Highlights
  • Explore Scotland.
  • Visit St. Andrews have a must for all avid golfers
  • See the awesome Castle Stuart an equivalent golfing focal point for the highlands
  • Drive to Kingsbarns an exciting links course is considered the nearest thing to Pebble Beach

To step onto a links course in Scotland is to step into a dozen generations of living history. From the romance of the people and its history to the allure of the land itself, one cannot help but feel transported through time. And as for the infamous “Scottish Mist,” it may moisten the skin but it will not dampen your enthusiasm. Quite frankly, it only adds to the magic of this enchanting place.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrive to Edinburgh's Balmoral Hotel, one of Scotland’s most iconic properties where you’ll have time to relax. If you’re up for it, enjoy a walking tour of the ancient Old Mile and take in the views from Arthur’s Seat, offering the best view of the North Sea coast.

Day 2:

Start your golfing adventure in the heart of it all, at the Old Course at St. Andrews—a must for all avid golfers, who should make the pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime. You’ll never forget an opportunity to play here!

Day 3:

The game of golf has been played at Carnoustie since before Columbus discovered America, making it one of the oldest courses in the world. These links have been played over the years by all the golfing greats and today you will join their ranks.

Day 4:

Located directly on the North Sea coast, Kingsbarns is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking links courses ever developed. This new and exciting links course is considered the nearest thing to Pebble Beach outside of the USA.

Day 5:

Measure yourself by the same standards as the worlds’ best at the home of the 2014 Ryder Cup. The PGA Centenary Course, set amongst the beautiful rolling Perthshire countryside, was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is a modern classic opened in 1993.

Day 6:

Venturing further north, today you’ll tee off on the jewel of the Highland golfing crown, Royal Dornoch. This links course is a must-play on any golfing trip to Scotland. A stiff but fair test of golf, this course rewards the strategist who is on top of their game.

Day 7:

Just as Gleneagles is to Perthshire, Castle Stuart has been conceived as an equivalent golfing focal point for the Highlands. The centerpiece for this golf resort is Castle Stuart Golf Links, a championship links course overlooking the Moray Firth.

Day 8:

Today we’ll make our way back to Edinburgh, where you can connect to your flight home or onward to further adventure!

Accomodations

The Balmoral, Edinburgh

The Balmoral is a truly majestic 5-star hotel. Like all of its Rocco Forte Hotel counterparts, it is extremely luxurious and splendid. Located in the heart of the city centre for shopping, culture, entertainment and sightseeing, it’s now considered a city landmark.

The Old Course Hotel, St Andrews

This fine resort hotel overlooks the manicured acres of its namesake Old Course and across to the sea beyond. It’s an elegantly informal haven of luxury, warm hospitality and exquisite dining, offering some of the most luxurious accommodations in Scotland. All of the rooms are designed to offer a welcoming haven with contemporary fabrics, soft furnishings and marble touches in the bathrooms. The luxurious suites are spacious, finely appointed and offer fine panoramic views over the links courses to the sea.

Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire

Located in Perthshire on 830 acres of rolling countryside, Gleneagles Hotel is one of the leading golf and spa luxury hotels in Scotland. Here you can choose from 232 luxurious bedrooms, including 13 exclusively decorated suites. The hotel has a choice of four restaurants, each with its own style, but the hallmark of every one is freshness and flavour.

Culloden House, Inverness

Arriving at Culloden House you could be forgiven for thinking you had strayed into a majestic private estate. The imposing Palladian mansion is set in 40 acres of parkland and gardens on the edge of Inverness, perfectly positioned for your headquarters of conquest and discovery. Originally a Jacobean castle, in 1746 Bonnie Prince Charlie requisitioned the building for his headquarters just prior to the tragic Battle of Culloden.
