Itinerary

Day 1: Venice

Arrival at Venice airport. Private transfer to hotel centrally located. Accommodation, free time at disposal and overnight.

Day 2: Venice – Walking and Gondola guided tour

Breakfast. Meet your guide for a small group walking tour of Venice.

Combining big-name sights and hidden corners, this tour takes you to the heart of the city in just 3 hours; giving you a broad view of the history, culture and character of the Floating City. Led by an expert local guide, you’ll start by the Rialto Bridge. Drop by the Rialto Fish Market to hear about the city's fishermen before veering off the beaten path into Cannaregio; one of the loveliest, most authentic areas of Venice. We’ve carefully chosen the stops on this tour to give you a real insight into the city. Sure, you’ll see the Rialto Bridge, but you’ll also delve into quiet streets, pass peaceful canals and go beyond the areas that visitors usually see. This is where Venice is hiding its best architecture and secret stories – and that’s what we’re out to find. As you wind through Venice’s hidden alleyways, your local expert will regale you with tales of the city’s past and present. While the atmosphere of Venice is best experienced on a walking tour of its streets and canals, there are some sights you really can’t miss. St. Mark’s Basilica is top of this list, as long general access lines usually attest. With skip the line entry you’ll get straight inside for a 30-minute tour with your guide. Learn how the relics of St. Mark arrived here by dubious means, admire its incredible gold mosaics and understand why the church’s east-meets-west architecture is a perfect representation of the city of Venice. The best is yet to come! At the conclusion of your tour, your local insider will leave you in the expert hands of a professional gondolier. Climb onboard a traditional Venice gondola for a half-hour excursion through the city’s canals. Sit back and enjoy exploring the city as it was meant to be seen – from the water! This is your time to relax, unwind, and enjoy Venice at its best. And with no more than 5 other people on your boat (max group size of 6) it’s sure to be every bit as romantic as you had dreamed.

Day 3:  Venice - Padua - Verona (120 km)

After breakfast, check out. Reach Piazzale Roma (transfer not included).  Pick up of the car from Rental car office in Piazzale Roma – Venice.

Following your route towards Verona, you will be able to stop to Padova. Take a pleasant walk in the historical centre, be surprised by the vastity and beauty of Prato della Valle with its hundred statues, by the medieval marketplaces, Fascist-era facades and hip student population. As a medieval city-state and home to Italy’s second-oldest university, Padua challenged both Venice and Verona for regional hegemony. A series of extraordinary fresco cycles recalls this golden age – including in Giotto’s remarkable Cappella degli Scrovegni. Finally treat yourself with a Spritz in the main square right in front of Palazzo della Ragione.

Once in Verona, check in at you’re the guesthouse and evening at leisure for dinner. Overnight

Day 4: Verona Bike Tour

Breakfast. Meet your tour leader and the rest of the group at the tour office in the city centre of Verona, collect your bike and start from here your easy 3-hour ride through the city. Discover Verona’s main attractions and lesser-known sites as you pedal down medieval streets, along ancient city walls and through picturesque squares and courtyards. Hear stories, interesting facts and useful information about Verona from your guide. On your 3-hour bike tour, discover Verona secret passages through ancient walls and ruins, stopping every now and then for amazing photo opportunities or to enjoy a cappuccino or gelato (not included in the price). Pedal past popular Verona attractions including the historical Arsenale building, the roman arched bridge of Ponte Pietra and two ancient Roman theaters: Verona Arena and the Roman Theatre of Verona. Relive the story of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet at Juliet’s House where hundreds of thousands of visitors come to see the balcony where Juliet stood while Romeo declared his love. Lastly, pedal up to Castel San Pietro (St Pietro’s Castle) to enjoy the wide view of Verona. Then, follow your guide back to Castelvecchio to end your tour. Before leaving, your tour leader will give you some tips about where to get lunch and will give you a city map to walk around on your own.

Day 5 : Verona – Garda Lake – Dolomites Fiè am Schlern (170 km)

Breakfast and check out. Depart to Bolzano on A22 highway. On the way enjoy a morning stop to Garda Lake. You can have lunch in one of the local restaurant. Proceed on your way to Dolomites. A nice stop along your way can be Rovereto. Located between Trento and Verona, the City of Peace, of festivals and museums Rovereto will amaze you with its international museums. Stroll through art, history and science and discover the Venetian feel of the old town center. Set amid hills and vineyards, Rovereto is in the center of Valle dell’Adige, along the main road linking Trento and Verona. We advise you to explore the city on foot, the streets of the city center are like a journey through different time periods: the Middle Ages in the walls of Castelbarco, the dominion of the Republic of Venice in the home of the Podestà, the Eighteenth Century in the palazzi of Corso Bettini, the First World War in the rooms of the castle. Along the city streets, you can see the most important and prestigious Eighteenth century palazzi, from Accademia degli Agiati, to Teatro Zandonai, to the city library in palazzo Annona. Many illustrous guests have visited the city. Perhaps the most famous is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who held his first concert in Italy in the church of San Marco.
