A: There are a few stories surrounding why Bolivian women can be seen wearing bowler hats perched high on their heads. The most popular is that a gentleman in the 1920s ordered a large shipment of the hats - common for men at the time - from England, to have a taste of home in Bolivia.

However they were too small - so he sold them to the local women...and the rest is history!
