Awesome! Did the Moab ride with Sacred Rides Sept. 2012. Great accomodations, great food, great guides (Johanna and Ryan), great shuttle (Mark Erickson, Mountain Bike Buddies), FANTASTIC rides.

We started with Pipedream, rode Slickrock, The Whole Enchilada, Magnificent Seven including the Portal Trail (Google this one, it's awesome!), and ended up with Moab Brand Trails. All in all, a fantastic mountain bike adventure. The guides were always up for another ride (or hike), the scenery is magnificent, and the trails are out of this world!

We booked this trip to celebrate my husbands fiftieth birthday with a group of ten friends. It exceeded our expectations. Amazing guides, terrain, culture, food and organization.

The trails in Moab are just banana's. This is not a beginner ride. Our longest day was about 60 km of riding. Keep in mind that you will be riding at between 4000 and 11,000 feet above sea level and a lot of the trails have long sections that trend upward.

I was very impressed with the Family Adventure company in terms of the holiday delivered which was exceptional. The booking and pre-holiday experience was fine although it would be better to have a specific contact to email rather than just to phone the general number with queries.

Booking and customer service were good. From a child's perspective

Booking and customer service were good. From a child's perspective, FAC were not as welcoming. Another company we have travelled with sent a welcome pack with a travelling companion (soft toy) and activities to do while travelling. When on the holiday this company also catered more for families needs e.g. more frequent stops when travelling for food and toilets, without parents having to ask. The stops were also at more sensible times e.g. making sure there was a stop at lunch time (12.30ish), rather than early afternoon (1.30 onwards). Children (and adults) get irritable if they've not eaten making the journey more stressful.

About Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Holidays

Founded in 1996, Sacred Mountain Bike Company has forged a way in the travel industry with their top notch customer service and thrilling itineraries.

      What Makes Them Stand Out?

Sacred Rides satisfies a niche, offering challenging but fulfilling mountain bike tours to experienced cyclists. Their expert guides are know every inch of the trails you traverse and live for revealing them to you, from secret roads, to unique local establishments. Most of their trips are for advanced riders - a detailed breakdown of the expectations for each skill level is on their website. Apart from the riding, their tours offer a great view of local culture, history, cuisine, and everyday life.

      Who Travels With Them?

Their trips are best for active travelers who have some experience mountain biking, though different trips have different physical levels they require. They state that their trips are appropriate for Intermediate to Advanced riders. The age range is between 30 - 55, and groups are maximum 10 people. They state that groups are usually a mix of solo travelers, couples, and friends.

      Where Do They Operate?

They have trips in select countries around the world. These include British Columbia and Ontario in Canada; California and Utah in the USA; Costa Rica and Guatemala in Central America; Peru and Patagonia in South America; The Azores, Greenland, Slovenia, Croatia, Switzerland, and Italy in Europe; New Zealand, and Nepal.

      Why Travel With Them?

After your ride, travel concierges can help you extend your trip if you’re interested in seeing more of the country. Their core belief as a company is that mountain biking can make a difference in people’s lives. If you are an avid cyclist looking to stretch your comfort zone and see the world on two wheels, they are the perfect choice.

      About The Family Adventure Company

Founded two decades ago and based in the UK, The Family Adventure Company specializes in small group family adventure vacations. The company is now part of the global adventure travel operator Intrepid Travel, and trips are offered through Intrepid as well, allowing them to greatly expand their range.

      What Makes Them Stand Out?

With more than 20 years’ experience, The Family Adventure Company helped pioneer the concept of small-group adventure travel for families with young children. Activities are wide-ranging, from river rafting and kayaking to cycling, sailing, camping, and wildlife viewing, all geared to the ages and interests of the family travelers.

      Who Travels With Them?

A wide variety of families, including solo-parent, single-child, multi-generational families -- parents, children, and grandparents traveling together -- and families with teenagers. The latter have dedicated trips of special interest to teens.

      Where Do They Operate?

Much of the world: Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

      How Does it Work?

No matter where you travel, The Family Adventure Company provides an English-speaking, family-friendly local leader. Lodging, transportation and activities are also included. Tours typically consist of three or four families with kids of similar ages or interests. (You can also put together your own trip with just your family or other families you’re friendly with.) Children 14 and under get a ten percent discount off adult prices; large families (over two kids) get another price break.

      Why Travel With Them?

The award winning company offers a wide range of trips for a wide variety of families. Because they only cater to families, they know what kids like – and as any parent can tell you, nothing is more disastrous than a family tour not geared in any way to kids. The company also supports responsible and sustainable travel practices and gives back to local communities.
