  • Exploring the capital of Windhoek
  • Enjoy some of the various activities designed around the daily lifestyle of the Nhoq’ma community.
  • Experience an Elephant healing dance
  • Visit to Etosha National Park
  • Visit to Namib Naukluft National Park

Wedged between the Kalahari and the South Atlantic, Namibia enjoys vast potential as one of the youngest countries in Africa. In addition to having a striking diversity of cultures and national origins, Namibia is a photographer’s dream – it boasts wild seascapes, rugged mountains, lonely deserts, stunning wildlife, colonial cities and nearly unlimited elbow room. We start our journey with a remarkable culturally focused experience in former Bushmanland, spending time interpreting nature with one of Namibia's oldest cultural groups, the San. We continue with game viewing with a focus on large mammals in the great Etosha National Park. Our focus shifts to conservation at Okanjima, one of the most successful wildlife sanctuaries for Africa's big cats before we climb some of the highest sand dunes in the world at Sossusvlei and gaze at stars from a lodge's observatory.

Day 1

Settle into the Olive Exclusive boutique hotel and spend some time exploring the quiet capital of Windhoek. On the main street, well-preserved German colonial buildings contrast with modern architectural styles, while Herero women in their traditional Victorian dress mingle with executives dressed in the latest fashions.

Day 2

Take a short flight to Tsumkwe and head to Nhoma Safari Camp, your home for the next two nights, spread over a vegetated dune with views over the Nhoma omuramba. Enjoy some of the various activities designed around the daily lifestyle of the //Nhoq’ma community.

Day 3

Take an in-depth look into the lifestyle, ancient skills and traditions of the Bushmen, one of Namibia’s oldest cultural groups. Join in on traditional activities such as the gathering of food, craft-making and shooting bows-and-arrows. This evening, experience an Elephant healing dance, performed to relieve illness and social tensions.

Day 4

Depart for Etosha National Park by land via Grootfontein and Tsumeb, stopping for a scenic lunch en route. In the early afternoon, have your first experience of game viewing in the 22,270 km² Etosha National Park, before continuing to Mushara Bush Camp.

Day 5

Spend the day exploring more of Etosha National Park, consisting of grassland, woodland and savannah. Visit various game-viewing centres on the numerous waterholes where some 114 mammals and over 340 bird species can be seen including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and cheetahs.

Day 6

Make your way to Okonjima, located at the base of the Omboroko Mountains. Stop en route to visit the sinkhole of Lake Otjikoto and arrive in time for lunch at Okonjima Bush Suite. Your home for the next two nights overlooks a waterhole and is nestled in a secluded wilderness of open Acacia thorn veld.

Day 7

Rise early this morning for another guided activity before you return to Bush Suite for a sumptuous breakfast. This afternoon learn about the various types of tracking and conservation of Namibia’s large cats through the AfriCat Foundation. Activities include leopard tracking and a visit to the cheetah welfare project.

Day 8

Catch a private charter flight to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge this morning. Later, explore the NamibRand Nature Reserve with a number of activities including a sundowner drive, guided walk or quad biking in the dunes. Spend the evening at the lodge’s observatory under the guidance of the resident astronomer.

Day 9

Rise early this morning for an excursion into the Namib Naukluft National Park, an area boasting some of the highest free-standing sand dunes in the world. Explore the areas around Sossusvlei and Deadvlei and enjoy a relaxing picnic in the shade of a camel thorn tree before returning to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge.

Day 10

This morning is spent on one last activity if time allows after which you will be driven to the local airstrip for your charter flight to the Windhoek International Airport. Upon landing a representative will meet you to assist with your onward connection. Safe travels!
