Itinerary

Day 1: meet your group and hike the mist trail!

Hiking: 3-6.5 miles

Meals: Lunch and dinner included

Lodging: Campground in Yosemite Valley

11:00am – You’ll meet your guide in Half Dome Village at the Campground Reservation Office, and after getting acquainted, we’ll head out on the famous Mist Trail. This signature hike is the perfect introduction to Yosemite leading to its main attractions, Vernal Fall and Nevada Falls. Known as the crown jewels of Yosemite, they fall a combined total of more than 900 feet! The two waterfalls are beyond impressive but this trail offers so much more! While hiking along The Merced River, we’ll take in incredible views of Upper Yosemite Falls, The Yosemite Valley, Liberty Cap, Half Dome, and more! Days end will find us settling in at our campground right in the heart of Yosemite Valley. Here we’ll gain a better understanding of what inspired Theodore Roosevelt’s famous words after camping in Yosemite – “It was like lying in a great solemn cathedral, far vaster and more beautiful than any built by man.”

Day 2: Hike The Four Mile Trail To Glacier Point

Hiking: 9-10 miles

Meals: All meals included

Lodging: Campground in Yosemite Valley

Today, after a hearty breakfast, we’re going to earn our panoramic views by hiking The Four Mile Trail. This trail climbs straight up from the valley floor and provides incredible postcard-worthy views of Yosemite Valley, Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, and Half Dome. Eventually we reach Glacier Point where we’ll stand where John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt once stood. We’ll take a breather here and enjoy the views before retracing our steps back to our campground for our last night in the valley.

Day 3: Hike Yosemite Falls Trail And Say Our Goodbyes

Meals: Breakfast and lunch included

Accommodation: Lodging: On your own tonight

Hiking: 3-7 miles

After we fuel up with a guide prepared breakfast and break camp, we’ll head to one of Yosemite’s oldest historic trails. The Yosemite Falls Trail rises 2,425 feet above the valley floor to the top of one of North America’s tallest waterfalls. The steep, thrilling trail offers spectacular views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, Sentinel Rock, Upper Yosemite Falls, and more! Our turnaround point depends on timing (and how our muscles have recovered from yesterday’s adventure). Regardless of when we return to the valley floor, the challenge and incredible views on Yosemite Falls Trail make it the perfect way to end our journey together. We’ll return to Half Dome Village between 2-4pm where we’ll make plans for our next adventure together before parting ways.

Dove in planning was super professional- called us all and was in regular contact with us.
Was very impressed by this. Our guides Whitney and Dan were excellent hosts that gave
us great insight and were constantly thinking one step ahead so we always knew what
we were doing. My suggestion is that the hike into the falls starts even earlier in the day.
I suggest we wake at 3am so that we are at the trailhead by around 6 and not 9. This
would give us some more time to play at the falls without costing us much seeing as we
only sleep at Grand Canyon Caverns Inn. The location suggested by the team was really
nice and our group dynamic worked really well. We had a stack of fun as a group. Our
guides helped foster this.

The meals were delicious and were prepared in a timely manner with great quality and
were way better than I was expecting. The guides (Jesse & Jason) woke up before
everyone and made sure food was ready for us when we were ready for it. They also did
great negotiating with some temperamental campers in the canyon!

My most memorable moments were when we were able to see things that others didn't know about because we were on a guided hike. I had so much fun jumping into waterfalls and swimming into caves that we wouldn't have seen if we didn't come down with AOA. The most challenging part of the trip was definitely the last part of the hike out but I was thankful for cool rain as opposed to hot sun. The most surprising part of he trip was learning about the Havasupai people and how they have survived down in the Canyon for so long.
