Highlights
  • Experience the ancient ruins of bagan
  • Trek amongst rice paddies and hilltribes
  • Stroll mandalay's temples
  • Relax at inle lake

Amazing, surreal, largely untouched by modernity – there are a ton of ways to describe Myanmar (also known as Burma), but it’s better to visit and see for yourself. Using Thailand as a jumping off point, take two weeks to walk, hike, and roam all over the region, from the Bagan temples and ruins to the rice paddies and rural hilltribes. And with two flights included, you’ll avoid long travel days and ensure you get the most out of your cultural immersion in different Myanma towns. Just trust us when we say you need to experience the wonder and beauty of Myanmar for yourself at least once in your life. Make that time now – right now.

From my personal experience, if it’s your first time travelling solo (male or female), I would highly recommend a G-Adventures tour. They give you the chance to experience the country at a deeper level, particularly if your time there is limited.

Already having transport and accommodation organised, accompanied with a flexible itinerary, enables you to completely lose yourself in what the country has to offer.

To whom it may concern: I am a travel agent and work for one of if not the largest travel agencies inside the U.S. I must say that I have traveled extensively and this was actually my second G adventures tour and our tour guide was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Pui (Kulika Limkaew) paid every bit of her attention to detail and did everything possible to ensure that our trip was not only successful but most memorable as well. I would travel again and again to this destination just to be in her care and have access to her knowledge. Words cannot express how she far exceeded my expectations! August 2016

She went above and beyond to accommodate every single passenger and traveler. This was my first big journey. And for someone with not a great travel experience a g adventures tour is the perfect way to get used to travel. Hotels, transport and optional activities were always organized by our ceo and so you could just relax and you didn't always have to be worried about which hotel to stay in next and how to get there and what sightseeing could be done in the next place. This sounds like you didn't have the possibility to decide what to do in each place. In contrary, you were always able to say i want to have a day off or i want to go see that, and i don't want to do this. So you weren't limited in free choice at all. As long as the people in your group are nice people, i'd say nothing can go wrong with choosing to travel in a g adventures group. August 2016

You got a good look around the rain forest around chiang mai and got an insight how basic people live in this area. The bamboo river rafting was something unlike anything i'd ever experien

G Adventure travels are always well organised without forcing one to take part in activities and be pushed around like cattle. It allows you to go experience the country on your own or with guidance, whichever you prefer that day. I also highly appreciate, that G Adventreu CEOs always try to tell you about local customs, traditions and views, to better understand the countries visitied and to travel in a sustainable manner. Solo Notes

We believe solo travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and solo travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.
Accomodations
Simple hotels (twin-share) or hostels (multi-share) (11 nts), overnight bus (2 nts).
A variety of styles of hotels/guesthouses are used on this tour. In many instances they might not be like what you are used to back home, as service and efficiency can vary. In some areas we stay in simple local guesthouses in stunning locations – rooms are small and basic, may be multi-share, and there may be shared toilet facilities and showers. Multi-share Accommodation: Multi-share same-sex accommodation is used on this tour, as such, if you are travelling with someone of a different gender you will not be in the same room. For private accommodation please see tours in our Classic Travel Style.

Important Notes

1. LUGGAGE There are some very long travel days on public buses. As we frequently get on and off sometimes crowded local transport please note backpacks are much more suitable than suitcases for this style of trip. Also note that in some major cities in Vietnam, many hotel rooms do not have windows. 2. COMBO TRIP Please note that this tour combines with other G Adventures tours. As such, the staff and some travel companions on your tour may have previously been traveling together with G Adventures, prior to Day 1 of your tour. Notice For Travellers With Flights Out Of Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) Due to roadworks causing congestion on the route from central Bangkok to Don Mueang airport, the Thai Immigration Bureau have advised travellers to allow more time than usual, around 3 hours, to reach the airport; the roadworks are estimated to last until September 2018.

Meals

Eating is a big part of traveling. Travelling with G Adventures you experience the vast array of wonderful food that is available out in the world. Generally meals are not included in the trip price when there is a choice of eating options, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat. It also gives you more budgeting flexibility, though generally food is cheap. Our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your CEO will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip. Included breakfasts will usually be asian style consisting of noodles or congee (rice porridge) or bread and eggs. Vegetarians will be able to find a range of different foods, although in some areas the choice maybe limited. While trekking in remote regions food is included, plentiful and made of fresh local ingredients. For all trips please refer to the meals included and budget information for included meals and meal budgets.

Physical Requirements Our small group adventures bring together people of all ages. It is very important you are aware that an average level of fitness and mobility is required to undertake our easiest programs. Travellers must be able to walk without the aid of another person, climb 3-4 flights of stairs, step on and off small boats, and carry their own luggage at a minimum. Travellers with a pre-existing medical condition are required to complete a short medical questionnaire, which must be signed by their physician. This is to ensure that travellers have the necessary fitness and mobility to comfortably complete their chosen trip. While our leaders work hard to ensure that all our travellers are catered for equally, it is not their responsibility to help individuals who cannot complete the day's activities unaided. Please refer to the physical ratings in this Trip Details document for more information. Please note that all passengers traveling to Antarctica are required to fill out this questionnaire. The medical questionnaire can be found online at www.gadventures.com/medical-form.
Rules & Other Requirements Illegal drugs will not be tolerated on any trips. Possessing or using drugs not only contravenes the laws of the land but also puts the rest of the group at risk. Smoking marijuana and opium is a part of local culture in some parts of the world but is not acceptable for our travellers. Our philosophy of travel is one of respect towards everyone we encounter, and in particular the local people who make the world the special place it is. The exploitation of prostitutes is completely contrary to this philosophy. Our group leader has the right to expel any member of the group if drugs are found in their possession or if they use prostitutes.
