Jenny at SA Expeditions put together a 14 day Machu Picchu and Galapagos Island cruise/tour for us. I really don't think there are adequate words to describe how perfectly wonderful the trip was. Magical, beautiful, awe inspiring....all that and more. The itinerary, the guides, the hotels, the transfers, the fact that we didn't have to think about anything other than have an absolutely amazing holiday. I would recommend this company, and especially Jenny, without hesitation to anyone thinking of traveling to South America.

We received a lot of assistance picking out the places to travel in Peru. As we added or changed things, the agent was very accommodating in redoing the schedule. A truly customized trip.
The guides were wonderful! At times they gave way more information than I could process, and they were very flexible to pause when asked. Guides are so proud of Peru and the areas in which they live.

Were met at each point as scheduled. Flexible when asked to detour or stop for a picture or roadside market, stay a little longer or leave a little earlier depending on our interest.

I suggest you be clear on hotel expectations. Our lodging, though asked for 3 star hotels (they don't do 2 star I was told), seemed way over the top for our tastes. Our favorites were in town, which we loved to walk round before and after the "official" tours. A few involved taxi rides from outside town so was limited in getting the local flavor.

We have not yet taking our trip. It is next month, God willing. This is the trip of our "life". My husband and I have being dreaming with it always. We Praise God first for giving us this opportunity, but I also want to add that who help us thru all the coordination (and my thousand question), who is being an amazing professional, knowledgeable representative, and incredible responding question, is being our agent, Mrs. Jenny Byrne. She worked extremely hard to accommodate all our requests. I feel by now that I am talking with a friend. We highly recommend her to anybody that wants to travel in total safety, security and assurance of the conditions of their trip. May God bless her and her family.

Great accommodations at the "B" in Lima and La Casona in Cusco, couldn't have been better!! Would have liked more info on difficulty of trek, went from sea level to 15,500 feet in a very short time. Needed another day in Cusco to adjust to altitude and one needs to be in well above average physical condition to enjoy the trek. Dolfin 1 was an a fantastic ship with every thing 5 star along with an amazing chef bringing us the best cuisine imaginable. Disappointed not to get to do the tree top walk. Not told until the day of the planned walk. Saw a lot of exotic birds, few mammals. Overall a very enjoyable trip.

From SA Expeditions

How We Began

The year was 2010 in Lima, Peru. Two American expats, with fresh minted MBA’s and a love for travel founded SA Expeditions. Nick Stanziano and David Rottblatt were taking a chance on life.

Maybe with a few computers and lots of hard work, they could turn their passion for travel into a company. Since then, that idealism and ambitions of youth have come to reality, giving way to an adventure of a lifetime shared among our thousands of clients, colleagues and partners along the way.

We are specialist in South America and we see ourselves as being born on the continent. Today though, our team is global. A robust and choreographed web of destination experts, guides and local operators that are at the very top of their craft, designing and executing travel experiences that changes lives.

Our Team

SA Expeditions is more than just a travel company, it’s a network of professionals hailing from a variety of backgrounds and places, all bound by a love of travel, appreciation of different cultures and dedication to crafting an authentic travel experience. Our team of experts, visible and behind the scenes, all contribute to making each tailor-made trip a truly unique, memorable, once in a lifetime adventure. Have a look behind the scenes and see what makes SA Expeditions tick.
