Wow, the trucks look amazing now! I spent 6 months going around South America in 1994 in one of the older trucks, had the time of my life. The photographs bring back a lot of great memories. Absolutely awesome photographs .

3/5 because the first 3/5ths were led by an excellent, fun, pragmatic team and the last were led by different people lacking in those qualities.
The vehicle was wholly unsuitable for the roads being unable to cope with mud or sand. It had no 4wd or a lockable diff and we had to push it far too many times.

This is the greatest tour company I have ever traveled with and I have used them a good few times. This type of holiday is not for all but for people like myself who wants to see places of the standard tourist destinations and on a budget. Take a good look at what they have to offer. If you don't mind roughing it a bit, waving your dinner plate to dry it, helping to dig the truck out of the sand, helping with truck repairs and taking turns at cooking, well give it a go. All these experience creates a beautiful memory.

Stride Review

Founded in 1981, Dragomans unique overland journeys have been delighting adventurous travelers for over twenty years.

What Makes Them Stand Out?

They specialize in unique overland adventures for families, independent travelers, and groups. Their unique itineraries help you get off the beaten path, while still providing enough time to see the main sights.

Who Travels With Them?

Their trips are open to everyone, and they are quick to dispel common myths about overlanding, such as the trip length and camping requirements. If you’re looking for a shorter trip, and some days of not completely roughing-it, Dragoman has these options available. Although all their trips do involve “getting involved” and helping with setting up camp, cooking, and clean-up.

Where Do They Operate?

Dragomans overland journeys operate in Africa, the Americas, and Asia.

Why Travel With Them?

They emphasize the community and friendships you find on a group trip, and foster that through their unique “Dragoland” system, an exclusive social media community. Travelers who register with Dragoland can meet other travelers on Facebook, join local groups, and create a travel wish-lists. Overland travel may not be for everyone, particularly those looking for a more comfortable travel style. But if you’re seeking a transformative experience, with albit a lot of driving time, where you’ll meet like minded travelers, Dragoman could be the perfect fit.

From Dragoman

At Dragoman we aim to offer authentic, grass-roots adventurous holidays. Travel with us and we’ll get you off the beaten track and really under the skin of the places, whatever style of trip you choose. This means taking the road less travelled, mixing with the locals, learning about their culture and most importantly having an open mind.

We are based in rural Suffolk in the east of England and are proud to be independently owned. We ran our first tour in 1981 and have grown to be a market leader in overland travel. Over the years we’ve grown steadily in size but are still small enough to aim to ensure that each Dragoman traveller has a unique - and hopefully - life changing experience. Last year 2500 travellers joined us on a Dragoman adventure, visiting 55 different countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Our overland tours range from 9 days to 235 days in length. Our shorter 2 or 3 week trips offer a great snapshot of a country or region; giving our travellers a short, sharp adventure travel experience. In just a short break from your everyday life we can get you off the tourist trail and take you on a perspective-changing journey.
