I will give you the short version-
My 18 year old child rode the bus from the Chateau Lake Louise to the Calgary airport-they are very well traveled and smart.
-Bus stops in Banff, driver said we are stopping and leaving at 6:30pm. 18 year old came back at 6:25pm-NO BUS. GONE.
-I get a call from bus service panicked-they can't find my child. I call my child-they are waiting at the designated location...NO BUS.
-Staff from Banff Fairmont take them to the bus.Very helpful.
-My child gets on the bus...bus starts rolling. STOPS...driver turns on ALL the lights and MAKES MY CHILD APOLOGIZE TO THE WHOLE BUS FOR MAKING THEM LATE. Driver said that the misunderstanding on meeting time was my childs fault and made everyone on the bus think that it was the drivers fault.
-My child stood up and apologized to all the riders on the bus and then sat in the back and cried.
-I AM APALLED THAT AN ADULT WOULD PUBLICLY SHAME AN 18 YEAR OLD IN FROM OF COMPLETE STRANGERS WHEN IT WAS CLEARLY CLEARLY CLEARY THEIR FAULT.
I WILL NEVER I REPEAT NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I WILL WALK.

They advertise to walk a glacier. In reality you are on a bus for 45 minutes. You walk in a small circle on top of one small part of the glacier. I was extremely disappointed and felt very ripped off.

For the love of God put some damn signs in the gondola warning people that it may stop mid journey so you can assist people with mobility challenges get on/off. I went into full-blown panic mode (I have PTSD) when we stopped midway up with no notifications at all. A simple announcement, signage or something so that we know nothing is actually wrong.

I drove the Icefields Parkway from Lake Louise to Jasper this week and had many unpleasant experiences with Brewster. The speed limits in the National Parks are not only for our safety, but also the safety of wildlife. No matter if you stick to the limits or go 10km/h over, it is only a mater of minutes until the next Brewster bus comes from behind and drives up so close that you have to go over the speed limit to keep a safe distance to the bus. That is, if they respect the solid double lines when racing by downhill. Being force to drive up to 110km/h in a 90 zone because a giant bus is less than 20m behind you at that speed is not my idea of enjoying the Icefields Parkway.

It is especially ridiculous that the buses do this, only to stop literally right next to a grizzly bear a few kilometers down the road? People that kept the safe viewing distance of at least 100m as suggested by authorities got their view of the bear blocked, as the driver stopped the bus right next to. Grizzly bears are a species at risk in Alberta, so it is disgusting to see, that Brewster stops their busses right next to these magnificent animals to blast them with their exhaust fumes for minutes and stress them with their noise. Opening the door to let tourists out to photograph the bear at this short distance is nothing but irresponsible. If that animal attacks someone, it could get relocated or shot by authorities for something that is not its fault but was caused by Brewster staff giving the visitors "an experience" that could even cost them their life.

The icing on the cake is the fence at the glacier walk. While standing there in the slow traffic caused by the large amount of busses roaming the area, it is impossible to at least enjoy the view of the valley, since obviously Brewster not only charges for using the walk, but also the simple view of the valley when you are just driving through it.

I understand that Brewster wants to make money in the National Parks with visitors. But don't forget about nature, which makes it possible for you to make money in the first place.

I would like to thank Brewsters for looking after us so well, including one stage of our journey when we were the only 2 people on the bus, they have some lovely staff who were very kind.
