Very good trip. Very good crew, friendly and professional. Very good food. Landscape is wondeful. Bedroom are clean. But....
We didn't go to ukrainian base of Vernadsky while it was written that we go.
Some people had paid 2000 euros less than me because they booked last minute.
We didn't see Horn Cape while we wasn't far.
The bedroom is too much small for three people.

All about the trip was fantastic, including my travel-mates.
Yes the crew/staff/guides/Doctor were first class, but the real bonus was the way people mixed and joined in.

All in all, SUPERB.

PS a big shout for my two restaurant buddies!!!

It really is not hard to write a positive review about such a well run operation in what has to be one of the most stunning parts of the world, observing the abundant wildlife that calls this remote area home.

The expedition team and the ship's captain and officers spent countless hours making sure that this voyage lived up to its title. As a result, we enjoyed numerous memorable sightings of polar bears, walrus haul outs, whales around the ship, arctic foxes, reindeer, seals and, of course, many species of birds.

The onboard lectures from experts in their various fields were most informative and the zodiac shore excursions most enjoyable.

Finally, one has to mention the jaw dropping scenery of the Svalbard Archipelago. High peaked mountains with glaciers reaching to the sea in every direction, huge bird cliffs reaching for the sky and sea ice from horizon to horizon. All very aptly summed up as "Magnificence at its Utmost Best". Thank you to all involved.
The memories will last a lifetime!

Frank B and Carol D. - Ohakune, New Zealand.

About Oceanwide Expeditions

Based in the Netherlands, Oceanwide Expeditions specializes in polar expedition-style cruises to both the Arctic and Antarctic. Operating since 1996, they’re one of the pioneers in the field.

What Makes Them Stand Out?

They offer an excellent series of educational lectures onboard and a wide variety of potential activities on shore, which may include camping, snowshoeing, kayaking, and mountaineering for the truly adventurous.

Who Travels With Them?

Oceanwide Expeditions passengers are curious about the world, its cultures, and its wildlife, and are willing to pay for a top-notch experience.

Where Do They Operate?

Throughout the Arctic and Antarctic regions and a bit beyond. “Arctic” itineraries include remote Scottish islands – the Hebrides, Orkneys and Shetlands – as well as the Faroes, Iceland, Greenland, Spitsbergen (Svalbard), and the Lofoten islands of Norway. Antarctic itineraries include the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the South Orkney Islands and the Ross Sea. One spring cruise includes remote, seldom visited South Atlantic islands such as Tristan da Cunha, St. Helena, and Ascension Island.

How Does It Work?

The company owns a fleet of four vessels capable of breaking through pack ice and small enough to navigate their way through narrow passages. Weather permitting, the ships make two landings per day, with passengers ferried ashore via zodiacs.

Why Travel With Them?

These are truly memorable expeditions to some of the most remote spots on the planet.
