Stay away. This was a weird experience! I should have hung the phone up right after being introduced to the agent who asked me, "Do you have enough money for this trip?" What?! You've got to be kidding! I asked this bizarre person why they asked me that and she said, "We don't usually have women traveling alone." My jaw hit the floor. Was she born in 1850, 1900? My bad that I didn't hang the phone up right there and then.

This was the tip of the iceberg, however: I had originally called this agency early to make sure I got the trip nailed down for the dates I needed because I was using frequent flier miles for my flights. The agent said I had contacted them too early and that we can make arrangements later. Okay. I took her advice.

Lo and behold, we made the reservations TOO LATE and I ended up having to spend three extra days where I did not want to be because of her error! She gave me a curt "I'm sorry." In my opinion, a five-star agency would have offered some compensation for this type of error! Nothing, zero, zilch! Five-star? HA! No way. Stay away and go with someone else!

We were invited by friends, (two couples,) to join them on a trip they had already planned to Sri Lanka in December of 2016. Because they had used ATJ, we asked that company to add us on. The three couples were all then going on to India, but in separate directions, so we had ATJ continue to plan our private journey in India, with hotels, guides and drivers. Eric Kereus was our agent from ATJ. He was superb. Both in Sri Lanka and in India we had wonderful guides and drivers, stayed in delightful, top rate accommodations, and ate delicious healthy meals with never a hint of indigestion. Everything we saw was interesting and worth our time in both countries. We are very satisfied customers. You can’t miss by using ATJ.

This was my third experience traveling with Asia Transpacific, we have been to Vietnam and Cambodia and in Myamar in individual trips organized by them. This was my first guided tour. The tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and responsible, she made sure we got a well rounded experience with history as well as modern day information. The tour encompassed modern Japan, as well as visits to ancient sites. The company is very responsive, several of our tour members had emergencies (one left her credit and bank cards home) and the company helped without hesitation. Tours are extremely well organized. I highly recommend them!
