not with too many bells and whistles, Perillo is a great choice.
One unique offering through Perillo is their faith-based journeys. This was one of the first types of tours designed by Perillo. You can visit Greece and the Holy Land, as well as several important religious destinations in Italy. For travelers seeking an authentic religious-themed travel experience Perillo’s extensive experience leading and planning these kinds of tours is nearly unmatched.
Custom trip options are also available through Perillo. These custom group experiences cover a wide range of interests including yoga / health and wellness retreats, festivals, and learning tours geared toward universities. If you’re planning a destination wedding or honeymoon they have services dedicated to this as well.
Their Learning Journeys are perfect for solo female travelers and enthusiastic life learnings passionate about learning new skills, languages, or diving deeper into the history of a certain destination and culture.
Perillo is known for, and primarily focuses on, Italy. Here their breadth of knowledge is impressive as they began operating packages in 1945. Perillo Italy tours cover the whole country, including Sicily, with special emphasis on classic sights and local eats.
Perillo also offers escorted tours in Hawaii, Greece, and Costa Rica.
Their “Learning Tours,” focus on niche educational travel and classes around the world, including Africa & the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Tried and true is Perillo’s style. They may have the most flashiest or easily navigable website out there, or the most unique itineraries, but they know guided tours, they know Italy, and they stick with the classics. Hotels, meals, and activities have been personally vetted and experienced by the founder, and they have everything down to a science.
Itineraries are between 9-10 days on average, often focusing on cuisine and historical sights. Groups tend to be between 20 and 40 people, and they often arrange private departures for large groups such as families or wedding parties.
Special interest tours are another popular kind of itinerary offered through Perillo. In Italy, they offer a number of golf tours, faith-based tours, and culinary tours. Learning tours often focus on cooking, as well as art and history, science, and wildlife.
For an experience in Italy like no other, Perillo operates tours from the major cities to the charming hill towns off the beaten path. Their itineraries are carefully crafted for a thoughtful balance of sightseeing, free time, optional activities, and relaxation.
They are not the flashiest of tour companys, and their website is somewhat difficult to navigate to find all the options available - of which there are a good number. But they certainly have laurels to rest on given their extensive background and long historic legacy in guided tourism.
Sunrise Adventures specializes in trekking tours in Nepal, but also offer trekking and sightseeing in India, Tibet, and Bhutan.
What Makes Them Stand Out?
Nepal is a classic trekking destination and Sunrise Adventures local guides have years of professional experience guiding and walking challenging multi-day treks. They offer assistance not only on the trail, but pre and post travel as well, including visa support and hotel booking. 24 hour customer service is available during your travel - including safety support such as helicopter rescue.
Who Travels With Them?
Trekking is not for the faint of heart! Both literally and figuratively. Most of their trips are quite challenging, and you will be hiking in altitude. Most of their tours, if not fully focused on trekking, have an adventure component whether it be bungee jumping or whitewater rafting. These kinds of tours are most suited to young travelers seeking excitement with a dose of culturally enriching activities as well. Groups and individual travelers are welcome.
Where Do They Operate?
Primarily they are known for their Nepal treks, which range from the famous Everest variations to lesser known areas. However they also offer a variety of adventure trips in India, Tibet, and Bhutan.
Why Travel With Them?
Trips are all conducted by local guides, and they have many years of expertise leading the challenging multi-day treks. They are also an eco conscious tour company for those looking to minimize their carbon footprint while traveling. You can also feel good about helping the local communities as a portion of the profits when you book your trip go toward social services such as helping orphanages and local charities.
