Short Description

Considered The "Best Hike In Patagonia” Join Patagonia Unbound on one of Patagonia's most epic treks. Experience Patagonia's true wilderness as you hike through the Dientes de Navarino massif, pass through lush forests, sprawling valleys, peat bogs, lagoons and lakes. After conquering the Dientes Cordillera, view the panoramic views of Nassau Bay, Wollaston archipelago, the Beagle Channel, and the legendary Cape Horn archipelago. With most of the trek above the treeline, there's nothing to obscure your views and everything to wonder at. The Dientes circuit--the world's most southerly significant hike-- is sure to leave you exhilarated, invigorated and utterly inspired.

Small groups are usually defined as between 10 and 24 travelers, often less. If you're the kind of person who enjoys more intimate experiences and personal service this is a good choice. All else being equal you will pay a premium for this style vs a larger group tour.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Puerto Williams

Meals Included: Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Lakutaia Lodge

Nestled against the coast of Navarino Island in Tierra del Fuego, Puerto Williams is a stalwart little town, home to hardy people, a fascinating melting pot of immigrant and indigenous cultures, and bountiful ecological diversity. It’s also the gateway to the craggy peaks of the Dientes Massif, which loom upwards from further inland. After arriving and getting to know the town, you’ll have your first encounter with how the perfect mix of climate and environment at the end of the world has created a wonderland of varied plant species at the OMORA Ethno-Botanical Park through the park’s signature “turismo con lupa” or “magnifying glass tourism” program. What is there to examine so closely? The miniature forests of Cape Horn, another world made up of some of the world’s highest density and diversity of mosses, lichens,  and liverworts. After feeling like a giant exploring these tiny worlds, you return to Puerto Williams for dinner and the overnight at the Lakutaia Lodge.

Day 2: Start of Trek

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

It’s time to start the southernmost trek in the world, as you strike out towards the first overnight stop at Salto Lagoon, with a hiking time of about 4-5 hours. After starting out, you’ll be able to see the Beagle Channel and distant Puerto Williams. There are two possible ways to take this first part of the trek: the first, the high-end slope of the Robalo Valley, or from the back of valley. Weather conditions will determine which route to take. But no matter the route, as you slowly leave civilization behind heading into the mountains, the surroundings will be awe-inspiring.

Day 3: Crossing the Dientes de Navarino Cordillera

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

The jagged peaks, valleys, forests, and lakes of the heart of the Dientes Massif are no match for your determination to conquer and explore them all! On the 5 1/2 hour trek today, you’ll cross the most iconic part of the mountains, the Dientes Cordillera, from which you can see Cape Horn, Nassau Bay, and Wollaston Island. But the magnum opus of the day comes when you reach the summit the Ventarron path to see the Dientes and Mount Codrington in their entirety - a truly glorious sight. The overnight will be at Laguna Martillo.

Day 4: Guerrico Valley

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

The trail today leads explorers through the virgin forests of the Guerrico Valley and by the Montes Lindemayer before ascending through the Virginia Pass, where you enjoy the fruits of your labor: panoramic views of the dynamic, enchanting landscapes and waterways that make up Tierra del Fuego. The 6 hour trek ends at the last campsite for the circuit. Tomorrow, it’s time to return to civilization, so enjoy your last night in pure nature.

Day 5: Final Day of Circuit and Free Afternoon

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Lakutaia Lodge

It’s the final leg of the circuit, which your legs will appreciate you for as you follow the path downwards toward the sea and arriving back at the Lakutaia Lodge for lunch and relaxation. The rest of the day is free for you to do as you please, and can be a great opportunity to further explore Puerto Williams and learn more about its history and culture. After a delicious dinner that night back at the lodge, rest well with dreams of the awesome adventure you’ve just undertaken.

Day 6: Departure

Meals Included:: Breakfast

After a hearty and filling breakfast, it’s time to fly back to Punta Arenas or cruise back to Ushuaia, Argentina after your epic trip

They are just great!!!
They have a no-nonsense ambience.
The Dormitory is adequate, very clean and comfortable.
The food was very tasty, homely and had a good variety.
The activities catered to our satisfaction. They are provided with lots of patience. Every staff member is so friendly and they ensure that you enjoy the outing.
We were a family with people from all are groups. They took care of every individual needs. Our aged mother was made very comfortable, and they arranged a chair for her at every activity area.
We spent almost two days and one night. And we enjoyed every moment.
If one is looking for a good outing, this is the place. Total value for money. Above all it's the passion of the staff that makes them better than most places around Bangalore.

Just a couple of weeks ago, our team had been to ‘Eagles Unbound Adventure Camp’ for a team outing. It was one of the best outings that we have had and a lot of credit goes to Mr. Sunil Chris for being the perfect host. He and his team had ensured that every minute detail was taken into consideration and delivered as promised. The fact that the organizers were able to feel the pulse of our team and plan activities accordingly had built the right tone for team bonding. The hygiene and quality of food served was par excellence. I would recommend ‘Eagles Unbound’ to anyone planning a team outing.
