Itinerary

Day 1: Bangkok arrival

VIP Meet and Greet with Fast Track Service on arrival

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met at the air-bridge and be escorted to immigration counter without queue, and our staff will carry your luggage from the luggage belt and bring you to meet your English speaking guide and a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for transfer to your hotel. Check in time starts from 2PM. Meals are on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Visit Bangkok like a local

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

In the morning, meet your guide at the hotel lobby at 8:00 AM. You will take the skytrain, also known as the BTS, and glide through the city to reach the river, where you can take a short boat trip to Tha Tien Pier, starting with a visit of Wat Pho. Wat Pho is home to more than one thousand Buddha images, as well as one of the largest single Buddha statues ever constructed: the Reclining Buddha. You will likely hear the monk's morning chanting ritual emanating from the main hall during your visit-a beautiful, otherworldly backdrop to this reverend location.  You will continue your walk to Wat Phra Kaew, known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and one of the most revered temples in Thailand.

Your next stop, a definite must-see, will be the Grand Palace: home of the Kings of Siam of the Chakri Dynasty, originally built by King Rama I. Afterward, you will continue your walk to the fascinating, almost mystical Amulet market, where you can buy charms to ward off evil spirits. For a bit of adventure, jump on a Thai tuk tuk to visit Wat Saket and climb the heavenly Golden Mountain, which offers an incredible view of Bangkok from above. After that, you will travel aboard a Saen Saeb taxi boat to discover the Jim Thompson house, home of the famous founder of Jim Thompson Thai Silk. One last ride by BTS or taxi will bring you back to your hotel after a day full of striking scenery and holy decadence.

Day 3: Bangkok – Damnoen Saduak Floating Market - Kanchanaburi - River Kwai

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Depart early morning for a 1.5 hour-drive to the Damnoen Saduak floating market.  This vibrant market features numerous small boats laden with colourful fruits and vegetables, paddled by Thai women wearing bamboo hats.  Almost always crowded with hundreds of vendors, purchasers and tourists, the best way to experience the atmosphere of the market is to board a rowing boat yourself and make your way through the small canals to buy fresh produce from the vendors.  This is the only place to see the traditional way of selling and buying goods in Thailand, and will truly give you a taste of the authentic Thai experience.

Late in the morning, we’ll head for Kanchanaburi, a two-hour drive away, where you will see the River Kwai Bridge. The best known attraction of Kanchanaburi was part of the infamous Death Railway, built by the prisoners of World War II under the supervision of Japanese Imperialist Army. Lunch will be on your own account.

In the afternoon, you continue to visit Death Railway Museum (Thailand – Burma Railway Centre). This interactive museum displays information and photographs about the planning and construction processes of the railway as well as the geography, living conditions in the POW camps, medica lpractices, a summary of the deaths, wartime operations, and the devestating aftermath of the war.

Then travel for an hour to Resotel Pier, where you take a private boat for about 20 minutes to the River Kwai Jungle Raft to check in. After that, take a traditional longtail boat upstream to visit the nearby ethnic Mon Tribal Village. Then, return to the hotel. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM (19:00), followed by a 45-minute presentation of a captivating Mon Dance. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: River Kwai free day

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch or dinner

Free day at leisure. Breakfast, choice of lunch or dinner at the hotel, the other meal is on your account and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Kanchanaburi – Ayutthaya

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and at about 8:30 AM, you’ll take a boat back to Resotel Pier for your private transfer, which takes about 2-3 hours, to Ayuthaya, the former capital of Thailand. You’ll arrive in Ayutthaya beteween noon to 1:00 PM (13:00) for lunch time. Then, you’ll make your way to the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a complex of royal residences first built in around the 17th century to serve as a summer palace of Ayutthaya kings. It was later abandoned and ruined until King Mongkut (Rama IV) restored the complex. Most of the buildings we see today were built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), who regularly spent his summers here with his royal consorts. Each building features a different architectural style: for example Wehat Chamroon Palace, the only royal residence currently open to public, was built in a traditional Chinese style, complete with materials imported from China, while the Aisawan Tippaya Asna Pavilion, set in the middle of the lake, features a traditional Thai style embedded with colorful glass mosaics. On the other side of the complex, you’ll see a monument cum memorial to Queen Sunanta, King Rama V’s royal consort, and their son who tragically died in a boat accident. You might notice that Bang Pa-In Palace is slightly similar to the Grand Palace; divided into two zones. The outer zone serves royal ceremonies and the inner zone is reserved only for the king, his consorts and their small children. You will take a sightseeing here from around 1:30 PM (13:30) for about  2 hours before heading to the hotel for check-in (the room is available from 2:00 PM[14:00] onward) then the rest of the day is free. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Ayutthaya – Sukhothai

Meals: Breakfast

This morning, you will explore the glorious ruins of Ayutthaya, which recall the early splendor of the city, once destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767. During your visit, you will stroll around all the most impressive remains of this UNESCO World Heritage site, visiting Wat Mahathat, famed for the head of Buddha which is embedded in a tree trunk and surrounded by the growing roots. Then, you will move onto the Royal Monastery – Wat Phra Si Samphet, famous for its three iconic chedis, or a place to store holy relics. After your tour, you’ll take a five hour trip to Sukhothai. Arriving in Sukhothai by late afternoon, you’ll check in the hotel then enjoy some free time to relax and stretch your legs. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Lost in Sukhothai Historical Park - Visit local house & make your own amulet

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Today, you will explore wondrous Sukhothai, a UNESCO world heritage site, by bicycle. This incredible ancient capital, which dates back to the 13th century, is considered the birthplace of Thai art and architecture, and you will discover beautifully carved elephants that support a towering stupa, magnificent Buddha imagery, and engrossing wall paintings within the various monasteries and temples. Sukhothai, which translates to ‘Dawn of Happiness,’ is one of Thailand’s greatest ancient cities and uncovering this historical masterpiece is key to understanding Thailand’s rich, classical history.

Late in the morning, you’ll pay a visit to a local house not far from the Historical Park, where you will meet the owner, a local history expert. He will make you feel right at home while sharing his knowledge and food with you. Lunch will be a simple but tasty local dish of “Sukhothai noodles”. You will also have the opportunity to make your own Buddhist amulet to take home as your own unique lucky charm. Return to your hotel in the afternoon then enjoy some free time to relax. Dinner will be on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Sukhothai - Lampang - drive to Chiang Mai

Meals: Breakfast

This morning, you will check out of the hotel, then depart northward to Chiang Mai.

On the way, you will stop in Lampang, where you’ll visit Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, a frankly impressive Buddhist temple built in the Lanna architectural that still retains its traditional design, giving you direct insight into Thailand’s architectural history. Remarkably, this Wat dates back to 1476, which may make it the oldest wooden structure in Thailand that still stands, thanks to the immensely strong teak pillars. The walls around the structure and the temple might also give you the impression of a fortress- strong, steady, and truly ancient.

You will have lunch at your expense in Lampang. After that, you will continue the drive to Chiang Mai where you check into your hotel. The check-in time from 2:00 PM (14.00) onward.

This afternoon, indulge your senses in a genuine old-style Thai Massage. This one, not only relieves your muscle tension but also helps female ex-prisoners reintegrate into professional society. It’s a good cause activity which make a virtue of necessity. The first experience of a traditional Thai massage might be a little distressing for some, but usually people recognize that they feel extraordinarily relaxed after the massage.

Lunch and dinner will be on your own. Overnight in Chiang Mai.

Day 9: A taste of Chiang Mai walking tour - Sunset Doi Suthep

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

After breakfast at the hotel, at 9:00 AM you’ll meet your guide at the hotel lobby for a walking tour to discover Chiang Mai. Your tour will start at the Ping River bank and will take you through the hustle and bustle of Kaad Luang, the “great market,” as locals call it. Kaad Luang is actually made up of 3 different markets, and it has been a favorite shopping spot for locals since the late 1800s. During the tour, you will get to know all about the history of the market and its surroundings while enjoying fresh produce and local culinary specialties along the way as you gaze upon the various wares for sale.

Enjoy lunch at a restaurant or at your hotel (at your own expense) and take some time to relax after the tour.

you will take a ride up the centuries-old Doi Suthep, one of the highest hills in the Chiang Mai area, and within easy reach of the city itself. Doi Suthep is also one of the city’s most spiritualy-significant temples. You’ll have the chance to receive a unique, private blessing and witness the monks’ chanting: an awe-inspiring and exotic experience that will surely bring you into a state of peace and tranquility. Feeling suspended in a balance between earth and sky, admire the setting sun as the sky bursts into color over the city below.

Then, return to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner will be on your own expense. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Chiang Mai free day

Meals: Breakfast

Today is free at leisure. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Chiang Mai - Bangkok – Departure

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, travel with your guide to the airport for your flight to Bangkok and to connect with your departure flight. Meals will be on your own. The hotel room will be at your disposal until noon.
